I love Super7 but in my opinion its unacceptable to not even try to paint the head sculpts close to what was shown in the renders. To make matters worse the first wave was painted and now there not going to match properly. Portraits to me are a make or brake.
I sooo agree with you Super 7 IS hit or miss
Just got her in the mail today and I’m happy
🤘🤘
I just checked on BBTS, the 2 LJ heads, that look similar, one is supposed to have a slightly open mouthed smile; while the other doesn’t. If you don’t see her teeth, you’re missing a head and got a duplicate.
After messing around with the figure more, I realized the second head has just BARELY visible teeth. If the heads had been executed correctly they'd be more apparent.
Where’s the paint super 7. This is a big deal paint your head sculpts so they can be all they can be.
Couldn’t agree more. Face sculpt looks like ass… you never know what you are goin to get with super7
We should Ask that question/big Issue directly to Brian Flynn and Michael Gulen (@mgulenproto) the Product manager for Super7 G.I Joe line. I already cancelled my Wave2 and Wave3 Pre orders.
An adult collector figure with unfinished face can't be called ULTIMATES
Bite thy tongue in besmirching Transformers!! 😂😂
I know, I know! 😂😂
“Ok, so that’s disappointing” should be Super7’s trademark slogan 😅
It's often true.
I might pick these up when they go clearance.
Thanks for sharing Pal! Yo Joe!
Yo Joe!
Is it possible to swap heads to 6 inch classified? I love these sculpts comparatively.
It might be possible, but they aren't the same scale. These would be huge on Classified.
@@NeedlessThings I understand the scale is a bit different but on the other hand it's female where a larger head tends to look less problematic And the original super 7 head looks a bit on the small side for a 7-in figure
Her face is so meh. No make up apps. To make her facial features pop. Lady Jaye in the cartoon at least had some light lipstick and eye shadow.
The hair wasn't painted very pro and well for a $55 figure. But at least it has paint cuz the rest of the head looks waxy and different skin tone with neck.. I already email to customer service to ask them a Head Special Pack with replacements. Hoping you could email them with all ur concerns! Flint 3 heads look worst. His skin tone not matches with neck and arms. And like Lady Jaye, Flint forearms aren't painted
I'm already emailing about a replacement Lady Jaye. Funny nobody is talking about the error on mine.
I rather have the skin was all painted, I don't like the waxy look of the skin, Duke looked the best out of all of them so far
Thanks for the review. Kind of a shame that the waist is loose and the legs don't go 90°. I got Flint over the weekend and he's not bad but the QC issues need to happen less.
You mean the shitty glossy waxy unpainted Flint 3 faces? Nothing like the prototype and the opposite of Duke Ultimates who looks perfect (all his heads are painted with highest quality) Flint misses HQ in all his faces which is embarrassing and annoying
@@LordFocker87 oh don't get me wrong. That's a completely understandable complaint. If Super7 can't paint the face, they should've at least used a wash to bring out the details on the faces.
@@ToyCollector82 Brian Flynn said that he is a long Joe fan and collector..now I dunno if he is extremely pleased and happy with this Wave. We are paying outside America 20 bucks extra for each figure.
@@LordFocker87 Idk either. For the price these figures are, they should've been better. They're not worth the full price anyway since some retailers like Entertainment Earth have sales most of the time. I'm happy they made a cartoon accurate Flint, since Hasbro refuses to make him, but I won't be blind or oblivious. Super7 needs to do better and get these QC issues ironed out
@@LordFocker87 yeah totally feel ya! Brian Flynn are having fun celebrating their 22th Anniversary but don't give af about all the weakness and issues of g.i joe Wave 2
These are $50 freaking dollars each. Super7 paint the damn figures. You owe us that at the very least.
Maybe if you coat the ends of the javelin tips with clear fingernail polish ,that'll thicken it ???
I'll see if my replacement had the same issues and give it a shot. I had to do it on my Alley Viper's ankles because they were so loose, so I've got some in the toolbox now!
@@NeedlessThings It sucks that you even have to deal with this. S7 sometimes gives the impression that they are new to making action figures even though they've been in business for way more than 15 years but seem to not get these small details right 🤦🏾♂️
Looks like you go the same head twice! The insertion points need to be thicker but aside from that she is a worthwhile pick up
Upon super close, "not trying to make a video" inspection the second head just barely has teeth showing. It would be more apparent if the heads had been executed correctly.
People are telling me to cancel my pre-orders for wave 2. What would you say?
