    Dinosaur photo bomb! Those goats want to be milked! Cooperation there! Great job running all those wires! Neutral axis drilling to run the wires, terrific! The middle of the beams has the least stress on the wood so good place to drill a hole. He Man, he has the potential for POWER. Nice minibike. Thanks for this!

      @@TinyShinyHome Yep! It saves a lot of head scratching. We also took pictures of all of our wiring and plumbing in the walls before we closed them up. Keeps os from accidentally making a non-wire out of a perfectly good wire when making a mod to something else. Wind kicked up again up here. Not impossible to work in but it is a pain! Have a good one.

    Hi. A couple of ideas & a question
    1) It may be an idea to check that your lights etc. work before you start cobbing the inside. That way, if there are problems you can sort them out before you have to uncover them.
    2) Would you consider letting your older children so some of the electrical connections?
    I know the shed is not finished yet, and it is not the height of summer, but can you tell how comfortable it is going to be, is it already staying a comfortable 70 degrees inside when it is hotter outside?

    • @TinyShinyHome
      @TinyShinyHome  3 роки тому

      We can’t check anything until we have actual power to test it with. Remember we’re completely off-grid, and the whole solar side of this setup is still in planning stages. Best we could do is some sort of continuity check on the ends of each wire.
      Hard to tell on temp. Earthbag isn’t actually insulative. We can tell a difference, but until it’s completely closed in with the door and some window shades on that large west facing window we won’t know for sure.

  • @pamjamas

    Have you decided what you are going to do for the ceiling? If I remember correctly you were originally going to to install it first so you could cob up to it. Wood planks would look awesome. As you won’t need to much, you might be able to find a small lot of hardwood flooring pretty cheap. MLH used laminate they bought from someone online.

    Do you make cheese with your goat milk? When I had milk goats I would make my own cheese. I found the simplest way was to put the milk in my crockpot on the lowest setting. Cooking it for hours until the curds and whey separated. I would then hang the curds in cheese cloth from a cupboard handle over a bowl. Whey has a lot of nutrients in it too.
