Fun fact: Clubber's remarks towards Adrian was unscripted but Stallone left it in because it gave the character a more despicable taste. And during the premier, Mr. T brought his mom to watch it, so when that scene came on, she angrily turned to him and shouted "I didn't raise you to talk to a woman like that!" He tried to calmly explain to her that it's a movie and he's only playing a character but she stormed out of the theatre.
But you just said he ad libbed it so she was right. He obviously had it in him. But I don’t believe that story anyway. I can’t find any proof that she ‘stormed out’ lol and tgat would’ve been a big news story of the day. Nice story tho.

Rocky’s titles defenses were against some top contenders and some discretionary opponents who he would beat easily with his fighting style . Thats how he was matched up . They were all good fighters. His 2nd defense was against Joe Czack who was mentioned in the first Rocky as a possible opponent for Apollo who was mentioned as a top prospect and Rocky KO the German champion . They just were not like Clubber Lang who posed a greater threat to him . Apollo made Rocky into a complete fighter

Quite honestly one of my very very very favorite Rocky movies is the very last one called "Rocky Balboa". I think it puts the perfect bow on the entire Rocky series. So.... since you've already started Rocky and you're halfway through, take a little break... but please don't stop until you get to the end. ❤
Rockys "block and absorb" tactic was what Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) used against big George Foreman in the fight called "rumble in the jungle" which clay (ali) called the "rope n dope". If you want to watch real life boxing fights look up these fights. First one is what the rocky franchise is based on and that is Cassius clay vs joe Frazier fight 3 (the thriller of Manilla). One of the most brutal fights youll ever see. It was a special fight though what clay did to joe forever altered him mentally. Joe Frazier should have won that fight. Then we go probably the greatest rocky like fight ever and this fight was between a man named Diego corrales and Jose Luis Castillo fight 1. From the very second of the first round til the end was non stop action and round 10 has to be if not be the greatest round ever. Youll be shell shocked by the result at the end. Now we go to "round of the century" (before corrales and Castillo) which was fought between aturo gatti vs Irish micky ward fight 1. Round 9 of that fight is something only described as unbelievable as both men let loose and the back and forth they did is something only a few fighters ever did in history. An now we go to a sleeper fight but its a rocky scene through and through and that fight was Riddick bowe vs evander holyfield fight 1 round 10. What holyfield did in that fight to survive the onslaught was something most cant wrap their head around. Holyfield was hit with an uppercut from hell and he was all but knocked out but in holyfield fashion he hangs on just enough against a bigger stronger man. Then in the same round out on his feet he roars back and hurts bowe badly and had he had more time in the round he could have knocked out bowe. At the end of the round going back to each others corners bowe actually pats holyfield on the stomach to say "wow man respect to you". There are others but these fights really enbody a rocky like scenario and you and ya husband will enjoy.
Rocky I and II are Oscar worthy and great movies. Rocky III is a great movie but it is more action film. You love the Creed/Rocky dynamic and Mr. T was SOOOOOO good as a villain. Do you have a prediction for the movie? Prediction? Pain...... Pain of enjoying it too much.
I hear ya. I just love a good antagonist. Mr. T gave us an incredible performance. His anger was so believable. And while he’s pretty scary, he’s also hilarious giving us lines like “I pity the fool.”
Am I the only one who thinks Paulie kind of has a case? I don't think Mick had to ask for Rocky to move him into the mansion. And Rocky knew by then that Paulie was at the bottom of the food chain. Did the guy even have a job?

Rocky 6 (Rocky Balboa) is really good, my 3rd favorite. Rocky 4 represents US vs USSR in the 80’s, Rocky 5 is about family and Don King.

Rocky 4 has a directors cut that holds up to time a bit better, but I’d still recommend the theatrical release first
