underrated channel. you give us a lot of footage and tests from the actual drone instead of 90% talking heads.
Thanks 😊 yeh I've noticed some channels are just talking heads. They are good to learn from. But don't show much actual footage!
Agreed - Idaho Quadcopter and The Drone Guy are both very much about “I really fly these things all the time” as opposed to talk, talk, talk ….. Robin is coming into his own, and I personally like the unassuming presentation style.
That's the good thing about youtube. There are many different channels to enjoy, and we get a different style, and we can absorb the different information we receive. It's a great source, especially for tech, as we are real people showing how well the products work, and we're showing the real footage. 😀

Unfortunately its not available, i hope they add it in a future firmware update.

I noticed that Idaho Quadcopter has really struggled with the horizon view on his Atom. Expect he’ll post something soon on the updated firmware.

That's exactly why I bought it due to its low price. When I bought it I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish and was planning to test it and send it back to Amazon. But I'm definitely keeping it.
Yes, it's a lot milder around 13.c today. I think if I jumped in the pond, the drone would still track me!

I know you've had good results with your Potensic Atom, and I hate to keep referring to another UA-camr, but he did the updates and his last test seemed to be even worse. The video keeps breaking up and sometimes loses connection. It could very well be the location he keeps flying in, but it should be performing better no matter the location. To add to that, the Atom with the 3-axis gimbal is only $40 less than the DJI Mini2 SE. In my way of thinking, the decision is a no-brainer.
Mine did the same….since the update, the controller gets disconnected and have to hit return button, thankfully it came back all 3 times…..this firmware totally wrecked the controller and iPhone connection.

He must have a faulty unit. To win the drone wars if dji could enable tracking and waypoints on the mini 2se, then yes, most would go for the dji. I imagine someone new looking for a drone and see a drone cheaper than dji with tracking that they could use to track their dog, kids playing football ect..
They would consider the Atom
But someone who prefers a slightly larger sensor and high quality would choose the dji.
@@RobinDrones He flies other quads in the same area without difficulty, so it’s not the location. I guess the DJI, if nothing else, has a better reputation and seems to give more bang for the buck. Your continued testing will prove to be interesting.
Two issues I’d appreciate from you as you’re my 2SE guru. Horizon tilt problems with gimbal. And using ND filters. Please.
Im not sure about the gimbal tilt errors that you are getting. Have you tried doing a gimbal calibration?
If that doesn't work then you may have to send it in to dji for repair :(
And as for ND filters i have never used them yet...

I can't decide yet dji seems more accurate and Atom seems to have better colours. I need a blue sky day to do a video comparison. Thanks I will do, I'm looking forwards to the shortest day as every day after that will have more light 😉
The active track mode loses the subject and always wants to lock onto a different target. Also follows super far away, can you set the follow distance?
Was using it to follow a car for cinematic video, and it decided halfway through to lock on to the top of a tree instead lol
Yes I think you can set the distance by choosing the subject at your chosen distance.
Do me a favour, turn off the safety and info prompt on the bottom of the screen, bit distracting 😊 and not needed 😉

I've got this drone and when the gimbal is pointing directly down at 90 degrees, when you move forward or backwards it flicks up to 80%
Does anyone else's do this? Or is mine faulty?

My gimbal on the Atom is rock solid. However, I have that issue with my Dji mini 2 se. It could be faulty, but it's fairly common on these sub 250g drones. If it does it on video mode or normal mode then you may have an issue. If it only does it on sports mode I wouldn't worry so much.

Hi, Potensic claim the update has 3x Digital Zoom. But I only ever can find 2x which I've only ever seen on yourself and other users, any ideas if it's hidden or in another setting?
I haven't seen it but I'm guessing it's only available if you shoot in 1080p?

It supports 2x digital zoom in photo mode and up to 3x digital zoom in video mode
1080P and 2.7K support 3x digital zoom, and 4K support 2x digital zoom

@@RobinDrones I HAVE the SE STANDARD NON 3 GIMBAL MODEL AND IT DOES NOT UPDATE NOT HAD ANY VERSION FIRMWARE AT ALL SINCE DECEMBER
Oh, I doubt you'll get the digital zoom on that model as it doesn't have a gimbal, so it already crops in on the sensor due to its electronic stabilisation.
Also, both the se and the gimbal version have a small 1/3 inch sensor anyway.
So by zooming in, you would get a very low quality quality picture.

I just downloaded this update and for the most part my Atom works better... However I have tried several micro SD cards and I still get jumpy video on 4K. 2.7K works fine and 1080... but now in "Sport" mode the thing will go over 30 mph!!! I have been taking it easy because I have crashed and or lost several drones... But if anyone has any suggestions, let me know...

I think his as has been fixed now, but the signal breakup is still an issue for him 🤔
Good run down of the FW uodates! Lol, cant lose this one for trying, lol! I do think a pair of beeps is perhaps a bit subtle..i guess if its loud enough. Pretty sure Marcus @ Idaho Quadcopter Channel needs a replacement drone. Not sure why Potensic keeps asking him to update when the transmision FW hasn't been modified!
Yes he should definitely get a replacement. Yes I wish we had the option to choose how many beeps. But it's a handy feature. I like the silent return option, dji should do this as the bleeping is super annoying 😑
So, in the settings, move the slider, and when you return home, to turn off the sound, press the power/on key on the remote control.
Hi Robin i had tested the new rel. Of potensic pro. I think that the maximum rang test is decreased ! Limited Max 250 mt ! I aspect the new patch or rel from potensic's software house as son of possible !

You're all welcome for the new timer photo countdown mode. I emailed them about adding a countdown timer for taking pictures so that you can take a photo of yourself and not have to be holding the remote. They reached back out and were like that's a great idea. Be in the lookout for that feature in our newest update lol

Great To See Good Improved Firmware Updates Coming Along Swiftly Now To Get This Great Little Drone Even Better (Active Track And Camera Zoom) . Sports Mode Is Quick Too. The Price Of What You Get For Your Money( Fly Combo Kit) Is The Key Winner Here.

@@RobinDrones Yes And Gave Them Both A Good Flight Test Before They Received This Drone To Make Sure They Both Worked And Flew Properly. No Flying Issues Found With These Two Drones At Present, The Atom Drone Product (Seems Safe And Reliable To Fly) In Sub 250 Gram Weight Limit Flying Areas. Have A2Cofc.
