Wow, I LOVE this one. This not only honors the original car really well, but it showcases how much you are growing as a designer the more of these you do.
Holy moly does that look good, not only did you incorporate the modern Volvo design with the headlights, grille and bumper, but you made sure to also leave in that boxy design, and to bring up to date a bit, you gave it some body lines that are just... BELISSIMO!
Hi I like most of your redesigns but this one really takes the cake. You truly managed to retain the legendary lines and spirit of the Volvo 200 series while adding both sportiness and luxury. If Volvo would ever consider re-launching such a 200 series, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Same goes with friends who have watched your Volvo 240 redesign. Great work and huge thumbs up !!!
Both front and back redesigns relfect your deep connection and dedication towards it. Great work as always and btw your intros are getting more and more interesting also lovely use of music in recent outros
I'm lost for words... in awe and perhaps almost brought to tears. I would love to see this design on the roads (both front and rear that you did). I dunno how you did it, but you definitely did it!
I've been following this channel quite a while now. You've come to a new level with this Volvo 240 modernization video. You really blend the feel of the original with Volvo's current design language. Great job. Now do the same with Merc 230e W124 lolz
jag ha jobbat med P.S några år nu men efter jag ha började kolla på dina filmer för ca 1 vecka sedan så ha mina renderingar gått från mediokra till riktigt realistiska. Super bra kanal och keep going!
What I especially love is that it reminds me so much of an 850. Combining the old and new styling cues of the brand creates a design reminiscent of one from right inbetween the two eras. Also a great way to show how the Volvo design language evolves progressively. Lovely design.
This man needs to be hired seasonally by all car companies. I mean he hits it out of the park with every design he comes up with. Sketch Monkey knows how to evolve old cars while still maintaining the original design.
Even tho I wasn’t around in that time, I still somehow feel some nostalgia from it, as if your redesign radiates nostalgia. I’m always impressed with your work btw and you will never cease to amaze me with your redesigns
Whenever I watch these videos I’m hating the design and hating because nothing fits right and then at the last moment your skill and attention to detail pull these together in such an amazing and interesting way that always makes me love these designs
If I could get any car, this is exactly what I would choose. Just so amazing work. I love 240 Volvos and the newest ones also and this is just perfect combination of those.
That was neat! Having owned several Volvos (in order from my first in 1986; 1970 145S, 1979 245, 1984 245 DL, 1989 244DL and now a 1970 142S) this was enjoyable to watch.
Sir, you have been know to hit home runs with your designs, I think it is fair to say, you knocked it out of the freakin’ park! I’m no Volvo fan, but I would buy this car if they built it! Love your work!!
One of your best yet. Looks incredible. Car companies take note! Muscle cars aren't the only class of vehicles deserving of retro updates. I'd drive the heck out of this!
You really capture the essence of the 240-series and carry that legacy with grand! I get a feeling of the 264 and the 850. Would be really cool to see that one on the road! Ta det lugnt i sommar och ha en trevlig midsommar!
When I had my first 242, I was a new father, and we just felt so safe in that car. It was like a tank. I still remember the gearbox feeling so firm in an already 20 yr old car back then. I loved it. The next was a 244 with all the bells and whistles, and I loved it even more. It was so comfortable and beautiful ❤️. So simple to work on, easy and cheap to maintain, and parts were everywhere. What killed 240 for me, was the fuel consumption. They were thirsty, and carried a high environmental tax for that reason. My last Volvo was a V40 1.st generation, and I loved that too. Bought it cheap, and ran it into the ground over 5 years later. Cost next to nothing to maintain. Then I wanted something newer and bought a VW Passat. Worst purchase EVER! I'll be back to Volvo soon!
I would buy this thing myself 100% Great job man! You can see the passion you have for Volvo design! Maby a redesign of the c70 convertible up next? :D
I can't believe Volvo have not gotten in touch with you because of what you've done with their cars absolutely amazing. I would still like to see you do the 960 1995 or 96.
This is amazing and I hope that guy builds one! I’ve posted this and your other videos on my group ‘I Spotted A Volvo’ (nearly 5k members) on Facebook! Such an amazing project and a real challenge when you are working with a design classic. Well done dude, seriously impressed!!
