    I just wanted to say a big thank you for this video... I know you've past away but you are still helping people 😊 it's 1am here in Canada and my father and I just finished putting my turbo back together.... We thought we were when the plunger came out and lost its timing.. so again a big thank you for the time you've invested and rest in peace knowing you are still helping us power stroke guys 😊

    whats exciting is when you find it off by a tooth then get it all back together. The smile on the customers face when he puts the pedal down and it feels like a new engine.

    Does anybody know if this can be off if it's not been removed. I played with the arm to make sure it was free but never removed the plunger

    Hey Ron is there a way to tell using the scangauge without taking the valve apart by looking at the VGT pid? Say its running between 50-70 idle to 2000 rpm when you should be getting say 30-90 just throwing numbers out there. Thanks

    Ron, My 2003 F250 thru a P0675 code. I replaced #1,#3,#5 and #7 glow plugs, that seemed to resolve the problem. Then a month later I got the same fault code any suggestions????????

    Hey Ron - I have a 2004 6.0 that has lost power during acceleration and blows thick black smoke, especially from a dead stop. If I am already moving and try to accelerate the motor gets very quiet. I replaced the EGR cooler a year ago with a bulletproof diesel cooler. I thought the EGR valve was going out again so I replaced it and this did not fix the issue. So I just unplugged the EGR valve and the truck has more power than it ever has. I know the quick fix would be just to run the truck with the valve unplugged but there has to be something causing this. Any ideas? Thanks for your help and your videos!

    Hey Ron I'm working on a 2006 E350 6.0 and I changed the main engine harness due to misfire when pulling on the harness. Well now I've installed the new one in and everything in the van reads good like icp over 500 psi ,reg pressure 42% while cranking ficm main power never goes below 45v but the sync never says yes. Also throws a code p2614 cam position sensor circuit open. I checked all the wires and even the signal with a scope and if the harness is new I don't see an issue with the wiring. Can you place help me customer is really impatient and we're really out of ideas. Thanks

    Will this cause a truck to be slow on exceleration but be able to hit 21lbs of boost up a hill?

    Dan....
    I'm looking for a video referencing headlight failure. Both of my headlights went out at the same time. Based on diagnostics done so far both head light bulbs are good. Both left and right low beam fuses are good. I can get both lights to come on using high beam flash leaver or using multifunction switch. Everything I can find on the topic points to the multifunction switch being bad, but I'm stuck as to testing at this point. Please help!!

      Ancient question, but this is a problem that affects all these trucks eventually. The electrical contacts inside the turn signal switch lose their springiness so one head light at first, then both, stop working. You can replace the turn signal switch or take the switch apart and bend the copper contacts so they make a connection again.

    Hey Ron, Great videos, I have a 95' 7.3 with a different set up on the turbo, is there a way to set the plunger to make it correct as you did with the one in this video. Thanks.

    Hey Ron,
    What happens if I didn't mess with indexing the turbo after cleaning it? I did that and nothing else, but now I have almost zero boost. At around 3K RPM, it will slowly spool up to about 15lbs. Getting DTC P0046 also. No problems prior to turbo removal.

      have the same problem did you figure it out?

    • @jtnoodle
      @jtnoodle 8 років тому

      +Andrew Silva it was the wiring to the turbo. melted together down near the engine. peeled the two wires off each other and ran fine.

    • @drusr

      Thanks bud. I overlapped the wires straight from Pam to vgt.. Im so confused lol it's a new vgt and I cleaned the turbo

    @dieseltechron Hey ron i have a blown turbo seal. smokes blue on take off. cant fix it for 6 days. i unplugged the vgt soloniod. and it stoped smoking blue on take off.. can i drive it this way to get by then when i fix the seal, can i clean the turbo and put in that new seal? or is it bad to drive around the city like that? there not long drives..

    • @DieselTechRon
      @DieselTechRon  8 років тому

      Without the vgt operating properly you can over boost. If I was stuck and had to limp it home I would make sure not to give it over 1/4 throttle or try to monitor the boost. I wouldn't drive it unless I had to. with your vgt fixed your air to fuel ratio will be off most of the time also possibly running cylinders too hot.

    • @Zero12495
      @Zero12495 8 років тому

      +DieselTechRon soo I do got a boost gauge. egr delete all that bulletproof stuff. that seal gave out. and i can't walk it.income pays for that seal. I'll baby it then? I have the sct 5015. too much fuel will make the cylinders run hot or the egts?

    • @DieselTechRon
      @DieselTechRon  8 років тому +2

      +no egr is worse. Programming can use it as a waste gate. Temps will show when that part of the engine is running hot. Depending on where the sensor is. How bad is the smoke or oil usage? I would rather have a little smoke than over boost. I've seen over boost on studded motors push injectors out, break the charge air cooler and of course head gaskets. If you're going to do it just drive it light and watch your gauge. You're going to lack major power high or low most likely. I don't see why unplugging it changed it but you're there not me.

    • @Zero12495
      @Zero12495 8 років тому

      +DieselTechRon yeah It was really weird because it smoked on take off 0-15mph and then unplugged it and had zero smoke on takeoff blue smoke that is.. I mean id say that is a turbo seal. going to pull it soon but there is oil in the exhaust side not alot but misty prints. The smoke is quite abit.. like if a puddle is forming inside the turbo. Havnt gone through much oil yet. only cause i just noticed this after coming back from the coast. and it was def noticeable.
