    It’s good to see I’m not the only one that that starts something simple an it turns into a pain in the rear lol

    Nice work. You are lucky. We never had impact wrenches on the farm. Lube oil, torches, hammers, tubes and long persuader bars. Oh and the all important cold chisel. You fo learn quickly though to let the machine do as much or the work as possible. My brother and I put up our steel Quonset machine shed with hand turned speed ratchet and box end wrench. Took us the whole summer working everyday to bolt all those panels together.

    lol I had no doubt that your Milwaukee impact would do the job... I got one a little while back and I love it! Thing is wicked

    Awesome video, most bloggers won’t show you the real deal of a stuck bolt and having to torch it up 👍🏻

    Nice video, I can highly recommend the Milwaukee impact, used it for a while and has removed all but the most stubborn nuts and bolts.

    Had Dewalt and Snap-On but the Milwaukee have worked and lasted the best so far. Their Fuel line really steps it up a notch. Even the 3/8 inch drive impact will kick butt. Those jobs that should be simple almost always seem to have a way of adding a few challenges just to make it interesting.

    After you replaced the first shock, I thought this should be easy. Boy was I wrong! That seems to be typical with repairs. I will say "this shouldn't take long" and two days later my repair will be finished! LOL

    Very impressive impact wrench! I got the Makita 285Z which struggles even with normal wheel bolts!

      I have used tons of cordless impacts over the years. I have yet to find a cordless that will keep up with the Matco 1/2 inch. It has no problems busting the drive axle nuts off cars and trucks, lug nuts are no problem.

    Good j0ob as always Blake. Not really much different than on a pickup truck just a little bigger Looked like it was a little chilly the day you did that job i just can't get over how the wind blows out there almost all the time. Glad you got your nose cleaned up looked like a clown. LOL Hope you and the pups are doing well. Have a great day!!! God Bless

      you should put anti seize on bolt shanks so they do not rust in so the next time you do the shocks they come apart easier

  • @ducewags
    @ducewags 7 років тому +1

    Thanks for the videos Blake. But I have yet to find a 1/2in cordless that will keep up with the Matco 20v. It is slightly more costly, but the nut busting force makes up for it.

    • @GuyinWY
      @GuyinWY  7 років тому +1

      Now is a great time to be buying cordless tools because pretty much all the brands have some really impressive stuff out there. 👍 I haven’t seen a Matco truck in years though.

    • @ducewags
      @ducewags 7 років тому +1

      The thing that impressed me, the speck on the gun. 1,300 ft lbs of removing force, and its no joke. First test was a Haulpak 360 ton mine truck, it spun off all the lugs on one tire with no problems and there is a ton of them per wheel.

    • @ducewags
      @ducewags 7 років тому

      Milwaukee has issues that will haunt the tools. 1 the clutch disk, or planetary clutch gears, is made of the most brittle stuff known to man kind and eats its own teeth. 2 the electric switch, "trigger" is made for 6amps and has more wires on it then bell telephone, and has issues of burning out prematurely. As for the motor, look at the brushes and what holds them in place, keep in mind brushes get HOT. Now if you can get past that part with no problems, you have the bearings that hold everything in its place, have a look at them some time. The 3 year service plan will not cover any of the listed items or batterys. Its a fantastic tool for a home owner, but not for field use like I use things. The mine here spent a butt load of money on swillcockeys where I live, Not one made it over a week, except the flash lights. Nothing was "abused" or tossed around, they just failed the field tests of normal every day use.

    always something when you just are going to do a quick fix. on one of my trailers its a 5 min job to replace the brake pads when you have the wheel off. on my other trailer that have saf axles its a bot more to it, for some reason you need to take off the brake can to get to the adjuster. and mine have been used to haul asphalt so had to chizle my way to get to the bolts as packed with glue and crap. hope they last for a very long time..

    Ohhh man... "No Anti-seize required" Goes to next bolt "Bolt is seized in the shock bushing" This is why you use anti-seize, had the last installer used it the 3 bolts you cut would have come right out. :)
    Always make it easier for the next guy when you can, the next guy might be you again.

    hell I don't need to use any antifreeze on these bolts i just love torching bolts off near the air bags and tires and burning off the paint on the frame rails setting fire to the shock bushings shoot that antifreeze is messy and gets all over my hands hell i got a date tonight
