You’re probably not expecting a comment, what, two years after posting this. But my wife and I, dopey Americans, have thoroughly enjoyed your adventures and patterned a lot of our month in New Zealand just now after your travels. We’re both older, late-50s, but your tips and insider information truly helped inform our itinerary. As partially retired photojournalists, every inch of your country was awe-inspiring. We even took to exclaiming - like Daneger did - “MAAAATE … mate!” whenever we were awestruck by something (which was often). We thank you both profusely for documenting your journeys. “Good job making it to the end; hopefully it was helpful?” It was wonderfully helpful. We’re glad we listened, MAAAATE. Rodney and Marci
Great overview, excellent advice e.g. winter travel, we love travelling in the winter for exact same reasons - off season, less people. Love also that you correctly pronounce Māori place names. Thanks for a great guide!
I just wanted to thank you guys. My wife and i stumbled upon your channel last year when we were planning our trip to NZ. We watched all your NZ content. It really shaped our whole trip in so many ways. Couldn't be more appreciative, and ill be recommending you guys to family and friends who plan to travel NZ and beond. Keep up the amazing content.
best video for NZ trip planning. this kind of content should be paid to watch. top notch video. video editing, shooting, voice over, shows a lot of effort have been put into it
Such a gorgeous couple! Just returned from Bali and followed a lot of your tips and suggestions for the perfect off the beaten track holiday! Thank you ❤ We are excited for our next adventure in a camper van through NZ!
You guys are killing it… I’ve been watching your videos NON-Stop for 2 weeks now, and can’t wait to use your recommended tips for when we come in November!
Epic guys. Just discovered this vid. Definitely going to check out the whole adventure in the coming months. I live on the Mandel and am keen to look into doing a few trips around so your vids will be gold. Cheers again
Thank you so much for this travel guide!! I’m about to embark on a 7 week road trip in NZ start north and then going south as well so this is so helpful!!
thanks for this very helpful video. We are travelling from Scotland and will be spending 5 weeks in NZ this Oct. still trying to put our itinerary together and decide on car or van rental.....
Thanks very much for the efforts you’ve put in to making an exciting and informative how-to and what-to series. Very helpful for this guy planning a trip from across the ditch!
Great way of ending the NZ adventure. Everything has a cost! I ran out the commercials hopefully helping on your revs. You guys are high production, do what you do best!
Loved your video guys! We pretty much had the same route back in 2019 and loved everything! New Zealand is a dream country! One more recommendation if you haven't done it already is the Great Barrier Island - north east of Auckland. It's a beautiful isolated place where you can unwind on the beaches, a nice hike up to a hot water spring (you barely find any people there) in the middle of a forest. And of course stargazing in the famous dark sky sanctuary!
This is so informative and thank you for making all these wonderful video. Can tell a lot of hard work put into it. I have enjoyed your videos very much.
I got under it after I was over there next year three weeks earlier. I didn't wait for him tomorrow after the spaghetti broke but the Samoyed said after it bit the roof Daryl became similar to the day.
I have just found your UA-cam channel and I am so pleased I have. I am hoping to have 4/5 weeks in New Zealand in March 2022 and coming over on my own from the uk it’s very overwhelming all the things I can do so I will be sure to watch all your videos!!!
Amazing video and series! Quick question: What app do you use in your 6 week campervan trip? I still haven't found a great one yet, so please let me know.
Hey guys just started watching your epic road trip around my homeland ..63yr old expat left in '85 ..live in Perth ...last road trips were with my daughter back in precovid days 2016 from Auckland across to picton..only had 2wks visiting friends n family abit rushed but packed in most as we could..2nd trip 2018 from Christchurch to Cape Reinga via hawkes bay coromandel to the Cape ..exploring and reminiscing on my childhood holidays ...enjoyed alot of traveling in my "youth"...hopefully soon we can get back to seeing other countries but as they used to say "don't leave town til u see the country"!good luck and happy travels even if its local look forward to any more travels soon
very interesting itinerary. Have you not done Doubtful sound? I did that on a day trip out of Queenstown and actually preferred it to the Milford Sound. I also did a helicopter flight up around Mount Cook from (I think) Franz Josef...though it could have been Fox. It was very early morning when we went up and the sun across the tops of the clouds was glorious, we also then landed on a snow field high up near the mountain. From Dunedin I also did the Taieri Gorge train trip. I could add a bunch of others but I understand you had to condense this video down, I just wonder if in those 6 weeks you managed any of the things I mentioned
We just finished our motorhome trip around the SI and this video was invaluable! Thanks for the tip about the bridge! Thought of Stacey when penguins came up to our motorhome in the middle of the night 🐧