I'd say watch the reviews this week and see what you think. Nobody is really going to know how they feel about these until they see them in person. We all have different opinions and expectations.
@@NeedlessThings well said! You are the 2nd UA-camr who did an honest kind of positive review. I am gonna wait for Toy Bro review
Dang, that’s a lot of kibble! Good luck keeping track of all those small, extra pieces. I prefer my action figures being able to hold their full load out, but for the price point, I understand Super7 giving the customer options. I’m not diving into the Ultimates well, but LJ looks good, the packaging looks great and you gave a great review!
Thank you!
Great review the figures do look nice 👍
A really great, honest review. This one is a bit of a let down i think. The problems seem like they should have been obvious in QC terms and maybe smack of trying to spread across too many lines too quickly? I dunno. Plenty to like but enough not to like for me to hold off until it hopefully hits a price reduction.
Love the cartoon aesthetics! Definitely my preferred aesthetic of Joes. I bought Duke and Cobra Commander. That’s where I’ll stop. Not a fan of the extremely limited articulation. Classified is vastly superior in terms of playability.
I'd agree if the price wasn't so high
Great review. That head paint still seems a little too light
U mean the hair paint. The only part of every head that was painted 😂😂😂
I love this toyline. Although Lady Jaye is the least impressive imo but still a good figure. The difference of the 2 heads: the loose one looks to have darker hear as the head that is on the figurr (at least on camera). Great review bro😊
How she can be a good figure with all her 3 unfinished faces...no one got accurate painting just like the prototype
Thank you!
I can see how fans of the Sunbow cartoon would love these, I was always much more interested in the comic and plan to stick with Classified. I do love all of the accessories that come with these Ultimates, but I would not call these “highly articulated.”
I appreciate being positive with the review, it’s definitely a down grade from Wave 1, maybe because the sales were weak? Not sure but I’ll still be getting them.
Does anyone know if Super7 replaces parts for figures bought 3rd party, or only if you buy directly from them? My Cobra Commander face is scratched to shit and I'd rather contact them for a new head than return the whole thing to Entertainment Earth.
I believe they'll have you contact the retailer, but it wouldn't hurt to send them an email.
@@NeedlessThings awesome, thanks for the info!
S7.....DAMN🤦🏾♂️
Is Super7 gonna fix these sets with a V2?
It would be nice if they did.
somehow -flint and lady jaye faces arent as good as the proto and duke's..... i hope super7 doesnt rush the other waves coz its kinda like they are slipping - again - much like with the Silverhawks -
Mine has loose torso and hip joints. Very loose. Disappointing
Think the difference in the head is hair color
The one head has teeth just barely visible. If it had been fully painted the difference would be more apparent.
@@NeedlessThings ah gotcha
Nope, this review solidifies my choice to stay away and focus on Classified. These figures are overall inferior to Classified which is damning as they are more than double the price. Plus, it doesn't seem right to have G.I. Joe figures from a third party manufacturer when Hasbro makes perfectly fine versions themselves.
Thanks for watching!
That figure looks phenomenal! Man, I may need to jump in on the S7 line...
They have potential but lack the paint of wave one. Super 7 is getting lazy and careless with what they put out. The qc issues in this video are unelectable. They need to fix this and start doing better.
Excuse me? Phenomenal u said? Wtf! Do you see all the different faces with lack of painting? aka "unfinished figure" for $55! Even reAction figures accuracy are far superior than Lady Jaye Baroness and Flint
@@ConstantineCydonea well said buddy 👏🏼👏🏼
@ConstantineOphiucusss so your issue is pricing, got it. Enjoy those practically unposeable and laughablly priced ReAction figures too. One last thing, you don't like it, don't buy and move on... it works wonders. 😉
I completely understand the nostalgic draw these figures pull. I adored the cartoon and collected the o-ring line back in the mid to late 80s, but these figures from Super 7 have issues. First and foremost is articulation. For over $50 they can afford to design these figures to have more articulation. It angers me that the male figures have more articulation than the female. GIJOE Classified started that way too. I get that they come with a lot of accessories, but they're moot because one is limited on how they can be posed. The mere fact that she can't get into a sitting position suggests there will be no vehicles made for this line. All in all, they're really slightly articulated statues. For some people that's enough.
Personally I don't want more articulation in Super 7 Ultimates. This line isn't about double jointed knees and elbows. It's about profiles. I've got plenty of figures with awkward, distended joints that can almost sort of squat. That's not what Super 7 does.
Wanting more articulation out of Ultimates is like wanting your car to make toast. It's just not what it does.
