It’s good to see I’m not the only one that that starts something simple an it turns into a pain in the rear lol
Nice work. You are lucky. We never had impact wrenches on the farm. Lube oil, torches, hammers, tubes and long persuader bars. Oh and the all important cold chisel. You fo learn quickly though to let the machine do as much or the work as possible. My brother and I put up our steel Quonset machine shed with hand turned speed ratchet and box end wrench. Took us the whole summer working everyday to bolt all those panels together.
lol I had no doubt that your Milwaukee impact would do the job... I got one a little while back and I love it! Thing is wicked
Awesome video, most bloggers won’t show you the real deal of a stuck bolt and having to torch it up 👍🏻
Nice video, I can highly recommend the Milwaukee impact, used it for a while and has removed all but the most stubborn nuts and bolts.
Had Dewalt and Snap-On but the Milwaukee have worked and lasted the best so far. Their Fuel line really steps it up a notch. Even the 3/8 inch drive impact will kick butt. Those jobs that should be simple almost always seem to have a way of adding a few challenges just to make it interesting.
You looked like an old pro working on that truck Blake, nice job.
After you replaced the first shock, I thought this should be easy. Boy was I wrong! That seems to be typical with repairs. I will say "this shouldn't take long" and two days later my repair will be finished! LOL
Too days lol try like 3 weeks for me I still cannot get off that last shocks see the one he said oh it's not going to work I just realized he pulled out the breaker bar
I have heard so much good about those impact guns. Still debating it. Same with the battery grease guns. Haha love tractor supply
Very impressive impact wrench! I got the Makita 285Z which struggles even with normal wheel bolts!
I have used tons of cordless impacts over the years. I have yet to find a cordless that will keep up with the Matco 1/2 inch. It has no problems busting the drive axle nuts off cars and trucks, lug nuts are no problem.
Good j0ob as always Blake. Not really much different than on a pickup truck just a little bigger Looked like it was a little chilly the day you did that job i just can't get over how the wind blows out there almost all the time. Glad you got your nose cleaned up looked like a clown. LOL Hope you and the pups are doing well. Have a great day!!! God Bless
That Milwaukee impact is the best thing I’ve ever bought for the money
Great work as always Blake. We are enjoying your videos all the way from Sydney Australia.
Great vid on truck👍 loving my Milwaukee impact gun too. Those shocks look like they have seen fair few miles.
Love the videos , hey you should remind that fellow that he should replace the backing plates ( Brake shoe covers )on the brakes keeps dirt out and will make the shoes last longer .
I feel the same way about working on trucks. Fun job now and then but sure does suck doing it day in day out
Man your hands must be freeeezing! I did my spark plugs the other day and 18 degrees was cold enough for me!
Gotta love fixing vehicles in the cold weather!
you should put anti seize on bolt shanks so they do not rust in so the next time you do the shocks they come apart easier
Thanks for the videos Blake. But I have yet to find a 1/2in cordless that will keep up with the Matco 20v. It is slightly more costly, but the nut busting force makes up for it.
Now is a great time to be buying cordless tools because pretty much all the brands have some really impressive stuff out there. 👍 I haven’t seen a Matco truck in years though.
The thing that impressed me, the speck on the gun. 1,300 ft lbs of removing force, and its no joke. First test was a Haulpak 360 ton mine truck, it spun off all the lugs on one tire with no problems and there is a ton of them per wheel.
Milwaukee has issues that will haunt the tools. 1 the clutch disk, or planetary clutch gears, is made of the most brittle stuff known to man kind and eats its own teeth. 2 the electric switch, "trigger" is made for 6amps and has more wires on it then bell telephone, and has issues of burning out prematurely. As for the motor, look at the brushes and what holds them in place, keep in mind brushes get HOT. Now if you can get past that part with no problems, you have the bearings that hold everything in its place, have a look at them some time. The 3 year service plan will not cover any of the listed items or batterys. Its a fantastic tool for a home owner, but not for field use like I use things. The mine here spent a butt load of money on swillcockeys where I live, Not one made it over a week, except the flash lights. Nothing was "abused" or tossed around, they just failed the field tests of normal every day use.