Hi going next week- really useful video. Those drone shots are great- did you have any issues flying your drone in the South Island? Did you have get permits?
Fantastic video guys! We loved watching your entire journey but really love this summary. We dream of traveling to NZ someday after COVID. We're from California, USA.
Greetings from Santa Cruz Cali. Really enjoy your video's. Great way to stay connected to NZL. My wife and I have made three trips over the last 4 years (a month each trip) and can't wait to get back. The only region we haven't visited is East coast North Island. Cheers
Wow that's awesome you have managed to do that many trips! Hopefully you can come back sometime and do the east coast of the north! We're just in the process of planning a trip down that way!
Loved the video. I am planning on going in February and I was wondering whether the Heli hike in Fox Glacier will still be as good considering its the summer
I think they pretty much run year round and you might have a higher success rate of getting up there, but I'd say the glacier will be less impressive. In saying that, once you're on the ice it really doesn't mater - it's magical
We’re planning to go end of this year, your video was super helpful in planning! Just wondering how did you guys do the both coach and kayaking with Southern Discoveries? They only offer one or the other.
Hello! Me and my mate are off to New Zealand and renting a campervan and this video has been so useful for helping planning! I realise this is very late comment, but I was wondering how you found campsites to stay in and the prices of them. I was wondering if you used any good apps as I can’t seem to find any useful websites/apps for finding campervan parks!! Thank you again for all of your help!
I also saw you did freedom camping and was wondering if those places are easy to find (can you just stop on the side of a road etc) or if you need an app for them!
Very interesting video, it is a good break down of your New Zealand holiday. What a wonderful place New Zealand must be to live in, you guys are very lucky to live there. I live in Auckland, NZ and these guys did a fantastic job presenting our country to the world
Aw thanks Karen, we really appreciate that!
NZ is an overrated moldy failed attempt at a socialist project. The horse did plenty of damage during Covid. Avoid to live. Beware to visit.

Wonderful sharing and great virtual tour. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent work guys - we are in planning stages and found it very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Best couple, best video, best country. From Australia if you get a chance to explore NZ then don't second guess it...just go!
Every video I see praises the glacier trip. But it looks so lackluster? Could be me
I guess that means we've all failed at capturing it well enough, or it's just not your thing, which is OK too.
Not seen a more comprehensive holiday video than this! Thank you so much for this👌🏻
That's what we were aiming for! Thanks so much - happy to hear it!
You guys have a fabulous energy between you. Look amazing together
Thank you so much 🤗
Thanks so much for this. You guys are amazing. I've been interested in visiting NZ for years and now I want to come even more!
You're more than welcome Nicole!
Wonderful trip. Great Country. Great video. The Best hosts. What more could you want!
You're awesome, thank you!
thanks for this very helpful video. We are travelling from Scotland and will be spending 5 weeks in NZ this Oct. still trying to put our itinerary together and decide on car or van rental.....
Glad it was helpful! For the North island we think a car is best, South for a campervan
Thanks very much for the efforts you’ve put in to making an exciting and informative how-to and what-to series. Very helpful for this guy planning a trip from across the ditch!
Glad to hear Chris!

My friend & I plan to go to NZ in 2024. Planning on living in Campervan throughout the vacation..lol
You'll love it!
Guys, as usual top notch video production and thanks for providing the cost split-ups. 👍
You're welcome, we get so annoyed when people don't share that kind of info so make the effort to do it ourselves! Thanks so much :)
This is so informative and thank you for making all these wonderful video. Can tell a lot of hard work put into it. I have enjoyed your videos very much.

Very off topic, but that color blue compliments your skin so well, very beautiful! & great video!
Just booked a campervan for a solo trip around the South Island in August, cannot wait 😁 will be watching all your videos in the meantime!
That's so exciting!! Maybe we'll even film a season 3 before August 😂
This must have been a beast of a video to put together - good job
Haha you're not wrong! It took an insane amount of work but if we can help one person plan a similar trip then it's worth it! Thank you
Forget Ron & Bob, those turkeys. We love you and your content! Haha. Please keep it coming!
Hahaha too funny! Thanks so much :)

I just love NZ and would love to live there permanently 😍😍
Folowing is my opinion on spots I would have added to your trip although it would have been nearly impossible to squeeze those into the 6 weeks:
North Island:
Cape Reinga
Waipoua Kauri Forest
Tongariro Crossing
CASTLE POINT (My favourite place on the noth island!)
South Island:
Wharariki Beach
Arthur's Pass
Kaikoura
Christchurch
AKAROA (definetely one of my favorites on the south Island!)
Lake Tekapo
Wanaka (would have spent more time there)
Lake Manapouri/Doubtful Soud
Mildford Sound (Impressive to drive there on your own and equaly impressive to fly there from Queenstown!!)
We have done vlogs on a lot of the places you listed, just not on this trip. Great list though!! We just did the Tongariro Crossing too and it was epic, especially since they just went into winter conditions 😊
@@DanegerAndStacey Just watched your crossing yesterday.
It really is an epic hike and it was really cool to see it in winter conditions 🙂😍
