Well New Zealand, that's it, the last episode from Arrowtown... OK, sure, we're still in New Zealand and will film a lot more videos, but as far as this enormous serious in the campervan go - that's it! We arrived in Queenstown a few days back, drove from Queenstown to Lake Hayes for our incredible accommodation in an amazing modern cottage right on Lake Hayes.
Arrowtown sits in the Arrow Basin, which was carved by the great glaciers of ages past. Gold was first found in 1862, leading to a huge influx of gold hunters from around the world and an eventual boom in the area. Year round there's only about 2,000 people that live in Arrowtown, but given how unique the town is, and how true to the gold mining days of old, it's a popular spot for tourism. There's a nostalgic kind of feeling walking the streets, something you don't get in places like Queenstown that are far more commercial.

I first travelled here with my dad and my sister circa 1954, towing a tiny, two-wheeled caravan that dad had built from a design that he got from the Popular Mechanics magazine. It looked just like Cinderella's pumpkin. I was 4 years old and it was one of the best times of my life. Your vlogs are great. This is the land of my childhood. You have also managed to find places that were only known to the locals when I was growing up, such as Curio Bay, which was once only accessible via a bush track on a local farm, followed by a walk along the beach. Curio was the 3rd bay along, and the fossilised ferns were common still. Some of the ridges were pink and white as well. No buildings. No roads. Just coast and sky; Bush and beach. Thank you so much for triggering memories for me. ❤🙏

Fell in love with Queenstown, Arrowtown, Franz Joseph Glacier and The Bay of Islands way back then. I have travelled back there many times, in all seasons, including skiing Queenstown after I took up skiing in my late 40s. My last visit was a cruise around both islands in 2014 which I loved. I also had the pleasure of living and working in Auckland for 3 months in 1973. You may have gathered by now my absolute love of your beautiful country, so thank you once again for this amazing trip down memory lane. ❤️😊

My wife and I only recently discovered you while searching for videos about the Cook Islands. This camper van series has been fantastic. We started searching for RVs to rent. We've also started watching your vlogs from the beginning, 001. The two of you are great together and we hope the world can get back to the "old normal" soon so you can travel more and inform and entertain us with more of your great vlogs.

We are so sad that this series has ended but what an amazing journey you took us all on! Absolutely adored this series. Feeling a bit teary that it's over! Queenstown is my favourite place in the world too, but Arrowtown has a special place in my heart for another reason: when I was travelling around NZ over a decade ago, I got to Q-town and completely ran out of money - I couldn't even afford a meal or a hostel bed, and was sleeping in a bus stop. A very kind couple from Arrowtown actually took me in and let me stay with them for a few weeks and even found me a job. Kiwis are the nicest people on the planet. Thank you for taking me on this trip down memory lane haha, can't wait to see what you guys get up to next :) x

Have been enjoying your videos of NZ, we went for 3 week RV camping in 2017, LOVED IT, now going back in Oct2022 for 4 week RV camping trip, you showed us some great camping places in South Island, 2 months to go!!! We think we could go back every year, MAHALO FROM HAWAII! Ron

Congratulations, I've so loved your series. My family moved to NZ when I was a kid, but later I returned to the UK and settled in London. I've been back enough times to have covered virtually the same route that you followed, from Cape Reinga to the Catlins Coast and it brought it all back so vividly. We did motels, and the NZ motels are great, even the non-luxury ones.
Two caveats I always give to potential tourists : 1. the NZ sun is WAY stronger than the UK sun. Don't get fooled by the temperatures as you can get very badly burnt. 2. When travelling on the West Coast NEVER wear shorts and sandals, particularly if, like me, you are an insect attraction, as the sandflies will leave you with burning bites that will leave you itching like a maniac for days afterwards.
Those are 2 very important tips! We got attacked by sandflies on a summer trip to the west coast but strangely didnt have the same experience in winter. The sun is no joke over here, even though we know that, it still catches us off guard sometimes!

I've been watching your travels for years now and you guys have made some pretty epic videos in so many amazing locations. But this series is your best ever. Yes, NZ is a stunning place, but it's the way you have presented it that makes this your best ever series. Touring in Aston was a brilliant idea as it allowed you real access to so many places. You are right to be proud of this series because it is your best yet and that's saying something! As often happens in life, adversity- in this case the challenge of the covid restrictions, actually gave you an opportunity to do something different and you took that opportunity and ran with it. We used to go down every November before the tourists arrived. It was gorgeous. I first went 68 years ago and stayed with a girlfriend and her parents were. It looked pretty much the same then only EVERYTHING was shut or boarded up. It had to be the worst holiday of my life. The house had a long drop and there was nothing for children to do. Not even swings
Oh nooo!! That definitely doesnt sound too fun. Although seeing the town with no tourists sounds like a dream!

Beautifully and professionally made. I loved every moment of the Reveal New Zealand vlogs and watched many of them more than once. I can't say enough about how excellent the video quality and perfectly timed music was and how it all came together in one of the most enjoyable UA-cam series I have experienced. This was genuinely an amazing series. I found myself checking youtube more frequently to see if any new videos had come out from you both and I watched every episode glued to the screen. You both reminded me of the love I experienced in New Zealand and how much I yearn to be back in a heartbeat. Thank you for highlighting the beauty of NZ's people, the culture and the landscapes while being authentic and grounded explorers. Sad to see this series come to an end, but feeling grateful to be supporting your next adventure :)
