Subscribe to the Patreon, I'm wrapping up a video on Smash 4's Custom Moves right now. It's a banger, and it will be up there, as soon as its finished.
I played them in Ultimate, I was a Charizard player in 4. I really enjoy playing these guys and I love it. At least Squirtle kept shellshifting in PM where he ended up losing it in Ultimate.
the pm team did ivy sooooo well. I really love the whole bulb charge/ solar beam mechanic -especially, that you are able to charge your solar beam with certain attacks. Such a cool idea.
I loved the video! I'm an Ivysaur main from Mexico and if I were to add 1 detail to the video is in up air that also has a hitbox going down and you can use it to edgeguard. We call it here "La panzita" "The little belly". - Yoru
without fatigue holding him back, Squirtle would actually be a pretty good character alone. Good frame data, mobility, combo game, and even had a kill throw in down throw. Zard and especially Ivy not so much lmao
That Absorb/Synthesis/Solarbeam combination integration makes me want to see a redesigned Ness that integrates his focus on _healing_ PSI powers more instead of it just being that he uses LifeUp simultaneously with PSI Magnet when hit with projectiles.
Ivysaur is my FAVORITE character in Project M, one of my favorites in the entirety of smash. I have many fond memories of playing PM back in HS with my Ivysaur :)
Ivy and Mewtwo were the first characters I picked up the basic tech for PM/Melee. I absolutely love Ivy, I just wish Nintendo weren't asses about modded games, I prefer PM/+ simply for Ivy.
An issue I'm glad you mentioned with Ivysaur is that Grass type attacks are almost nonexistent to be Squirtle's weakness aside from Ivysaur itself, Water type attacks are also rare to threaten Charizard (Mario's FLUDD and maybe Ice Climbers' attacks?), while Fire attacks are on _all sorts of other characters_ .
I wanna play Project M purely for Ivysaur. My favorite Kanto starter finally got tools more fitting of its grass typing. Seed Bomb is an amazing combo tool that's easy to set up and converge into other powerful attacks, and Synthesis/SolarBeam is a FANTASTIC kill move that feels unique. Best PM character changes ever!!
Character in SSBB with Fire attacks (excluding Final Smashes): Mario, Luigi, Samus, Zero Suit Samus (sweetspot side-B) Link, Toon Link, Kirby, Fox, Falco, C.Falcon, Ganondorf (UTilt), Bowser, Peach (Bob-Omb pull), G&W, Zelda, Ness, Lucas, Rob, DeDeDe, Olimar, Snake, Diddy Kong, Ike, Pokemon Trainer (Charizard), Olimar (R Pikmin), Kirby (Copying Charizard) (And I'm pretty sure but not certain)- Shiek (Vanish), Meta Knight&Kirby (UThrow) Characters in SSBB with Water attacks: Mario (knockback only), Pokemon Trainer (Squirtle), Kirby (Copying Squirtle) Characters in SSBB with Grass attacks: Pokemon Trainer (Ivysaur), Kirby (Copying Ivysaur) Who thought the elemental weaknesses was a good idea? It basically only affects Ivysaur, and is a non-issue for all other 'mons except mirror-matches. Items, stage hazards, bosses, and SSE enemies are all flame-stacked, too.
Yeah he completely missed the point of bullet seed. It’s a frame 1 invincible reversal that does up to 48% on hit and can be used out of hitstun at early percents to directly punish people for hitting her
I hate to talk about pokemon pronouns, but all pokemon, unless designated, are referred to as "it", not "them." Jigg is referred to as a her since the majority of Jigs are female.
tbh seeing how no one uses charizard in ultimate i'd say stamina was a good though mechanic realized like ass they should have done that but with some reworking
aight bruh im gonna nitpick cuz this was a dope vid on a dope topic, well edited and written, liked subbed and interested in supporting u on patreon. but fam I just want to say the gameplay u keep showing of is taking away from how good this video is lmao. this is only for the sake of constructive criticism that you have no obligation to listen to, but what the actual fuck am I looking at lol
The changes done to them predated Ultimate by a lot of years and the devs made it clear that they want to be very conservative in the changes they make to Project M outside of balancing.
PSA: I do not care what your beliefs or leanings are. STOP referring to (singular) Pokemon as "they" when historically and canonically Pokemon were/are referred to as "it." If you care that much to modulate pronouns, then do it right(or perhaps you just lazily slap "they" on everything now which is kinda ironic). There is only 1 Ivysaur in Smash. Pokemon are not people, they are fictional creatures. See, I just used it properly. Ivysaur is an "it."
I disagree, the only Pokemon that are considered "its" are legendary Pokemon (Mewtwo, Mew, Arceus,) otherwise most of them can be either Male or Female. Ivysaur can be Male and Female in the Pokemon Games.
Responding again, because I think my comment got deleted for posting a spaced-out link. Firstly, you can't disagree with the history, nor Nintendo. Go boot up Smash, go to the Tips section, and check Greninja, Incineroar, and Pokemon Trainer. The pronoun "it" is used *exclusively*, not "they/themselves." Not merely Legendaries. Proof is at your fingertips. This pronoun usage didn't begin with Smash Ultimate either, nor did Sakurai invent it. Historically, a singular Pokemon of indescript gender is always referred to as an "it", and most older gamers know this. We've played the games. Ivysaur is a singular Pokemon of indescript gender, thus canonically the proper pronoun usage is to refer to it as an "it." The person in this video is effectively canonically "misgendering" Ivysaur. Also, PM devs opinions do not matter. It is the same model of Brawl Ivysaur, an "it." If they want to make their own universe or lore in PM, that's fine but don't pretend it is authoritarive on Nintendo IP. And if Ivysaur is arbitrarily called a "she" by devs, then the person in this video is still "misgendering". Feel free to google "Ivysaur pokedex entry" and read it. The pronouns are exclusively "it." I shouldn't need to expound any more.
@@TONyjustRoCks Idk what you are talking about Ivysaur as a fictional species similar to some of are own has the biological gender of male and female as it can reproduce it its same egg group the PM dev team thought it would be a fun Idea to make the character female IDK why and I really don't care as it is FICTION and it has been depicted as being male or female in multiple other media (eg pokemon anime, manga, and other spin-offs) it is not the case where Ivysaur is specificly a character with non-binary pronouns (eg Testament from Guilty Gear) or is a race that does not have a gender (eg the Chimera Ants from Hunter X Hunter) it is a gender race and the people that while not the creator's of the character created a specific version that is female like the Pokemon Comany, Gamefreak, and Nintendo do sorry for my shitty grammar hope you understand what I am saying and have a good day
Cara, eu queria tanto jogar o project +, mais toda vez da erro na hora de encontrar o arquivo, sendo complicado demais. Vc teria um donwload queria o mod com a ISO do Brasil pra eu jogar? Eu realmente quero jogar parece legal

