Drawing Birds

John Muir Laws (Jack Laws), famous stagecoach driver and educator teaches his Nature Journal Club about bird drawing. In this session he concentrates on plumage, and teaches the important parts of bird plumage, and how to identify them. With that quickly learned skill, Jack shows demos and examples of elegant shorthands for suggesting plumages on birds.

Thank you so much. I know this vid is from October 2015 but it immediately improved HOW I look at a bird's wing and now I can without getting overwhelmed. I gave birds a rest after being frustrated and now it seems so easy to draw and paint what I see in front of me instead of getting confused at what I "think" should be there.

Wow, as a new comer to gouache these vids have been invaluable. I have not been able to ascertain but do you do this for your own fulfillment or do you charge a subscription/workshop fee? Not that I would be in the market for, nor live in your area but it is unusually these days to see so much info given for free in a very professions manner. Thank you so much, tis well appreciated.
