- One motor mount was totally broken on this 2004 Saab 9-3. This broken mount was creating a thumping and vibration in the floor boards under acceleration. We ended up replacing all 4 mounts the top two motor mounts and the bottom two torque mounts.
Drivers Side Top Mount - Saab 13207582
Passenger Side Top Mount - Saab 12785090
Torque Mount (Longer) - Saab 12785096
Torque Mount (Shorter) - Saab 12785099
Another fun project with my son to get his car back on the road.
Thanks for watching!
Did this on mine, but,
I bought two pack liquid polyeurothane from Ebay, and after removing and cleaning the mounts, filled the spaces in the rubber mount with the liquid.
24 hrs later fitted them back in, car feels so much better with home made solid mounts.
@caractacusbrittania7442 - That sounds pretty interesting, never thought of solid mounts. Appreciate the comment, glad those worked well for you.
You sir have came in a time of need. I’m replicating all of what’s done in this video today on mine!
RandomMayhemGuy - Glad to hear this was helpful. Hope your shop time went well today and you got the work all done and car back in the road.
Sure did! Though, my motor mounts were worn. I’m still hearing a clunking sound coming from what I presume to be my CV axles. Yet they are both new along with wheel hubs, strut assemblies and mounts, front suspension components and rack & pinion. Time for some more diagnostics I suppose. Got any pointers? Maybe faulty cv axle or failed carrier bearing/ some kind of cv axle component? #Longlivesaab but not my bank account
@@randommayhemguy1857 sounds like you have listed all the items I could recommend. Only other thought would be the exhaust hitting somewhere but that should be further back so if your sound is narrowed down to the front end could be those CV joints. Is it any different while turning hard one way or the other?
@@BladesIIB No issues in steering, but it does have slight vibrations in the floorboard at highway speeds and when shifting from park to drive it makes a slight clunk sound and It sometimes will make the same sound when shifting (automatic). Thought it to be rear torque mounts but I will try a new brand cv axle and go from there. Thanks buddy 👍

the battery on concrete is a relic of the past.. you can set it down on it lol
Abdomination - Yes, I worked at a full service gas station many, many years ago and the owner was adamant about that. Have never put it to the test or researched to verify. Will add that to the fiction and not fact pile! Thanks.
The reson its not fits is that there are defeent engine mount to 5 speed gear boks. You got a 5 gear engin mount :)
@clausjrgensen7911 - Understand, thank you for the comment.
Just dropping my 2 cents as I dealt with this issue myself. For 03-04, the MANUAL mount is interchangeable under the battery. I have replaced the mount under the battery on an 04 Aero, automatic, even said AUT on the mount and purchased the manual mount. It is IDENTICAL. At some point, Saab had changed the engine pad/bracket that bolts to the transmission, allowing use of an updated or revised mount. For the earlier years, the manual mount is the same.
okletsskate - Thanks for the comment, I am sure that will help others out. The part numbers and variations was a lot to sort through to find the right ones. Good to know what will substitute.
This comment helped, thank you.@@BladesIIB
@@Proto62 Awesome, glad to hear it. Thanks for the follow up.
Great vid, and very helpful 🤝
Ding Bat - Thanks for the comment, glad you like it.
Nice video, I enjoyed it. Only thing missing, would have been helpful if torque specs were mentioned, that's one of the main reasons I go on the hunt for these type videos.
Celtic-Texan - I appreciate the feedback around torque specs. I have a bad habit of not using a torque wrench on parts like this but I should, and if sharing the specs is helpful then all the more reason to pull them up and use them.
Nice man, thank you
Anthony Gates - My pleasure, thanks for the comment.
my problem is that when i give some gas it starts making rattling sound, and when i drive about 110 km/h the car starts to shake, i did 5 wheel alignment and new tires and it still vibrates. i replace the top and torque mounts but the didn't replace the transmission mount(under the battery). did you have the same symptoms?
Eli Maishi - Thanks for the question. Our symptoms were less of a rattle and more of a clunk on the floorboard. You could really feel it in your feet on the driver or passenger side as soon as you were accelerating. I don’t think it got worse at speed and definitely nothing like a shake in the front end. When researching g this issue I recall reading a lot of posts about front strut mount issues, you may want to search on that and see if those descriptions sound closer to what you are experiencing. If you have already replaced the other 3 mounts with no change I am just not sure the last one will do it? For us as soon as we replaced the broken mount the issue was resolved. Good luck!
@@BladesIIB okay will do some research on the front strut mount👍🏻 thanks and have a good day :)
Sounds like you might have a misfire. Have you solved this issue now?

good video because I wonder about my torque mounts but I am triggered you didn't clean the body some before putting that mount haha
Abdomination - Ha, good point. Should have got a little Windex and a rag in there when I had the chance! Thanks for the comment.
Maybe the engine was changed and mounts were from a different body style
PCPKCreed - Yes with a used car anything is possible for sure. Thanks for the comment.
👍😎👍
Lutfi Alagoz - Thanks for the comment!
Could of really helped to have the ratchet sizes you were using
PCPKCreed - Appreciate the feedback. Will be sure to include that in the future.
