Watching all you guys on you tube encouraged me to buy equipment. Used cat d4 a Takeuchi TB 290 excavator with only 200 hours on it. Buying one and getting on it is how you learn. I enjoy my side work. Land clearing is my favorite work. Plan to expand in the future. Thanks guys for what you do.
Awesome machine and glad to meet you Mr. Smith. I met cotontop3 on letdig18 pond building video. Cotontop3 is a very good dozer operater but him and Chris was freaking me out because i cant remember who was running the off road truck but it kept getting stuck on the edge of a 25 foot pond dam and i was like what are yall doing hes going to flip that thing. The driver didnt flip and they done a amazing job on the pond build. Great video guys and god bless you both .
Man that’s wild, to go from only 6 minutes on a dozer to owning a brand new Cat!! The bravest thing I saw was him risking you farting in the seat 1st!!🤣🤣🤣
@Brenton. I actually disagree he took a risk letting Cotontop on the seat. A fart on the seat would have actually increased the resale value of this fine unit. You know, sorta like an autograph.🤣🤣🤣
That's a brilliant dozer, CAT have got better and are a very, very good make, they've come a long way over the last few years.Reall nice of him to let you drive his new baby. 👍
I LOVE seeing a dozer so new that the paint hasn't even worn off the grouser pads or the cutting edge of the blade. Then again, heavy equipment will snap my head around for a double-take the way exotic sports cars do for others lol.
I appreciate you taking the time to deal with us nobodies. Lindsey is a good guy, we talk a little bit. I appreciate you responding to my email. I ended up ordering a new 080 for mulching.
Can't beat a cat dozer especially the bigger they get , that glove box you opened by your feet is where the screen for the catgrade GPS system goes I would love to see you try that out to see your reaction it really is pretty amazing
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this day. I hope to give back to someone one day like what you did for me. I'm excited for the future and hope to see you and Rook on a job together. I'll be sure to show up and get in the way 😂
Great dozer love the caamras on you can't beat CAT yellow sounds nice 👍👍 I love the over head bars a fair bit of horses power to great D3 have a great time
Probably would be expensive but I would buy some screens to go all the way around that bad boy. Also, he might want to carry one of his chain saws in his truck at all times because as you know Tim a tree can get over that blade in a blink lol. When that happens if it's a tree of any size you cant lift it off and a saw comes in mighty handy to cut it up and get it out of there.
@@mikeznel6048 don't work with my dozer. I mean you could lodge one end against a tree and turn one way or the other and maybe get it out. Good way to destroy some hydraulic lines or other stuff.
CottonTop, I just finished watching Chris Letsdig18 digging test holes for a new pond project he’s got coming up when the weather gets right again and from what I heard him say! The pond and it’s located that the pond dam is going to be 25 feet tall brother! You might just be getting a call from Letsdig18 again brother! That would be amazing seeing y’all working together again! He dug some test holes and it looks like he’s got some good clay material to work with for the pond dam! Just saying, with Chris you never know what he’s got going on! But he’s got the equipment now and he’s going to be digging his own pond at his farm as soon as the weather permits it! Probably between jobs he’ll work on his pond! Thanks for sharing this video brother, I always enjoy watching you run equipment too my friend! Kirk from Louisiana! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I like to pause in the neutral position for about a second when when shifting from forward to reverse, and vise versa. The transmissions are built to accept the direct change, but it just doesn't seem right to do it though. Great video, and wish him quick learning.
11:38 BINGO my friend!!..always set your ground as close to what you are welding as possible!!..you could actually leave everything hooked up as long as you ground close to your rod strike and not have a problem but I would still never do that!..I know some pro welders they don’t bother disconnecting anything but they always ground within a foot of what they’re welding!…for me it’s pretty cheap to flick the battery disconnect or drop a ground before I start burning rods…anyway great video’s guys!!
We bought a new D1 Mulcher last August. It’s a sweet little machine, we’ve put around 700 trouble free hours on it so far. Thompson Cat should be ashamed for putting their decals on crooked like that! That’d be the first damn thing that came off if it was mine.
With your experience running equipment you could start doing land management and make really good money there's not many people that do land management
Been waiting on his video on this. That's a sweet dozer. I have a 2000 model D3c lgp. It looks ancient compared to that. Amazing how much machines have changed in a little over 20 years...
HI CT the dogs like that new paint smell 2 let a dog 🐶 ride in a new truck 🚚 then watch his tail going when he is going down the road W windows down they will turn there 🤕😊 up smelling the air 😊😊 OMG 7 26 2O23
Cat has very little to learn in the making of fine earth moving equipment. You pay a premium for those three letters on the side of the machine, but that's a premium totally worth the money. When it goes for resell you will get it back. Easily. I bought a Case dozer and I'll never get anything back from it. Nice machine, but it's not a Cat. You can run this thing hard for a few years and damn near get what you paid for it in the right market.
The smaller cat dozers with the 6-way blade I'll take a John Deere over a Cat any day my reason for that look at the hydraulic cylinders for the blade and look where the hydraulic lines are that seems like a really bad place to put hydraulic lines John Deere they put their lines on top so they're protected that's my opinion my two cents
I really do enjoy All of your videos that I watch sorry I don’t watch them all, I am wondering if you have an ASV dealer close enough to you because I would love to get your perspective on the ASV compact track loader
I’ve operated many wheel skid loaders and about 10 minutes on a very worn out Mustang CTL in the last 20 years and as far as my wheel to track experience 👍👍👍👍 I’ve also watched many videos of other brands of CTL, I know that they all have their strong points but I really like what I see in the track width, high flow auxiliary hydraulics as well as hydraulic and engine cooling compared to other brands. They also seem to get a little more operating capacity with a little less horsepower particularly in the smaller models. The Case DL550 minotaur is very intriguing also but I am confident that Dirt Perfect will give the world his honest opinion after he finishes helping case with on the Job R&D
Nothing any better than good people meeting and getting to hangout with each other. It's always good to have talented good friends.
Yes sir

