    Hello from AK. Great video Jay. I went back and forth for awhile between HAAS snd SYIL. Finally settled on a HAAS…but I’m with you I believe the SYIL is a great machine for the money and would serve someone well. My final decision was based on support plus the few guys I know up here are HAAS guys. Another reason was a pretty heavily optioned TM-0p was not much more out the door than the SYIL. I will state I have ZERO cnc experience, I’m learning as I go. Thanks again.

    You can set the manual white balance on you 80D so that it is fixed. You currently use the auto balance mode, which would not change anything when you buy a new camera. It would be the same when you use it in auto mode.

    Thanks for the video. Ive been looking at both the X7 and tormach. Leaning heavily toward the X7 at this point. Seems like its in a class above Tormach for a relatively similar price point.

    The gap between the face of the spindle and the flange in the tool holder is 3mm. The nominal distance from the face of the spindle to the
    gage line is 1.5mm The tolerance on this dimension is not very tight since the main goal is ensuring there is a sufficient gap between the
    spindle face and the flange of the tool.

    Interesting addressing accuracy and precision. Repeatability is often in the specifications most CNC machines suggest plus or minus 0.0002 inch with a positional accuracy of plus or minus .0.0002 combined taken at extremes radial error would be taking the full error (Square root of (.0004^2 + .0004^)) that's the best you could hope for. My experience I have found most CNC machine have sweet spots where everything aligns least amount of variation exist. I would favor hard mill work to a side and position on the machine not the sweet spot to savor and save the sweet spot for when the work called for it. A consideration. Good points here nice video. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Jay My X7 is on a container ship somewhere - left 5 days ago for Australia. You mentioned that there has been some Syntec controller firmware upgrades. How quickly does Syil China make these upgrades available for existing X7s owners with the Syntec 22MA controller?

    Great video. I’d like to sell my tormach 1100mx and get a x7. How do you like the whole syil experience so far?

    • @NerdlyCNC
      @NerdlyCNC  10 місяців тому

      I've had good luck with my X7 only a few issues. I'd say that 1100mx is a bit more user friendly for one-offs and prototyping but no question the X7 is very fast , accurate and rigid.
      they are both similar in that you will most likely service the machine your self if someting goes wrong.
      Wesley , George , Jeff and Doug are amazing and always go out of their way to take care of their customers.

    X7 has always been my way to go CNC for a small scale business. Everyone that knowns a bit about CNC cannot dislike this machine. In its price range there is no competition with other new machines out there. IF you try to build the same machine DIY you will end spending the same amount of money than buying it. The only one that comes with better price (but not epoxy granite structure) are the VMC 420, 422 and 425 from another Chinese brand. They are around 11-14K all included. Really nice too

      @@____________________ok(post keeps getting deleted which is sad) Not sure if it's UA-cam policy but do not think so unfortunately 😰. Anyhow those machines are sold on Aliexpress under VMC 420, 422 or 425. Easy to find them and with the same name you can find a guy on UA-cam that has got one recently. Otherwise look at allcncrouter
      They are no joke too. Hiwin rails, ATC, AC servos on all axis and spindle, multiple controllers available like Syil ecc...

      @@____________________ok Yes, I have corrected my first post now. Anyhow same story here. I have been converting a BF20L for the past years and got pretty close to that total cost. I am thinking of selling it and import one of the VMC422 or 425 model. The price value is unbeatable and components used are good. I use the same Ac servo for the spindle and know well Hiwin rails and the AC servos they use for axis. I can tell it's a really good deal. Plus shipping is like 900$
