We've had the 5.8" and 6.2" screen size "leak" and that's disappeared. Now it's back to 5.1" and 5.5" according to Bloomberg. Don't waste your time on this inane clickbait crap. We'll know all when the phone is released. Expect to hear, 4k screen....again... 4500mah battery, removable battery, non removable battery, nuclear fusion powered battery, capacitve buttons.....again, curved screen, wrap around with screen on the back, maybe a flat screen version with sparkles, 128gb storage, maybe 256gb or 512gb, then back to 64gb, adoptable storage, no adoptable storage, 4gb of ram, 6GB of ram, an 8GB version but only in China to piss everyone else off, back to 4GB again, water resistance up to 1 kilometer of water for 50 years, no bezels, same bezels as S7, smaller bezels but still bezels, iris scanner, a**hole scanner, infra red rear camera, 16mp, 21mp rear camera with bells attached, 8mp front , 16mp front , dual camera, triple camera, 3d camera, 8k video recording, Gorilla Glass display, sapphire display, stereo sound, quad sound, micro SD slot, no Micro SD slot, no headphone jack, headphone jack, 2x USB-C, one as a headphone jack, no USB-C, totally wireless everything. I've think I've covered everything there so we can stop reading this rubbish for a while. 😄

How is it annoying? unlike with Apple, Samsung has fast charging so you don't have to wait too long to be able to listen to music again, if that's what's bothering you.

i think the pixel would be the perfect phone, but im waiting for the next one. No IPXX, front facing speakers and a useless bottom chin. I think it will need one more generation to perfect itself. Please also still have a headphone jack next gen.

if you are going to remove the headphone jack then put dual usb type-c and include a usb type-c to 3.5mm adapter.
Some people still cry and complain about removing the headphone jack. Cmon it's such an old technology on a very high tech phone. It's time to once and for all get rid of all headphone jacks!
The issue I have with the curve display is that I'm always messing what I'm doing up because my fingers hit things by mistake and I open other apps and other things. I hope you know what I'm talking about. Can't they make the curve part where your unable to effect the main screen???

S8 may be the phone to convert me to Samsung user (from LG). I just love the bezel-less screen. I don't really care much about the 3.5 headphones jack - it was about past time for this to go away. It was never meant to be used in small devices in the first place. I would like two USB type-C ports (top and bottom) , but... I guess we would not have them. I have my doubts about the fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen - will see.

The S8 is gonna be an awesome phone. The S7 is already an amazing phone, and the new features will just make it even better. No home button is going to feel weird at first, but like many phones now without it, its no biggie. The optic/eye unlock feature will lessen these issues. And about your comment on screen smudges, that's a problem with ANY phone.
The only thing Samsung needs to worry about is thoroughly testing the battery and make sure it does not explode.

In the future mobile-phones will consist of a receiver and the speaker separate from the main body which is a multipurpose tablet or some sort of tactile display unit; that too might become something else in the future unknown to us yet.
Separate and independent parts allows companies relating to mobile-phone market to gain new avenues in the industry but gain the frustration of their consumers.
Exysos is not just for "some asian markets", it's for pretty much every market other than the US and China, because they still use CDMA networks. Exynos is for most of Asia, Europe, Africa, central and south America and Australia.
The headphone jack is old tech and there is a great wireless future but still there is still so much gadgets depending on that tech.So it is too soon to remove the 3.5 jack forever.
I hate these kind of early guesses. They are often wrong. They aren't removing the headphone jack or the home button.
5.1" and 5.5"?? Literally every single tech news channel has rumoured a 5.7" and 6.2" model. With the same device footprint as the S7 lineup, but because of the 'bezel-less' display, it will just have a bigger screen size. Which is good imo.

There's a reason why companies are so eager to get rid of the headphone jack. It looks small, but it actually takes a lot of space inside the device, a much needed room for sensors, antennas, a bigger battery, various components and all those juicy transistors.
Smartphones pack so much technology these days that every single cubic millimeter is fought for.
Also, the headphone jack is analogue, which means some data is lost in the conversion from digital to analogue, but really only hardcore audiophiles will notice the difference, and only when using FLAC 24bit does any difference at all is noticeable.
I think companies should not abandon the headphone jack. It is an essential connector, used universally since the 1960s. Carrying around an adapter just so you could plug in your good ole' headphones is such an annoying inconvenience.
I heard Snapdragon 835 will feature Bluetooth 5 which will enhance sound over Bluetooth signals.
Definitely excited for the GS8 and what design Samsung has up their sleeve.

The screen isn't gonna be 4k. Instead they will keep it at 2k and arrange the diamond pixels into RGB. Ultimately, creating a sharper screen.

I really hope they don't ditch the headphone jack. I have a bunch of high end headphones and I don't wanna use a dongle to use them on a phone. Also I don't like the idea of just using Bluetooth for headphones. It just isn't the same when it comes to latency and quality.

Samsung does not need to knock it out the park. The S7 was a top device. The Note was the problem. Even that phone was great despite the fires. They have been the top innovators and the also listen to their consumers.

They're definitely not eliminating the headphone jack. It's just the echo chamber effect started by unscrupulous media sources trying to present the iPhone 7 as innovative. Unlike Apple, Samsung have nothing to gain from eliminating the audio jack.