Honest content being honest what a classic

They made they better, but removed the thing that made them unique. That's why I like how Ultimate handled them.

I love obscure fighting game videos from games I have never and will never play keep up the good work
Funnily enough I use to destroy my friends with Ivysaur in Brawl back in the day. I guess kids in my hometown were just terrible at smash

toon link's milk taunt also heals it in p:m. Did that predate Ivy's rework?
Love your content man, might be my favorite Smash content creator out right now ❤
Yo thank you, means a lot!
In another Universe we have Ash's Bulbasaur, Mewtwos Venusaur & Ash's Charmeleon as our Brawl reps.
Make a video about Squirtle on P+
Brawl Pokemon Trainer is like if a moveset made by BrawlFan1 actually got into a game
Fr, BrawlFan1 concepts are questionable design wise
I'd love to see you talk about Yoshi
Hi honest, is there a place where I can dm you ? (other than patreon)

Ha very funny

WTF?! I didn’t know about the stamina mechanic!
I enjoyed ivysaur in brawl, I fell in love with it in PM
Didn't Mew2King once say on his Brawl tier list that Brawl Ivysaur's BEST move was neutral b??? Or am I miss remembering?
Yeah he completely missed the point of bullet seed. It’s a frame 1 invincible reversal that does up to 48% on hit and can be used out of hitstun at early percents to directly punish people for hitting her
Wasn't the extra "damage" actually knockback?
Yes, you took 10% less knockback if you resisted the element and 10% more knockback if you were weak to the element.
I hate to talk about pokemon pronouns, but all pokemon, unless designated, are referred to as "it", not "them." Jigg is referred to as a her since the majority of Jigs are female.
Technically them can work in Exeggcute if you count as a group and the I think it's name is tandemouse is multiple mice so them as well.
Then wouldn't ivysaur be "he" because the majority of ivysaurs are male?
tbh seeing how no one uses charizard in ultimate
i'd say stamina was a good though mechanic realized like ass
they should have done that but with some reworking
Talking about my main lets go
Hope he makes a Charizard or Lucario version at some point

fair points but what gameplay do you mean specifically. I respect the point tho.
hero down B is a heal
I’d say Ivy is the worst character in Brawl and the entire smash series.
MewtwoKing agrees
God i hate brawl
But he's soooooo good in Ultimate tho.
Worst than Ganondorf?
64 link Melee bowser brawl ivisaur smash 4 jigglypuff ultimate little mac
he does like zero damage in brawl
love your stuff man
They should've kept them together and do what they did in ultimate
The changes done to them predated Ultimate by a lot of years and the devs made it clear that they want to be very conservative in the changes they make to Project M outside of balancing.
Nah, that would be an unnecessary nerf to each character
The trainer doesn't need to be there though.
Yesss I love Ivy, great video
love the vid man
Finally my main.
I love these videos
I think Brawl ivysaur is a girl 😳. I dunno about PM.
He is super super weak
