Thanks for having me out!! I’m trying to crank out my video at the moment!
You're the shit man
Love this colab. 2 solid dudes. 👊
Great to see your fab work.. bada$$ man. Studied what you do and did a link setup on a 10bolt in my delorean
Keep up the great work Dave! I love your content and have been following you since you were added to DED. You’re so much better in front of the camera now. I’m even thinking about getting a mountain bike again…shoulda never sold my Gary Fisher Greatful Dead edition Bike.
HELL YEAH BROTHER LET'S GO DAVE FOR THE WIN
Getting 2 Vice Grip Garage Videos in 3 days is a dream come true
I know, I am addicted to this great car channel.
Thank you!
I got giddy when i seen it show up!
18,000 views in 18 mins with a 10 percent like ratio. Well done VGG team, you deserve your success and thanks for sharing the journey with us
YES!!
Dave is definitely a welcome addition to the shop. As much as he deserves his own show, it's awesome watching him float around and helping out different people. Dave is definitely a true craftsman.
He has his own. thedirtheadshed.
I cannot think of a better place to grow up then to be one of Derek's little humans he's responsible for. I mean, really, it's the best of the best for a boy learning valuable skills with tools, cars, and bikes, tractors & hanging with Dad. Great job always, Derek 👍 🍻🍻
I got to meet the Brothers Bieri yesterday at the HRPT at the merch tent
Those boys are living the dream! Bradley was such a gentleman and the fellas were hanging out enjoying the day.
Very polite and very kind little fellas, raised right!!
@h0llowm3n That's so cool. I would have loved to make the trip down to Nashville. Derek and Jessica have done a phenomenal job raising respectful children. I love it when Derek has his boys in the episodes it reminds me of growing up in the 60s and 70s. We were alley mechanics working on the car was the only time we got to spend with Dad lol .
No kidding most 10 year olds get yelled at for not holding the flashlight steady. Derek’s kids. Hey pull the plugs and the headers and drop that gauge cluster in for me….thanks
@themackguyverchannel7713 So true I know that one well and God forbid ya drop a nut or bolt 😆
Knowing how far north you live the Mexican food sucked. South West Texas is where you get genuine Mexican food with all the Mexicans flooding into America.Lets go Brandon
Two guys could really start a show together.
Glad Dave is still around. Dirt everyday used to be my favorite show.
Dirt everyday should still be on in my opinion
His UA-cam channel is Thedirtheadshed
You being friends with Dave just makes me so happy.
I don't know, he opened with "Dave is here to do 'Rear End things'". lol

@@jorgejiminez-rk1uu Just a couple of cowboys up on Budlight mountain. I'm sure that's fine.
Just wanted to tell a guy thank you for taking us along with this build. I know almost nothing about video editing and content creation but what I do know is it takes a lot of time to “bang” out a video. So again just wanted to say thanks Derek and god bless you and the family!! ❤
I Agree 100.995%
Dave is a National Treasure in the Rod World. So much knowledge there.
WHAT!??! A VGG drop on a Monday??!? What a great way to start the week!!
No Doubt! I had thought I slept through a few days or something when I saw this pop up!! I was starting to feel like Rumplestiltskin 🤔🤔😂🤣😂
Just wanna say thank you for the non-stop grind you put in to bring us some of the best content UA-cam has ever seen. So incredibly motivating to knock out projects that have been awaiting the attention they need. Also, love seeing the father-son content, I have two boys (5 and 3) who already have their own mini tool kits and love helping me work on anything and everything.
Thanks for the kind words
The useless hubcraps are holding the box down, finally hub caps being useful NO…lol
Bentley is definitely the son every dad wishes he had! Great kid!
Dave's safety message is pure Gold! Protect yourself guys.
Anytime Dave is helping out is a good day!
Dave’s pure gold? I have three words for this “BOX THE FRAME”!!!!!👍🏼
My thoughts exactly. I’m excited to see how he fixes all those weak spots on the frame.
If they had the time it probably should get a whole new frame. But that wouldn’t really be the VGG way.
Best bang for the buck, BOX THE FRAME!
@@dailydouble2286 box tube would be strong and quite easy to fabricate.
It must be awesome having a Mini me around to help with projects. Whether it’s in collaboration or letting him have at it on the many projects a guy doesn’t have time for. Little Grip is a great channel, enjoy watching him working and learning.
This is why I love this channel, truck falls off the stands Derrick says this happens all the time, love it
Anyone else get excited when you see a new VGG episode posted?
Absolutely!
Me me!!!
For sure
Heck yeah!!
I got so excited I had to do a double take and then asked if I was in the right reality UA-cam actually doing something proper no UA-cam suppression other people in users get it
Chapelle is the best in the business. There is no one better for the real, accurate, true fabricator in the automotive industry! There is no one that can make this happen like Dave!
A 4 link looks easy, but there is a whole lot of geometrical figuring and measure once & cut twice stuff going on. Dave got it all figured out. Its like majic.
These two fellers working together is making this one smile.
I think this is going to be my favorite build to date. The chopped old gal is too cool.