That gun a beast I've pulled tractor and trailer tires with that thing and it almost torque them down a half turn with the torque wrench and it tighten them down to 475
Cant beat george and the grand tour
Good job Blake.
always something when you just are going to do a quick fix. on one of my trailers its a 5 min job to replace the brake pads when you have the wheel off. on my other trailer that have saf axles its a bot more to it, for some reason you need to take off the brake can to get to the adjuster. and mine have been used to haul asphalt so had to chizle my way to get to the bolts as packed with glue and crap. hope they last for a very long time..
Ohhh man... Blake, you'd had me in suspense their with your big plan's there man seeing that truck there and the words coming into my mind of "ohhhh crap, what about Ivy, Rika and your horses, who's is going to look after them while your away!!!,, serious Blake you and Mike & Erin are my favourite utube channel's and have set my notification alarm on both of you. Even when I'm in the pain in the ass comment's. Come on, Blake what's your big plan's man🤔
Cool, listening to Road dog channel they say Road King shocks are best , pricey but worth it., That should be worth at least
a 100$ bill, of course the dealer it would be 300, good job love those tractor supply stores too. your snow is almost gone ..
Sparsely populated, dogs are best friends
That's a nice station on the radio.
Thanks for video Blake.
For a few minutes you looked like the Scarecrow in “Wizard of Oz”.
👍🏻 pretty straight forward job great video
I love my Milwaukee impact!
"No Anti-seize required" Goes to next bolt "Bolt is seized in the shock bushing" This is why you use anti-seize, had the last installer used it the 3 bolts you cut would have come right out. :)
Always make it easier for the next guy when you can, the next guy might be you again.
That’s why I used anti seize on all of them when I put it back together. 👍
What size breaker bar did you use for that last shocks cuz I have the same issue with my Milwaukee impact , being too big lol
The mothers and grandmothers watching this video are all thinking "WHERE is his stocking cap"??
What size were the nuts/bolts
Air Bags are sure lighter than the old walking beam and leaf spring setups!
That’s why u want to do the bottom first, and anti sizing paste have nothing to do with locking nuts. You use that for easy removal next time
Love that music it can't be beat
Excellent I love the dogs!
reminds me of where I live, High NV desert, wind blows COLD
The Makita in my opinion is better and has more torque but we are wondering what's going to happen to the new holland ?
Good video
What torque on the bolts .
Those are great impacts. Lots i
Of torque...
I like you taste in music!
What song was playing when u first shot in the pickup and the two after George jones
hell I don't need to use any antifreeze on these bolts i just love torching bolts off near the air bags and tires and burning off the paint on the frame rails setting fire to the shock bushings shoot that antifreeze is messy and gets all over my hands hell i got a date tonight
😁I'm talking notes. Thank you.
Hello everyone, I suggest you bleed the shocks before you install them. Fully extend it two or three times and that's it! Have a great day!
Cool dogs!
Some day it will be green out !
ahh-love the snogs u was playing while going to the great TSC in the sky. lol. of course now i know ur not listening to the radio, that's playing them songs. so now i know the rest of the story from the pic u posted on GTT.
is this Schneider truck
We called them aircraft lock nuts. You want them to stay where you put them.
You should have fixed the tail lights while you were in "repair mode". No tail lights on the right rear.
I got cold just watching you. I said it before and i say it again you need a shop.
Anti seize for the next mechanic then no torch necessary.like your videos just a critic
U shop at toys shoes and candy?
When I need to.
Just a fair warning watch playing music in back ground youtube will mute your video because of the copyright bs
They demonetize everything I do anyway, so at least if there’s a few seconds of music they’ll have a real reason. 🤣
i am saying mute as in mute your whole video meaning no sound not just demonitization
Guy in WY lol same here! 😂
Nice pooches
W40 back after one hour and knock them all in 10 min :)
Funny things look so easy watching
I broke the bolt hook my tensioner to the frame , ended up with $1000 job 🤣
First again!
