What about stardust cell? The projectiles they shoot literally stick to enemies and the cells are pretty accurate
Stardust Cells don't pierce.
@@TerrawBut shouldn’t the DoT from the cells sticking into stuff trigger once every frame? I don’t see why not
@@Terraw no piercing, but they stick like the spider minions, so they would be hitting every frame forever, because the cells just keep shooting onto the enemies, and since they do way more damage than the spider minions, they would be the second best overall most likely

small note: the stardust dragon head, body sprite 1, body sprite 2 and tail are different types, but the game makes all of the segments copy the head's static immunity. This kind of immunity doesn't have a name in the code, but I've seen people call it "shared static".

What is Abigail’s flower like?, I imagine it should probably out damage the vampire frog staff due to it sticking close to enemy’s like the spiders and stardust dragon
This is exactly what I thought as Abigail gets more powerful the more you summon it and it gets a buff in hardmode and it’s ai likes floating on top of enemys
Does she do regular contact damage? I know she flashes when she’s going after enemies. Is that an attack or is it purely visual?
It's an Attack, she doesn't do Contact Damage, and honestly she's not very good in either situations.@@thenarwhalmage

I wonder how the terraprisma and stardust cell staff perform too.
terraprisma does overlap with enemies whenit hits, sometimes more sometimes less so probably some jump in performance
stardust cell wouldn't probably change much as it fires a projectile which doesn't pierce, the sticking of it to enemies is just a visual to indicate the debuff the put on enemies
Probably not that much better since Cell staff does Projectile and DoT, and Terraprisma acts like the sanguine.
Did anyone notice how the Lightning Aura Staff synced perfectly with the Underground theme?

I would like to see a video where pierce caps are removed and see how projectile summons work, as well as possibly the summons that bounce not to using knock back immunity

9:38 how does half of an immunity frame work? Does it just round up/down or does it have a special property?
I believe in that case, if it was hit with a weapon which has 1 extra update, the *second* update would hit but not the first.
Presumably it'd alternate between hitting on the first and second update of a frame, effectively alternating between 7 and 8 frames of immunity - imagine them lining up like this (5 updates immunity here, # = hit): x# xx xx #x xx x#

this mod also impacts the Plantera Mount, it's walking vines count as a summon making it kinda cracked for hoard events.
Doesn't Plantera have only pets not mounts? Do I need to farm more?

I'm not all too sure why no I-frame removal mods effect minions prior to the one used for this video. The only reason I could think of is balance; but like.. isn't the point of these mods that they're _supposed_ to be imbalanced? Doesn't imbalance just come with the territory?
maybe it was more complicated than expected
extra code required and/or the devs just don't like summoning
you can actually go to the workshop page and see a little heated debate between the players and the author on why summons still have i-frames. the author believes summons to be too overpowered, whilst everyone else argues that overpowered is kinda the point of the mod.
It was because minions are coded a bit differently. In this mod the minions have been changed to use local s which make them significantly stronger, even without removing s.
So yes, it's because it's annoying to code.

I noticed he said in Vanilla, the stardust dragon's segments can only hit one at a time, so what's the point of having multiple segments? So the best endgame summon wouldnt be a full length dragon? Maybe a one segment dragon alongisde another minion. If that is the case, would would mathematically be the best minion combination for overall DPS on single targets and CC?
It has multiple segments even when at length 1 so it can still animate being noodley properly, similarly to how all the other wormlike things in the game handle it
Additional summons of the dragon don't only increase its length.. it also increases its damage.
Damage, as the length of the dragon is directly used in its damage (base 4 segments + 1 from each additional summon slot used)

a* frozen daggerfish are like never used since they suck and require fishing