I love Dave. Now known as Uncle Dave.. He is the most gentle polite bloke I know. Heart of gold, and will do anything for anyone.
A sign of respect for our elders .....always brought up to call neighbours and family friends uncle and aunty
Thank you Derek & family for your sacrifices for our entertainment! You guys are awesome!
I really enjoyed this episode of the 35 Ford but I can’t find anymore episodes where you do more and or completely finish the build. I have learned a lot watching you you take time to explain what you’re doing and how you do it I am also impressed in your family helping you out My wife will sometimes settle in beside me asking questions about what you’re doing she really likes the parts where you throw things like air filter’s and batteries etc. I needed a guy like you around 57yrs ago when I was 10 now lm to crippled up to even change a flat tire Anyway thanks for letting me chat we will continue to watch you as much as I can thank you Dan
Great project Derek! Love to watch your son work with you! And having Dave help you is an extra bonus. Dave is an incredible fabricator! A true friend and asset to your project. Looks like the dream team. Thanks for the best content on UA-cam.
The fact that "vehicle" made it back to Tennessee without rattling apart on the drive home (more than it did) is a miracle. Your guardian angel needs a vacation, Derek! 😂
Pretty Sure Derek's guardian angel has a mullet, smokes Marlboro, with a Millier in hand, all the while saying, "send it ".
Nice!!! Great use for that Lincoln Versailleses. Awesome to see Dave again as well.
I used the Lincoln V rear end in 34 Plymouth Coupe circle track car back in the mid 90s in the PNW. Worked well.
Yep, I'm diggin this build. Just got done doing a big block, TH400 and a 4 link holding a narrow 9 inch on bags under a 41 plymouth. So much fun.
Be well all.
as a guy who typically does project-work solo.... yeah it BLOWS MY MIND how much more gets done when just one more person is working-along. 1+1=7 for some reason.
Yes, I have found the same thing! I wonder how much of the boost is from doing stuff together, how much is from doing different stuff, and how much is from the morale boost you get from facing a challenge with a trusted friend. Cheers!
"BABE! GET THE POPCORN DEREK'S ON!"
Lacking a babe, My routine is yelling at my dog to get me a coldie, he doesn't do it, so I do it myself, then watch.
I just ate a whole big bag by myself. Now I've got popcorn belly! 🤦♂️
Dave Chappele need his own show with a person that is not as quiet as he is in life. Please make this man a superstar that he is!
That's what 4xFred was for.
He kinda does on UA-cam
He had one on Comedy Central in the early 2000’s
@@deadheaduderyeah he sure looks a lot different now since those days. Can't quite put my finger on what it is though.
@@BeardedFrog Look at MJ mate.
The education your kids are getting cannot be understated. Friggen awesome!!!
Thanks for your hard work Dave
Loved the fact that when the three of you lifted the bed off it was two men on one end, and little grip on the other by himself!!!! And he held it too!! Little strong man!!
Yep and I think Bentley had the heavy end as well.
Yeah he's a real one like his father
Benjamin Button
On a Monday. How great. Thank you Derek
So far this video is pure gold. Subscribed to Dave immediately. Love this truck.
The music is good, I like it. The talking is why I keep coming back and I'm having trouble doing both at the same time.
Sorry, I'm a little baked. I meant listening to both! Lol
Many Blessings sent to Derek and family...
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Derek,, we're so excited to watch VGG restore this wonderful old truck to it's lost glory,,, it deserves it.
Dave and a guy are a mach made in heaven wish you guys worked together all the time ❤
I'm reverse watching this build and I have to say I'm lovin what you are doing with this ole 35 . I so wish that you and I were buds because I would love to lay hands on this very sexy little rig . My specialty (if I actually have a specialty) is mostly cosmetic aspects of rigging rigs . I'm now 60 years OLD and lost the majority of my body tools, welders, spray guns, and even the best compressor I have ever owned to a total loss uninsured home fire due to a laps in insurance. The fire also claimed the lives of eleven very restorable and or already restored vehicles that I had acquired over years of collecting. Then to top things off a dope addicted neighbor we will call Robby M over a short period of time was helping himself to everything not permanently mounted in order of supporting his habbits . Regrettably Ole Robby M and 2 of his running buddies left this world when Robby drove the 3 of them into a huge pine tree killing himself and 2 friends that I know nothing about except that they kept lousy ass company before I was able to give him the ass whooping he so deserved by me . I'd never wish anyone dead over stuff and maybe even burning my home as scrapping metal is one way he kept money in his pocket. Before his death there were lots of arson fires of structures that had metal roofs and held farm equipment all of which stopped happening after his death .