So true!
Dozers are the only good thing about cat
that next Gen D3 looks bigger than our D4
Its awesome to see the brotherhood when it comes to UA-cam. Thanks for looking out for the little guys like us. Aloha.

Love those wide tracks!

Cat D1,D2 and D3 are made right outside Athens, Georgia. American made!
Very cool!
Poking buttons hoping one isn't the intruder eject button. Lol. Great trip man

Sounds like he will need a root rake Tim to have on hand.
We have the cat d4 and it’s the easiest to use best dozer I’ve ever ran, thoroughly enjoy running it
Good to hear
Me personally a dozer is the best piece of equipment to operate
Get a surge protector you can clip it right on the battery for when your Welding
That caterpillar d3 is beautiful caterpillar is without a doubt the best
It really is!
I can smell the fresh paint from here.
Good stuff! The visibility of this cat looks similar to the Komatsu.
That's because they copied it .
I bought one a year ago, about time to do my review on it, it's a great machine, you won't regret it. I got the standard width tracks though.
Great to hear!

It was rolling!

This D3 is equipped with hydrostatic transmission or hyraumatic transmission, if anybody knows, plz inform.
TIM there’s nothing like the connection that you make between your encounters with neighbors!! God bless you and your new endeavors..
Same to you!
Beautiful machine! So I heard you say Columbus in the video. Are y'all near Columbus GA, or somewhere Alabama or Mississippi?
Mississippi
The 6 in 306 is metric tons
That is not exactly going to accurate because 6 metric tons is a tad over 13k pounds and a 306 comes in right at 16k pounds.
THANKS!
You're welcome!
lucky dog!!!
So he got rid of that excavator and got the dozer?
He has another excavator
Very nice
Thanks for sharing this NC USA 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
The LGP means light ground pressure, correct? As wide as those tracks are, I'm sure that thing floats pretty well.
Low ground pressure.

Hi Tim, what is your friend UA-cam address ?
Remember to top off ur hydraulic fluid with the DEF additive makes it run real nice.
