I wish I would've uploaded sooner, but finals come to eat me. Anyways, enjoy this.
A classless playthrough is something I think AD32 would've done by now.

Yeah, it's a weird method but since you can autoselect-fire the thing, it's actually a surprisingly viable use for the flare gun (finally). You can throw the debuff in without sacrificing a precious hotbar slot. It's not bad, honestly.

They even have a scrapped lunar pillar for the thrower class, unfortunate for them.

@@Rended_ i don't believe there's a mod that directly adds it back, though Thorium does have their own separate thrower class (as does Calamity), and the pillars do drop thrower fragments. unfortunately, there still isn't a unique pillar for it, as five pillars would be hard to implement so as not to take up too much safe space if you're unprepared after beating the cultist.

Isn't their house now a ranger house? As I remember, all of their weapons were turned into ranger weapons
Given that there are strats for a bunch of bosses using the various explosives, a classless playthrough is absolutely possible provided you grind for a lot of money for bombs/dynamite and maybe bunnies for explosive bunnies. I've also been theorycrafting a run where you can't attack, leaving you with cactus/orichalcum/chlorophyte armor + the auto-attacking accessories and mounts, all of which do classless damage,
Sorbet cafe beat the game with just the flare gun. Another time with a copper shortsword. That man is batshit insane

The coin gun is technically a classless weapon because it doesn’t do any damage
But the money/coins do
It gets boosts from ranged boosts meaning although not listed it is techincally a ranged weapon
@@stickman207 Only the coins themselves get the boost. While it and it behaves as if it gets the boosts; it's technically not getting them at all

@@Nyilith That does actually definitively prove that it _isn't_ a range weapon. Ranged boosts affect both the weapon and ammo (ie both the handgun and the meteor shot you fire out of it get buffed by ranged damage boosts), so if the coin gun doesn't see those effects then it isn't a ranged damage weapon.
This is also why most ranged damage buffs seem lower than similar-tier melee or magic buffs: They apply twice
If you can afford to use the coin gun, then you are definitely using the Upper Class.

Accessories that attack enemies are so fun to use, my personally favorite it's the Stinger Necklace cause of the Honey buff, but others like Star cloak, Yoyo bag, the gel accessory from Queen Slime, Bone glove and Bone helm are also great 👍, also the Spore sac it's the best accessory for farming.
The deerclops bone helm and plantera's spore sack are a couple favorite accessories of mine. They may not make up the damage that other damage bonuses might give, but it doesn't mean they are incredibly worse
I managed to do a Classless playthrough of Calamity mod, but I'd assume vanilla classless playthrough would be much harder.

Also flares can be used to reach the projectile limit as well
One guy already basically did a classless playthrough. He did it with the star cloak and mecha minecart for moon lord. It was a very nice video and i think you should check it out
I once played through all of calamity pre-hardmode on expert mode with just the classless stuff from calamity + flare gun, which ended up just being the flare gun, and the two debuff ones. it was kind of hard but super fun

It is absolutely possible to beat the game using classless damage. Sorbet Cafe has already done it on at least 3 separate occasions, using the Flare Gun (with normal flares), accessory only, AND bouncy dynamite only.

Completed an entire playthrough with only this
Toy Tank mount benefits from Frozen Armor's set bonus! It makes its bullets and rockets inflict Frostbite.

The flare gun was the thing that managed to get me through master mode EoW surprisingly.
Probably how a classless playthrough would start off is getting the cactus armor and then search for a flare gun and the golfer in the underground and underground desert respectively. There is a built-in limit of 1000 projectile limit at a time, and flares take a long time to despawn meaning you will definitely have to swap back and forth between the flare gun and the lawn mower. Accessories are going to be the saving grace of the playthrough though, especially on Master mod. Other than flare guns and lawnmower mowers, accessories that deal classless damage will be very crucial to making a pipe dream of a hellish playthrough somewhat more possible. On Master mode, Queen Bee will also drop the Hive Pack, that will increase _all_ that summon bees, including the Honey Comb and its combinations, all of which deals classless damage.
What about the Expert Queen Slime drop? I assume that's also classless? Just noticed it and the Spore Sac were missing.
Everyone's been using light and shadows mod i've been noticing, i like it too.

Mounts would be a cool summoner subclass, more throwing items for ranged could work as a subclass, melee needs more yoyos with special effects like thier swords with more yoyo accessories and/or expand upon the lances and chainsaw type weapons,

Good idea! Also maybe an expansion on flamethrowers for ranger. Calamity adds a few but not enough for a flamethrower-only run. I can imagine special effects for some flamethrowers, like the way it sprays (“throws”) or the duration of the flames in the air before they disappear.

the flare gun is actually decent agianst the eater of worlds for obvious reasons (its not better than say a demon/tendon bow but the cheap ammo makes up for its decent damage)
War tank does ranged damage, it gets increased while wearing ranger armor or accessories

IRRC you can't outdamage the Moon Lord healing factor with any of the classless weapons so it'll eventually run you over with Phantasmal Blast.

Does the chainsaw from the solar eclipse still create sparks that count as magic damage? I remember the sparks from it creating orbs with Spectre armour

The only mounts which deal decent damage directly dealing classless damage seems like a big 'fuck you' to summoners. Summoners really have no class specific use for the frost moon unfortunately.

For the Flare Gun, wouldn't dealing more than 3 damage require at least a 50% ranged damage boost, not the stated 100%? After that it should round up the damage. Or does it always round down regardless?

Annoys me to the moon that you used completely differing naming conventions for the classes at the start. You used the name of the damage type for Warrior and Ranger, the emblem name for Summoner and called Sorcerer 'Mage'.
