I would love to see a video (or attend an event) with information on teaching elementary age children how to keep Nature Journals. I have NO artistic ability, but I've been trying to encourage my children to sit and listen and watch the world around them and make beautiful observations. There's actually a huge movement of homeschooling moms in my area trying to fight the cultural war of television and get our kids outside.
Have you read the book Keeping a Nature Journal by Clare Walker Leslie and Charels E Roth? There's a lot in there directed toward using it in the classroom.
Thank you! Your tree video sparked my tree drawing passion last year :-) I joined the facebook page last fall, and greatly enjoy the work posted there.
want to learn and create Nature Journals, for my own maintenance in staying connected to nature...2. Give me more purpose to go out of the city, other than just walking in nature.. 3. I am forgetting lots about the journey in nature, and with a journal, it will help my memory 4. I want a new place to illustrate, and experiment coloring with water colors, ink etc..5. Have a good document of my nature journey to share with the Grandkids, and there connection to nature. I hope to get out of this video , and my nature journalling....a) a better understanding of documenting nature b) New techniques on art and nature expression c) learn learn learn and not learn alone. d) Therapy work using nature journaling e) Strong interest in documenting Medicinal plants/ animal relationships Bushcrafting.
Is there a valid form of nature journaling that explores just one subject (trees, in my case) or is nature journaling by definition more about observing the biome as a whole?
You really can do whatever you like! Find what moves you and go deeper with journaling. If you like trees, you will love this workshop... ua-cam.com/video/RaEfBS1PmtQ/v-deo.html
