I have been using the steel spacers and it helps but the upper bulkheads are prone to breaking if your bashing hard. I check them for cracks after each bad landing. I have replaced a few.
Awesome stuff David 🤗. HUGE thanks to my buddy Manny for sharing this Killer mod with me. It's been a game changer for sure. Nice job with the exact details Brother 👌and overall update on the XMaxx. I'd agree she hasn't liked those huge flat landers onto concrete 😱🤣🤣. Have a great weekend my friend!!!! 🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
GREAT UPGRADE!!!! I’m so shocked, my xmaxx I really can’t brake after years of mods, but I would destroy some cars you have good luck with. I think it comes down to driving style. See upgrade Bars&Tone. I may need to try it? 👏👍💯👊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another great bench video David. Great length explaining how to this mod. Mine has been holding killer. Has kept my bulkheads together. Had an awesome run with Bertha yesterday. She held up great throughout.
Yes sirr man other thin I gonna do for sure because I built 2 ramps,1 to the moon the 2 one long jump.thanks for the help always, but is your fault we are sending are rc cars to the moon.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.God bless u always man loyal sub here
Do you have to trim the arms or the bulk head down? Since the the arms fit tight, I would think that extra metal on the back of the bulk head would make it to think for the arm to fit around.
Good video 👍 but... I'm no expert, but having your shock screws cranked might not be good for the suspension mounting system... I've never broken a single upper bulkhead 🤷🏻♂️ (shock adjustment is kept in the middle on mine)
Thank you for this video. You said you got the hinge pin bolts from M2C but I can't find them on their website.i was using stainless steel bolts but the front upper ones keep braking. Maybe this mod will help.
@@BarstoneRC oh dam because I either keep bending or braking the stainless steel bolts. Thanks for the video I'm getting ready to do this mod maybe I won't break the bolts anymore
@mr me they came out with the same tire but supposedly with different material on the belting inside and stronger plastics that will not break supposedly but it's a different part number and they're $56 they're old ones are now 46 I think a pair
Hey I had someone tell me I need to do this mod to my XRT problem I found is the added post now are in the way hopefully they leave the xmaxx alone so this mod can still be done on them cool video 👌
@@BarstoneRC the rear can be done the front will definitely need another way on the XRT but the xmaxx maybe shave the post they added off as the XRT needs those post 🤔

Ohhh i like that mod and upgrade - deffo going to do that to ours - thanks
It has helped a lot with them shock towers and upper bulk heads breaking

Im still really hoping you'll get some of the new proline mx57 badlands, could be awesome on the outcast 8s or xmaxx
Thinking of building an xmaxx from the ground up.
All the upgrade you'll need make it way cheaper to do it that way.
Probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to try.
I would suggest to cut the bulkhead hinge pin holder shorter instead of cutting the A arms hinge pin holder
Handy upgrade... thanks for uploading this 👍🏻
Your welcome thanks for watching buddy

That’s awesome man now that mines all back together hopefully I can get a good run in now.
@@BarstoneRC Stay way far away from that skatepark LoL 🤣. No wall of Death ☠️ sends for the Xmaxx LoL 🤣
Lol yeah I think I’ve learned it doesn’t like that too much
That's a epic mod buddy, im slowly catching up with all the videos I've missed lol great video buddy good job 😉🤙💪
Yeah it’s definitely helping the bulkhead a lot
Thanks for posting 👌🏼
I swear Google is listening to me, I just broke mine yesterday and was just browsing on UA-cam and this video came up lol
Lol i’m pretty sure our phones are always listening to us lol. Hope you enjoyed the video
It happens all the time to me.
seems like it’s going to be very strong!!! that’s crazy you got snow 😂
Yeah I hope this stuff is gone when I get home lol
Great video~ Also curious what motor mount your running?
Thanks in advanced!
It’s the M2C mount.
thanks for explaining the mod ... cool vid D
Thanks bud

Lol i’m glad you’re enjoying it though buddy
I guess you could do the same modification to the rear bulkhead. I noticed there is only one metal tie bar on the rear as well.
Yeah I was going to I just haven’t got around to it yet lol
@@BarstoneRC would it kill Traxxas to just do this stock.
Nice! So all that is needed is M4 40mm flat head bolts and nuts? Thanks! I busted my front bulkhead from that area last time I went out.
In the extra Thai bar mount the steel piece.
Since the room between two ends of arm is for only one tie bar, do you file the arm or the bulkhead off for the second tie bar?
Thx for answering
I file the a arm a little
Nice one dave been waiting for this video to come out , thank you 👍🏻
Thanks for watching bud it definitely helps a lot.

Yes, you do have to shave the inside of the a arms out a little bit on both sides but it has caused no weakness I’ve never broke them.

I’ve broke so many I can’t even count. When the truck was bone stock or modified
Great idea! Can you do the same in back?
Yep.
Thank you for this video. You said you got the hinge pin bolts from M2C but I can't find them on their website.i was using stainless steel bolts but the front upper ones keep braking. Maybe this mod will help.
They’re not released yet on their site they will be very soon I was doing some testing with them
@@BarstoneRC oh dam because I either keep bending or braking the stainless steel bolts. Thanks for the video I'm getting ready to do this mod maybe I won't break the bolts anymore
Do you have to buy two paks of the tie bar parts right or just one
Just one
Can that be done on the rear also..?? Thanks
I believe so
Have you tried the new version of the dura trash yet
No I’m gonna be pretty hard-pressed to give them any more money
@mr me they came out with the same tire but supposedly with different material on the belting inside and stronger plastics that will not break supposedly but it's a different part number and they're $56 they're old ones are now 46 I think a pair
And the rear? do you just need to carve it up with a dremel?
I haven’t done the rear the back doesn’t seem to break as easy
I used a dremal and installed... All good!

Oh dang that stinks. Yeah this has saved
My XMAXX from breaking big time.have u broke the XRT in this spot?
@@BarstoneRC yes same spot
Dang, I wonder if there’s some other type of brace set up that could be engineered for this?
@@BarstoneRC the rear can be done the front will definitely need another way on the XRT but the xmaxx maybe shave the post they added off as the XRT needs those post 🤔
Great video man! Dang I wish I would have seen this before I bought $230 worth of vitavon upper bulkheads 🤣🤣
Lol sorry man but in the future this does work very well.
Wrench vid yeah bud...!!!
