I Went Off Script During a WWE Match
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- WWE matches are predetermined, but wrestlers do a lot of improvisation while in the ring. During one of my matches, my opponent improvised and did something that forced me to go off script. I share what he did and what I did to him in this video.
Thanks for watching the video and hearing my story. After hearing my explanation, do you agree with what I did?
loving these videos , thank you for sharing :) .
The clothesline was more devastating than Bradshaw's 😂
Another excellent upload
Yes, definitely.
Yes stuff happens in the mix of time
"I took control of the match," Maven describing his attempted murder via clothesline...
"I wasn't stiff with those fists --"
No. But that clothesline certainly was.
😂
Do not cross Maven. Snitsky found out about that the hard way in that one match...
😂😂😂
@@CellGames2006i guess it was his fault

the "old school" guys would've stiffed Masada after that. Kudos to you for trying to make it a teaching moment rather than stiff him.
And not once. He would’ve had more receipts than a suspicious girlfriend.
Ba-Dum-Tss
I dont know... that clothesline sounded pretty nasty to me!
Try that cover on JBL and he would end up in the ER
@@Unholychaos987 To me it looks like he turned enough that is was more of a takedown than a clothesline.
@@Benson7290 Or Hardcore Holly lol
If anything, its a good thing Masada was facing you and not someone who might have been more willing to go further into potentially unacceptable territory.
Masada is a tough guy. I think he would have been fine.
Imagine him doing this to Jamal (aka Umaga)
Hardcore Holly, JBL, Ron Simmons, or even Eddie Guerrero would've KILLED him for that.

That's an old school response. Hell yeah. You also weren't even down for a one count, and your competitor did a one foot cover, and was completely relaxed when you gave him a clothesline. That exposed the business. You did the right thing, absolutely.

One of the BEST channels I've come across in the past year. Love from 🇨🇦
Knowing some of Masadas work I thought that it was because of him either being too stiff or he took some liberties (thing that has happened A LOT on his matches)...but like you said Maven, something as simple as that it means much, MUCH more in the bigger picture. Awesome video as always, greetings from Uruguay!!
Same here. But it's good to know, even though he's done a lot of deathmatch stuff, Masada at least knows how to not work stiff.
Why dude never had a wwe contract
When did Masada take liberties besides stiffing the crap out of Spydar Boodrow for not knowing how to work?
I even once had a chance encounter with his ex wife. What she told me isn't publicly known, but it gave me a horrible insight into the kind of man he is.
This is a breath of fresh air in contrast to all the bruised ego beat downs and revenge plots we hear about on here. Thank you.
Man, at this point, I want to hear whatever Maven wants to say. If I'm not wrong, this channel has become one of the amazing things after Attitude era. Mr. Maven, I must really acknowledge your amazing narrating ability. God bless you and stay healthy.
Loving the behind the scenes insight you offer. Wrestling was my jam back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Not so much in the last couple decades, but I still really enjoy hearing these tales. 👍🏻

The off script moment got a great pop too. I actually think it worked really well as storytelling- the heel looks like an asshole for trying a cocky pin, but Maven doesn't look weak because it doesn't even get a one count, and he leaps up and takes control.

