Soooo much better than his current stuff where he just plays fast scales and repeats the same patterns. I feel like he lost this soul somewhere along the way. This stuff is pure GOLD!!!
Most probably the lineup is the same as on "No Problem" - live at Ronnie Scott's, which was recorded just a couple weeks later. Bass - Jorge Reyes Hernandes Drums - Bernardo Garcia Carreras Guitar - Jorge L.Chicoy Percussion - Reinaldo Valera Del Monte Piano - Hilario Duran Torres Trumpet - Arturo Sandoval
Wat een feest der herkenning, pure nostalgie. North Sea Jazz in Den Haag. 😞
Nice and Creative Videos, This is really my favorite channle.:). I really glad to see your post and your world was so brilliant. 🌴🌴🌴 excellent and Much appreciated!!🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 from: Cuba Village Sandoval
Arturo Sandoval is unreal. I want to try and make my Harmonica sound like the first song in this video. Watch this video. Listen to the first song It will blow your mind how high he can blow. Arturo amazes me every time. Arturo Sandoval Live Montréal 1991 [FULL CONCERT] ua-cam.com/video/8REe5Cp0hNI/v-deo.html
We mortals can only dream of being able to play like Arturo. Some can reach such a range, but only one can play notes in that register and transition that quickly with the tone and poise displayed here.
In 1986, Arturo was beyond the limits of human beings. What great steel lips! No one else can play like that. Only Arturo can do that. After Arturo's death, maybe there will be a tribute concert, then if someone can play similarly like this era, it would be a really meaningful performance. Don't just copy Arturo's playing over 70 age. This era was around that time when the real Arturo spit fire.
Yeah I know what you mean. I saw him Around the mid 90’s at places like Ronnie Scott’s and was just unbelievable . I have seen many other trumpet players live but he was just on a different level imo.
@@bd1845 Right... i really envy you!!!! The first time I saw Arturo was on Blue Note in the mid-2000s. Even though he was already in his mid-50s at the time, he had a healthier sound than most jazz trumpet masters in their twenties. I even heard him play the piano right in front of him, and he had such a crazy playing ability!
I agree his Cuban band were amazing. That record you are talking about is called. Breaking the Sound Barrier. Not all that easy to get hold of now. There is another record called No problem that was recorded at Ronnie Scott’s in the 1980’s with this band too. Great CD that.
Это потрясающе! Восхитительно...вся команда, Артуро в частности...это боги! Это такое, чего Вы просто так не услышите...это...это пиздец) (прошу прощения)
It’s an extended version of Libertao Carnival that he recorded on the Album Just Music on the then Ronnie Scott’s jazz label.. Georgia on my Mind is also on there.
@@kyjiv I think it’s El Tren De Las 10.30 PM from the album Plays For the Pandas. Pandas were a professional Dutch Ice Hockey team.. Ties in with this as North Sea jazz festival is in Rotterdam too. Album was in 1988 on the Cocoral Label.
Muy fácil A través de personas q si le interesaban oírlo aunque su dinero fuera a los bolsillos de la dictadura Pero era la única forma de salir y dar a conocer si trabajo
That’s your opinion. To me the beauty of jazz is everyone is different. The real difference with Arturo is he can express himself on the trumpet in any way he so chooses and there are very few who can do that. Bill Evans piano playing was totally different to Oscar Peterson’s. Stan Getz to Charlie Parker etc etc
The first 12 min is fantastic jazz. Legendary track. Love it. 🎶

Great musicians all the band ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic how fast he play. A true Master of all range but even a great showman.
Este concierto merece un reconocimiento historico mundial..!!

This was filmed before or just after Arturo defected to the USA. Maestro- cual es correcto?
I think and may be wrong that he defected on 1990, I know he was on a tour with Dizzy Gillespie when he did it.
@@C4RTI you are spot on. This was 4 years before he defected.

It's all good, but a lot of it is just technical and not very musical to my ear.
To me it's just show off, no Jazz feeling. Lot of things, no substance !
