Fun fact 2: the actor playing Joshua(Tate Donovan) had been in relationship with Jennifer Anniston, which lasted between 1995 and 98. So when they tapped this angle(Rachel & Joshua) in 1998, they might had been still dating.

@@aeternus2 may be in real life he was different but in the show he was an awkward man who couldn't get that she was attracted to him despite her throwing so many hints acting so desperate. And personally I don't find him attractive may be Jennifer went for his personality rather than his outer look irl and also it's her choice even if she thought he was good looking and I am not judging her dating him in real life I was talking about Rachel her character in the show is such that people can't expect that she would be so desperate and do such things to get an ok looking man.

It must have been really hard for them to play this scene given that in real life they literally just broke up at the time.
And the desperation begins in this episode. I didn't like they did this to Rachel the writers. They made her all desperate like she can't get a man the right way. But in the other hand it was hella funny as well. 🤣🤣🤣
i thought it made her really endearing and likeable, that she can fall so quickly for a guy and have him not really feel the same, even with her being so attractive. It made her way more relatable/funny for me, especially with how Jennifer portrayed her.
But it gave her some of her finest comedic scenes. Her sheer desperation was hilarious

It’s REALLY hard to defend Rachel after stuff like this.
There are many things that cannot be defended and the idea is that the 6 friends have committed things like that, and that is what makes the program special, but unfortunately most only see bad things about Ross and the others see them as good beings despite of doing bad things like Rachel does.

When someone you just meet at work makes a comment on how they just got divorced and their ex burned all their clothes, your first instinct should NOT be to ask that person out. It should be to give them a polite, but distant service and wish them a good day when they leave.
Not because there might be anything wrong with them, but because you already know for a fact that their ex is the kind of person that burns clothes after a break up and since the divorce is recent (we know it's recent, because Joshua is still in the habit of calling her his wife and hasn't developed the habit of calling her his ex right away yet), there's a good chance they'll be in each other's lives for a while after that, just to finalize the whole thing and you DO NOT want to be seen as the new lover, when you're dealing with someone who burns clothes after a divorce. Who knows what else they might be capable of.
Anyway, rant over. It's just a TV-show. No one cares. And more of that.