Your artistic eye is perfect! To have the ability to compose your thoughts and ideas to visual representation is a treat to see! Did you start off recreating cars and trucks early on in your art? If not then we would all like to know what it was that set the spark in your minds eye. Keep it up ,your renderings touch more than you believe they do!!! INSPIRATIONAL
Idk if you are swedish or not so i just write in english,, im hella impressed of how good you are and i really want Volvo to start making the new 240 bc thats the finest new Volvo ive seen and i think that everyone would buy it all over the world😍
Lovely! Would like to see a rework of some 00's cars that didn't get much love afterwards... Alfa 147 and 156, Ford Mondeo, Hyundai Tiburon, Mitsubishi Galant, the sporty coupes/saloons/hatchbacks that weren't that shiny!
Wow! My first car was a 240 turbo. Seeing you transform it to 2020 edition (rear and front) is simple amazing. One can only hope that some hotshot at Volvo is watching this and get their ass of the couch and start producing it.
I'd love to see this 3D'd on a turntable, Currently I'm not sure if the transition front to rear is a success. Rear looked great and I was pleased to see the front done as well. That also looks great but I just have that nagging feeling about how well they go together. You're an absolute wizard with PS by the way and these are the only 2 videos I've watched so far!
i think this front would look better in a gorgeous 850 T5 redesign, still it has a strong volvo dna, but you could make a wagon with different style like the big grille and single headlight. I got to know about you by this sketch, its honestly the best I've seen of this car which have many fans, keep the good work
Please do Volvo P1800 as if it was a modern volvo sports car with the modern design language, but still keeping the core lines like the "wings" and "bandyklubban" on the side of the doors. Would be really cool to see one as my dad own a white 1966 P1800.
Hi .I have a Volvo 240 wagon and is far the best car I've owned. Loved your CG desing and it looks super aggressive. Take care and best of luck Greetings from Chicago.Dz
Dude thats some real talent right there, i was thinking about modernizing Dodge Challenger RT from 1970s. I was trying to keep the original shape as much as possible but i couldnt do it, so i was thinking about that you could try it. And yeah... there is a new challenger STR and stuff but im not really the fan of the shape, i like the old one better. Great video, you gained one more sub.
There were a few moments where modern design details in the front seemed to be considered but you certainly did the right thing by deleting them and sticking with a simpler form. It looks timeless and premium but with huge heritage.
I really love the design, it looks awesome! I remember being driven around to bandy and other practices in a 240 by my older brother. It reminds of a different and simpler time, before you had any cares in the world. I have three points though if I can be picky. 1. You should have kept the original style on the grill with the "dual lines" and just added the modern logo. 2. The air intakes or what ever they are supposed to be under the lightes could have been squared to fit the headlight since they are roughly the same shape as the headlights on the modern volvos. 3. You should have kept that classic flat blue colour that the orginal picture had. It is an iconic one and this silvery grey though elegant becomes abit boring. Just my little amateur opinions, keep up the great work!
1st crazy mad props pulling this beautiful epicness off and 2nd Sweet mother of the car gods if this was a thing I would sign myself up for 1 before it's even for sale, I can only hope right along with you that this becomes a reality.
whew... you found the issue in the final render image that was bothering me the whole video. You forgot the chamfer above the driver side front air intake :). Awesome job on this overall. I love the boxy design updated with modern touches.
Looks like a rolls royce. I'd love to see this as a production car.
Looks more like a Toyota Century tbh.
I’d say a Bentley
@@tomaspiscicelli3288 yea definitely a mix of both it has the boxy angles of a RR and sporty elements of a Bentley

I agree with you, he put more attention to detail than usual with this redesign.
I would get a Volvo if they made this one like this! Stunning!
Just imagine how good the station wagon version could be!
I would pay big money to have Volvo make a car like that.

I’m going to nitpick, the aero intakes below the headlights should be squared off too.

That would be cool or the 2000 Audi tt
Yes yes yes this is a forgotten car that would be great to redesign
Me to
He should do a corrado vr6 variant
Can we get a wagon Versions 👀
oh hell yeah do it @TheSketchMonkey
yeah you can't do it like that can you? xD
I hope that some day Volvo will make that car. It's gorgeous!
Now this is absolutely stunning, you have outdone yourself once again!
Could you try to redesign the lotus Elise/Exige into a front engine car. I think it would be a real challenge.
