Another epic episode guys! That wild landscape, the crazy wind, the sketchy slippery road, the fossilised forest and those incredible oysters 👌 What a contrast this experience is to your Thailand videos of a few years back. I reckon your series is the best advert for New Zealand out there and their tourist board should be giving you a call! 👍
Thank you Stacey and Dane. I've loved your video tour. I plan on my own campervan tour of NZ, and especially getting to spend quality time re-visiting the South Island, many many years after moving north.
Haircut looks great Daneger! Love watching your vlogs, you both are so fun and pleasant. Even when things don't go the way you hope, you're still chipper and upbeat. LOVED seeing Purakanui falls through you guys! So beautiful!
Stunningly great video! The two of you are just the best together especially filming and narrating a travel VLOG. Once again...awesome slow mo video that was absolutely captivating. Drone shots that captured the coastline and music to blend it all together. And oysters...heck yeah. Well done beautiful ones!
I heard of Bluff Oysters in an ad for NZ lotto. This was on TV2, yes I got addicted to Shortland Street in Rarotonga since my 1997 visit. It was great to see the very blowy south of the South Island. Great video. Cheers guys. From Philip in Melbourne.
I love oysters and prefer them raw with a few drops of japanese ponzu sauce on it and nothing else. And I love chewing them. Delicious! I continue to be amazed how you are finding places that have nobody around! Those waves looked treacherous by the way. But a rugged beauty like Big Sur here in California. Loved the vlog and series!!
We did out trip from the Scottish Borders to NZ in April / May 2019, we loved it. Your Vlogs have been a great way to look back especially while we are in another lockdown. We went to Nugget Point and stayed at Curio Bay, we saw a penguin! Taking the video from the spot you were stood at lamenting not seeing them. We have a video if you are interested. Keep up the great channel, restrictions allowing!
I don't know why but I feel so annoyed for you guys this video hasn't been up for more then a day and already has 2 dislikes it's so unnecessary for people to show that they dislike something i loved the video btw I've been a subscriber for ages, love it❤️
I've never quite come to terms with oysters. Cooked ones are fine but a bit ordinary. Raw ones can be a bit like salty snot but it seems like the genuine experience. I'm visiting the South Island in April, partly to be in bluff oyster season and I'm going to give them a go.
Your sing a long was a joy;) This is another amazing 💎 of a discovery. Seriously, you two are the best NZ ambassadors. When you visit us in New Orleans you'll LOVE the char grill oysters at our famous Drago's. $12 for 12 is the ultimate deal. Best wishes, James and Kim
😂 Our vocals need a bit of work! That sounds like an awesome deal. I (Stacey) absolutely loved New Orleans, one of my favourite parts of the USA. Can't wait to take Dane there someday.
OYSTERS !!!! Can't get enough of them, especially since we are landlocked in the state of Ohio. They fly them in, but it's never the same as at the shore. Great roadtrip you two, well done !
Hey, you two, great vid and beautiful scenery. The access track and falls are almost a carbon copy of Russel Falls in Tasmania. You should check it out. If memory serves, there might even be some 'tunnel' canopy to satisfy your craving!
Great video, very impressive scenery once again. Glad Aston survived the high winds, did look kind of scary making your way along some of those roads. Good that you both enjoyed the oysters in the end: another fear faced for Stacey, haha. I've only had cooked oyster myself, but would definitely give those raw ones a try.
DONT DO THAT!!!!! 🤣. #manlyscream hahaha. What a cool place a preserved beach forest. Very cool. Some big seas and rough land love that kind of location. What trip you have had. Although been a lack of hot tubs in the south islands 🤣. Again it looks spectacular place.
😂 We were verrrryyyy passionate about the conservation of the petrified forest. The south really needs to sort their lack of hot tubs out - especially since it's actually cold down there!
So pleased you ventured this far south...we had a holiday home at Nugget point, you passed it on the way to the lighthouse and I've spent many holidays there as a child.. Bluff oysters are the best in the world, pleased you got there, however, disappointed you didn't spend time in Invercargill...it's not the toilet that people north of the Bombays think it is.. Lots to see and do.. Yes, it's been a bit windy, but wait a few hours...!! By the way...no floods here, how's the North Island been lately...😏😏
What an incredible place to have a holiday home 😍If we had more time we definitely would have. We're from Auckland and have nothing against Invercargill :) we'll just have to come back one day! Considering we're experiencing a water shortage, we really wouldn't complain about flooding 😉
@@DaneAndStacey Good to hear, I just get sick of everyone bagging the south...next time you gotta try Blue Cod also.. Really enjoyed your vids, places I've been, seen and not seen...especially Marlborough/Golden Bay etc. A trip on a mail boat from Picton is also on my bucket list..
Daneger and Stacey, I am so happy to have found your Channel. Your videos are absolutely awesome. I have been to New Zealand 8 times, from the very tip of the North Island to Invercargill and many places in between. I love your spectacular country! Keep up the great work, the videos are giving me more inspiration to visit other places when the boarders reopen and I can land there once again......is the QF Tavern on Queen Street still trading?.... I love that bar!! Best Wishes, stay safe from here in Liverpool, England.
Wow the wind waterfall was beautiful 🥰 that seaweed how unusual🤔 i am not a fan of oysters infact many seafoods. Aww your Trip coming for the end its been absoluut an amazing stunning adventure of your beautiful country Thank you so much for taking us along 😜 Stay safe.
