- Queenstown in winter you say? But what if you're not into skiing? Queenstown is our fav place in New Zealand so in this vlog we travel to the South Island to see what it's like in the coldest season... If you're a long time sub you already know, we LOVE Queenstown. We honestly thought we'd start to get a bit sick of it, or maybe the gloss would wear off, if we visited to often - but of all the places in New Zealand we happily go back to Queenstown is right at the top.
We typically visit in summer through, or at least avoid the winter months because of the cold and how busy it can get. For this trip we went during the shoulder month of late June and can confirm it was 100% the right decision!
Going with friends and having amazing accommodation, transport and some nice restaurants and bars lined up definitely helped... although that's pretty obvious if you've watched the video already haha, safe to say it was a fun weekend.

@@christiescheimer6681 Oh that's actually an easy one, cos Queenstown Ice Bar is the newest the clothing is brand new (big plus, lots of people wear them!) the sculptures are unreal and everything felt super clean and modern in a way... to us, that's big!
Great place to visit guys, very close to home. Always like Ice Castles, hotels and restaurants. Have you ever been to Quebec City and visited and stayed at an Ice Hotel ? It's quite unique.

We went to Queenstown from Welly last year in June and was not prepared for how cold it was. It was also super quiet as the international flights hadn’t restarted. Need to go back again.
I bet you were prepared for the wind, being Welly locals and all, but yeah it can get bloody freezing there huh!
Loved this vlog - were in Queenstown last year for 4 days and had had the worst cold ever… ut, hiw good is the Ferg? Took the locals tip and ordered ahead on the SS Earnslaw - yelling our order over the steam engine “two tropical swine”. All ready when we docked!
Were you sick while you were in town? If so, that's a shame but hopefully you still had an epic time. You know we've still not been on the Earnslaw, it was in for repairs when we went to book last

How do you fly your drone near cities like Queenstown as most cities have airports and are typically within no fly zone areas? Thanks.
We don’t sadly. We get drone footage from the local tourism board so we don’t break rules, it sucks.
