Brilliant series of uploads bud. Super enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it
Very nice video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very good video
Craig - I was there when the Lavender Hill shots were being filmed - at the corner of Longbeach Road!
The shop that is now a wine bar was a garden furniture shop run by the Newell family at that time.
Here is a gem of a story, and true.
A new pie and mash shop had opened up in the middle of the next block up.
One of the shop workers, we all felt, had an uncanny resemblance to a character we all loved.
The behind the camera boys got word and agreed.
In between takes they got her from the shop to where this scene was being filmed.
'Olive! You're wanted on set!', was the shout that was heard, much to all our great amusement 😁
Love it. Great story. Hope to revisit the area in the future for more photos and videos.
@@OntheBusesDatabase1 - forgot to add that Longbeach Road was where I was born. Look forward to those photos 👍
Marvellous work Craig, thank you. Such great attention to detail.👍
I am AMAZED that Reigate Avenue at Rosehill, Sutton, was used as I was at school near there at that time and used to go on my Red Rover tickets bought at Sutton Garage (as was necessary in my district as there was no tube station nearer than Morden). Excellent research!
Thanks Craig!
FASCINATING.
Glad you enjoyed the video Andy.
@@OntheBusesDatabase1 I really did, I have the box set, and always make a point of watching them if i feel a bit down, much better than pills.
Great work again Craig.
Very interesting.
Take care, Jeff
How awful it is to say as you did, that was Woolworths. I’d give 10 Amazon’ accounts, not that I’m a member, to have 1 Woolworths! But, as they say, times change. Superb work again to you on your location spotting!!
Hi Craig great job mate can't wait for more thanks.
Sad that the football ground is now a carpark. Probably my favourite episode from this season
Apparently, it was originally owned by Sainsbury's football team and they'd go on to build a superstore on the land.
@@OntheBusesDatabase1 Interesting. What are your thoughts on the final season? Especially the last half when Stan left?
Obviously, the quality was not going to be the same as what went before but it still beats any sitcom masquerading as comedy today. What must be remembered is contracts had been signed by the cast for series seven and they had to be honoured.
I still like the films better but I am really enjoying the series now I've decided to watch them Craig...It must be good because I never laugh out loud to a TV show.
Each to their own but nothing beats the tv series
Can anyone tell me where they got the Luxton name from
Thank you.
Just a pure invention by the writers. They were both Londoners so it is not, as some have suggested, a hint at Luton.
Did you see any drive by shooting while you were doing your research in South london..?
No I didn't.
Was it popular in Scotland ?
Yes it was popular across the UK and far beyond.
I wonder if Bob Grant smoked as much in real life as his character did..he seems to be smoking in nearly every shot. I believe he was quite a troubled soul in real life.. RIP
He most probably did. Bob's trouble hit him from 1987 off and on after that.
