In this Top 5, we take you through the highlights of the oldest city in our country: Nijmegen! If you've always wanted to visit this beautiful city on the Waal River, you shouldn't miss these highlights!
We start our top 5 in Valkhof Park, which can be seen right from the Waal Bridge. In this hilly park, you can admire ancient ruins and enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Waal River. From the park, we walk to our number four, the oldest shopping street in the Netherlands, namely the Lange Hezelstraat. After exploring the many boutiques, we step into the green heart of the city: Kronenburger Park. Here, we take a look at the waterfall and the unique tower, and with Frank Boeijen's hit playing in our ears, we head towards the city center for the number two on our list. The Stevens Church is the eye-catcher of Nijmegen and a true must-see! There are regular events, and with a guide, you can even climb the tower to view the city from above. After a successful trip, we end the day at the Grote Markt, the vibrant center of the city. Here, you can admire beautiful historical buildings like the centuries-old Waag and relax on one of the many terraces.
