MALLACOOTA ... Wild Coastline and Beaches !

- Mallacoota is a beautiful coastal town on the border VIC - NSW some 600Kms from Sydney and 500Kms from Melbourne. Its remote location has made it one of the great escapes for everyone who comes to visit with many activities to undertake, as its surrounded by the Croajingolong National Park and the Tasman Sea.
So from boating, fishing, surfing, cycling, snorkelling, relaxing it offers something for everyone ... the Wilderness Coastal Walk would have to be a highlight ( I won't be walking it ... lol ) taking in all of the beaches and coastline that I have shown in this episode plus a lot more. The rugged coastline, pristine beaches make it an awesome sight.

loved this video ,that area is very special to me as my dear ol dad would take us brothers there every year so he could get away from our mother ,Gypsy point is where he rests now ,he was an ol Dutch sailor that travelled all over the globe and thats where he wanted to be scattered ,thankyou for uploading

My Grandfather use to go out with Dawn Davis, the publican at Gypsy Point, spent many an afternoon there waiting to take him back to Coota in the boat!

@@rodgeorge7244 Mallacoota is very close to my heart. A lot of history there for both sides of my family. My old man is buried there as is a lot of other family members.
It’s a magical place, more so when the weather is behaving. 🤦🏽🤣👍🏼

All good mate, the further out you go the better the beach’s are I reckon. Secret and Shipwreck are the pick, but Betka is the pick for the kids.
Check out Genoa Falls about 4ks from Genoa heading to Melbourne, you won’t be disappointed.

Some good fishing to be had inside and outside. Gummies we’re on the bite big time this year. I never had a chance to get out, blew up and swell pick up after the kids went home.

Great episode Gav, love seeing all the coastal towns, gee that breakwall and boat ramp is pretty close to the open seas eh, would be pretty hairy in bigger swell. I stayed at Gypsy Point a few decades ago now, we went out to Mallacoota one day but the weather wasn't great unfortunately always wanted to get back, this time of the year probably best time while the water and weathers warmest. Thanks Chris, it’s a controversial boat ramp that’s for sure, it divided the town. I’ve used it once since it was built.
Gypsy is nice, my grandfather use to go out with Dorn the publican for a while, spent a lot of time there.
This time of year is good, but Feb is the best time I reckon. Plus it’s not as busy as the Xmas period.
It’s a great place, it remoteness from the big cities has saved it from being over developed.
Which is why it is the way it is.

Awesome vid, always wondered what Mallacoota area was like, heard about it during the bushfires afew years ago where everyone had to escape to the ocean in boats and swimming etc.👍👍
Thanks Muppet, it’s a beautiful spot, surrounded be rugged NP on all sides, you can see why it was so badly effected by the Bushfires, but it’s slowly bouncing back from the fires, but has a long way to go.