Everything in this episode reminded me so much of Scotland. The sheep with lambs, there being no where to eat because the odd place that does exist was shut, the crazy winds, raw wild beaches and coastlines, the seafood, something tells me I'll like the deep south when I make it there! Sad to know it's coming to an end soon though 😞
Kudos for handling the elements with that huge campervan. Those are rare in my country, so don't even think I have the skills to drive one, but it's cool to see your experience. Ps: The AAAAAH moment is the highlight of this video, for sure!
Oh maaan, I'm really homesick now! I practically used to live at Curio Bay campsite and surf all around the Catlins. Best surfing beach break in NZ (of course I'm biased). Great vid, thank you. Now I want a dozen Bluff oysters for breakfast...
Oysters? I am so over oysters. You know the old saw where oysters are supposed to make you all sexy and virile? Don't believe it! I ate 12 of them once, and only 8 of them worked.
We toured NZ in April / May 2019 and did many of the same places you did in the South Island... We stayed at Curio and went to Nugget Point... We saw the penguins, we have a video if you are interested, taken right from where you stood, lamenting about not seeing them!!!
We've had blue cod before so wanted to try something different :) Definitely!! We could say the same about Auckland weather, very up & down!! But we will definitely come back when we get the chance!
Wow you travelled all the way down to Bluff and didn't try Mutton Birds. I'm drooling at the thought. Boil Up or even Roasted yummmmmmmm I realise it may have been the wrong season but all you need to do is ask a Local. They're all mighty friendly and are probably as proud of the birds as they are their Osters. Did I mention I'm drooling at the thought hmmmmm
I want to take a moment to thank and commend the two of you for persevering under difficult circumstances. You have excelled in your recent New Zealand series and each episode was delightful. I find myself intrigued by a country I hadn't given much consideration to only a year ago. Well done. You are a joy to watch. Wishing you a wonderful holiday. Cheers from Vienna, Austria!
Really loving your adventures around NZ, we are looking at coming in May to check out the South Island, one of many trips over the last 20years. I was very interested in your map of NZ that you use for your graphics, can you please tell me where you downloaded it.

Haha my new catch phrase strikes again!! Wow that's a great price (especially compared to what we just paid!) Maybe I need to come to the UK and try the smaller ones first 😂
Bluff oysters are without doubt the best in the world..When I was in the UK a chef asked me if I had tried them as he did when he was here...He was insanely jealous when I told him I live 35 km from the oyster beds.. Expensive now, but worth it..
We’re disappointed too, Jude. Not with Bluff though, just with the storm. Taupo, the Catlins and Taranaki didn’t get great showings either (among others), that’s just life and travel 🤷🏼♂️
We risked it in Taupo with $10k+ worth of camera gear then decided it’s safest not to do that again 😳 No worries though, we want to visit Stewart Island so will do Bluff proud next time!
Any part of the video in particular? We check our audio levels religiously on headphones and our studio speakers, a bit gutted to hear that it’s not up to scratch

Fish & chips in the car/van in the p*ssing rain and a howling gale could not be more Scottish. In summer, obviously.
Haha love it! rain and gale force winds aside, we still love Scotland
I want to try that famous Oysters someday 🤤
Bluff oysters are without doubt the best in the world..When I was in the UK a chef asked me if I had tried them as he did when he was here...He was insanely jealous when I told him I live 35 km from the oyster beds..
Expensive now, but worth it..
Green BONE is ok BLUE COD is yum yum
We like blue cod too! Wanted to try something new / different :)
You eat your oysters whatever way you want Stacey. Dammed be the nay sayers
LOVE THIS!!
you get more flavour if you chew oysters
Ooh I'm gonna tell people that next time they tell us off for chewing 🙄
Your GPS sounds bored
😂 Probably was bored after directing us for 3,000km
love this chanel
Stacy, you will have to dress Dane up in a black and white suit and call him a penguin
I think you're right! We were cracking up about how much I looked like a penguin in my long black puffer jacket 😂
History only goes back about 10 to 15000 years hunny. Not a million
😂Take it up with the scientists who discovered Curio Bay... They might disagree
Orrrrr read a Bible
Was watching the whole video just to see that "AAAAAAAA" Dane's moment! ;)
Haha nice! 😁
"that's some stupid shit right there!"
Kaka point
I am disappointed in your trip to Bluff. You showed absolutely nothing and we are so proud of our town.
We’re disappointed too, Jude. Not with Bluff though, just with the storm. Taupo, the Catlins and Taranaki didn’t get great showings either (among others), that’s just life and travel 🤷🏼♂️
@@DaneAndStacey HHHmmm It is only weather. You won't shrink you know lol
We risked it in Taupo with $10k+ worth of camera gear then decided it’s safest not to do that again 😳 No worries though, we want to visit Stewart Island so will do Bluff proud next time!
@@DaneAndStacey I hope so. Come down for The Bluff Oyster Festival. It is a great day and shows Bluff at its best.
Maybe its just because I'm getting older and less tolerant but God I'm finding millennials irritating.
Sadly, me too. I suspect all generations go though this. TBH, perhaps I was like this in my youth !
😍😍
😁😁
Don't do that!
Don't be that person 😂
Can hardly hear you because the background music is so damn loud!
Any part of the video in particular? We check our audio levels religiously on headphones and our studio speakers, a bit gutted to hear that it’s not up to scratch
@@DaneAndStacey The very beginning of your clip the music drowns you out, i dont know about the rest of the clip because i gave up trying to listen.
@@stuartlennox66 Cheers for that.