It's Always Fun When Maven Talks. The Skill Of Story Telling That Maven Had Is Truly Magnificent
I think him being a former teacher, it’s just normal & natural for him. To stand in front of students, trying to explain everything in full detail so they can understand & comprehend, translates the same as in his videos.
Maven wearing a Dreamville T is the collab I never thought I'd see.
Love watching ur videos maven ! Always interesting ! Keep it up.
I used to love wrestling as a kid I'm 30 now , listening to you talk about this sport has made me appreciate the art of it . Great stuff
Honestly I would love to see more videos like this where you analyze and explain what’s going on in your matches. I think it’s very cool seeing the process of how matches are broken down and how you improvise.
You've said it before, everything in wrestling is about Respect. That's the main 'currency' you have and the only thing someone else can increase or diminish as a result of their actions. Whether intentional or not, you were disrespected, lowering your perceived status. Having the wherewithal to push back against that was 100% necessary given those circumstances. You had to show that you weren't going to sit there and take it.
And still someones who beahaved as disrespectful as you can imagine in Japan, while the Internet was watching what he did, got a job as a wrestler in that very company. So I guess respects only goes as far as the boss says "I don't care". Not saying that showing respect should go out of the window. I just say it seems there are double standards going on, at least in WWE, with those respect rules.
It's just petty bullying isn't it.
Okay but the guy was trying to make a name for himself. It’s his one shot. Is he supposed to just be uneventful and non-memorable?
@@benizjammmin He's supposed to not try to make himself look better than someone who actually works for the company he was trying out for. Sure, he needs to look like he can work, but at the end of the day he was there to job for Maven, and you don't do that by pinning someone with your boot.
@@benizjammmin Well, that was his first and last WWE match. Propably would have been better of by showing he that he is trustworthy employee. I used to be all about WWE. It was a big part of my teen years. I graduated high school in 2002. After I graduated I moved out of the house and started doing adult life. Maven, I've never watched WWE in my life but the way you present everything is so entertaining that I watch every video!
I was on the front row at this show in Beaumont, TX, where Masada started his training. Thats me and a couple of buddies in the black and gold hockey jerseys near the corner ring steps. I’m not a wrestler, but I also had a couple of in-ring interactions with Masada… he definitely “took care” of me! Love the channel, Maven!

Loving these behind the scenes takes on the life of a WWE Wrestler. Keep them coming Mave.
Just wanna say I love your channel, I wrestled on the independents in Vegas back in 2002 to 2006 and even though it wasn't WWE level a lot of what you say is very relatable to my experience I started in my teens and had to go above and beyond just to prove myself and get respect and learn to stand up for myself because some of the guys could be mean AF lol my trainers were legends Nick Bockwinkle and Scott Casey they were tough but actually super nice guys and I was so honored to have trainers of that level.
Btw, one of my class mates at the Wrestling School was Kenny King from Tough Enough 2 lol right after the show ended he joined the school and that experience deserves a story time of itself 😂😂
Maven, everyone who grew up during the attitude/ruthless era are so thrilled to see that you are doing well and good. Keep making the youtubes, you are a treasure to professional wrestling :D
I didn't know who you were and I'm not that big fan of WWE.

Nicely done Mr Maven.
Legit watched this yesterday. Then tonight during a match this guy that was brought in from out side of the company I was working at did the foot pin thing during the heat. This video popped in my head. I pushed his foot off before a 1 count. Got up and fought back until I told him to cut me back off.
Thanks Maven for passing on the wisdom.

That is a really good story. As I kid, I swore wrestling was not a scripted sport, because you all do such a great job. Thanks for giving these glimpses into how it all works. I truly enjoy every video you do.

Maven I just learned you’re an emu alumni. Don’t see many of us. Love the channel. Keep it up
Thank you for everything you've done for us - the fans! Thank you for the memories!
Maven grew up in the business still carrying the culture from the 80s and 90s. It was a locker room strictly run by hierarchy. Those who paid their dues and were veterans were at the top. Everyone else was below. Knowing your place and showing respect for your elders was everything.
And even though Maven skipped the line to a degree by winning Tough Enough he also quickly understood the culture and paid his respects and knew his place in the pecking order.
So his response here while it might seem overkill to some, it actually makes sense given the culture. In fact he probably felt he needed to do it or else he would be considered a chump that can be walked all over by a rookie.
And another thing I forgot how AMAZING your entrance music was WOW!
Pretty cool behind the scenes explanation, and nice to get a play by play of 1 of your matches. Keep up the good work.

I'll be the first one to admit. I joined up the Pro-Wrestling fandom when a friend of mine got me into it around 2009 or thereabouts. Wrestlemania 25 was one of the first PPVs I ever caught and since then I've been on and off watching. So for me it's surreal to dive back into the years of wrestling and the characters that I missed and the history that I only ever hear about in videos like this, or when trying to catch old events on streaming. This channel really shines a light into a period of wrestling where the guys I was familiar with were still honing their craft and building themselves up.
I am sorry to say that I completely missed Maven's run by a couple by a couple years. What I am glad to say is that I am glad to meet you now and hear about your adventures.

I think Masada is a case in which an outsider tries to impress but just hasn't figured out how things work here. If he was gonna lose to Mave anyways, might as well make himself look better in the process. But he just didn't understand the game rules of WWE.
