Being a native Bangalorean, yet a lover of kerala cuisines and extremely distant from kerala cuisine, I was too skeptical about trying my hands at appam.. last night i decided that I'll give it a try and looked up the recipe on YT and this was one of the very first videos to pop up..i immediately recognized Mahima chechi since I had watched the whole season of dhe chef..how can I forget her standards of cooking!!!.. I just watched the recipe and followed the recipe.. last night I prepared the batter and let it ferment overnight and prepared appams for breakfast today...i also watched her puttu kadla curry recipe and prepared kadla curry...wow...the result was amazing and appams turned out perfect and we don't get that taste even when we order in from kerala restaurants in Bangalore..they were soft and fluffy in the center and crispy at the edges..they were delicious...thank you so much Mahima chechi..🙏. I'm sure this will be a frequent breakfast option going forward in my household..❤❤
Mam… i tried this, i have to say… it tasted exactly like the appam that we get in restaurants… you’re tips… and your exact measurements of ingredients did really help ( except for water, as i added some more after checking the consistency) 😊

You can make appam using coconut water instead of yeast. But that depends on the weather of the place you live. If you are in Kerala, it is possible to make appam without yeast. Might take 8 -10 hrs to ferment without yeast
In your description ingredients you have not mentioned semolina 2tbsp. Also what you mean by rice flour is it dosa or idli rice. Please advise as your appams are yummy