Anyhoo, I wish UA-cam channels had came in years sooner as I do believe there was a time that I could have kept a very entertaining channel up and going strong or so I believe. I know the Good Lord does have a plan for me and maybe UA-cam is exactly what it is . I was forced on to Retirement Disability after a very serious work related accident No Fault of My Own that could have been curtains for me and I am absolutely certain that a small frame man or a woman would not have survived the extreme blow that I received working in the Springfield Tennessee Plant where I made my living as a Tool and Die Maker Machinist. Several parts of my anatomy are seriously affected by the accident. I may or may not have made a good decision in buying repairing 9th Gen Ford Trucks as I don't have a shop or even a concrete surface to work on as well as no walls nor roof over my head. I also have a huge love for bikes and have several Harleys and one pretty sweet old 750 four k Honda Chopper . Maybe if I invest in a nice big shed with an awning with a slab I might could make a go with the bikes, or maybe even set up a hell of a woodshop maybe making killer wooden interiors for Rat Rods as my interest in those is growing fast . I could probably use some opinions from a professional UA-cam feller like yerself. I do imagine with my being disabled I would be very limited. I'd very much like to meet you and yer family some time . I have a nice who her and her husband own a Fitness Center there in your neck of the woods . I live around 80 miles due north of you and yours
... The Fitness Center is called Relentles I believe.
Ps. If I neglected to say so in all my ramblings, I absolutely love the little 35 Ford the most of all the cool ones you've done . That's going to be one sweet ass little truck .
I love all of the encouragement and support that you give Little Grip.
He will be Vice Grip 2.0 by the time he is grown.
You definitely won't have to worry about who will take over for you when you are ready to retire.
Watching Derek doing his thing for Vice Grip Garage with his son Bentley doing the same thing in the background for Little Grip Garage is amazing. Fan for life!
Great video AGAIN!!! You never let a guy down . Always laughing and learning.
Derrick love all your videos found you a few years back was trying to put a lift on my 92 k1500 and the instructions were confusing me. Watched your video multiple times to get it installed. Now I'm about to rebuild my first motor has been in the back of my grandfathers shop since before I was born. Thanks for all you do for the car community.
Love when you and Dave do colabs. Dave is a fabrication genius love to watch him work his magic
Right in the beginning. Dave's optimistic outlook. Awesome.
Derek and Dave you are hilarious together lol 😂 love this. You both need to make videos together more often 💯 percent.
a guy went and subbed to Daves channel and already Lovin it thanks Dave
Ole dave's been getting a workout lately. Couldnt have a better fabricator on the job. Dudes a beast!
Nothing better than a Derek and Dave crossover episode! You fellers rock!
This is one of my favorites keep pumping out gold!
Dave is a freaking maniac and a national treasure. He manages to get into all kinds of cool projects. Two weeks ago I saw him on an episode of the Golden Girls from 1991. He was putting airbags on Blanche’s Buick.
Only guy I watch on UA-cam, I used to watch cleetus got burnt out on all the track stuff, but this guy here never gets old! VGG on a Monday?! Let's Gooooooo!
the track stuff is the only thing worth watching on cleetus. Unless you like being bored with RC planes and jet boats and helicopter paint.
Check out @thedirtheadshed. He builds some really great stuff and he is absolutely just a regular guy that happens to be gifted at suspension fabrication
Who doesn't love them some Dave!! Great video!!
I like that he mentions there are ways to make things work real well but they are just changing it.
Yay for Dave. All, strike that, most of the MT shows are drama heavy and unrelateable. Good to see the good guys getting visibility.
On a Monday! Awesome!
Love Dave he is awesome in every show I have seen him in. You should get him to help you do the rear and on your old Buick!
as soon as i saw dirt head Dave i got way to excited, these guys together are hilarious!
😂dude raised his arms like give me a hug. I love that guy I will subscribe to his channel.
Gettin ta hang with Derek and Dave on a Monday well I'll be dipped
Measurin and words is hard for a feller, I totally understand!😁Nice treat for a Tuesday morning Vice Grip video, AWESOME!!
Derek, brother, I love your channel partly because I learn something from each one, but also I so enjoy the way you so easily weave your family into the video. Cherish those moments! My son is grown, married, and has a son on the way. I have so many memories of working on projects with my son. Not only do we get to cherish those moments, they do too! Your son will follow in your footprints and brother, you’re doing a fine job! I don’t normally comment on videos but when I saw you hug your son…….it touched my heart!
Derek,
Thanks for all the great content! And, for introducing us to Little Grip! This truck project looks like you have your mitts full. As rough and cobbled together this beast was, I feel like this HAS to be named Fred Sanford!!
Good luck on this one. Just keep moving forward. This David appreciated that Dave chipping in on this. Keep the content coming, brother!
It's been SO cool seeing Chapelle on all these collabs with Roadkill, Roadworthy Rescues, VGG, etc! Keep it up, fellas!
Thanks Dave! Love your work and your work ethic. Derek as always love all your content and family.
The chemistry on you 2 is insane i hope we see Dave again
Love that you're putting Ford back into a Ford
I grew up watching Dave do 4x4 stuff. Now I'm watching Dave wrench with Derek with my son. Holy crap what a day to be alive 👊
You had me worried Derek, first time I've ever seen you down in the dumps. Look like Dave's positivity has returned you back to your old creative self.
Thanks Derek
I'm missing the NHL playoffs for this video...But when VGG has a video I'm here.... Thank you Derrick for the video.. everyone be blessed
Appreciate that
Loved the engine removal process just watch the mast on them lovely new doors when you go full up.
Derek, a few things i learned from rigging heavy textile machinery that may help you for future lifts with the forklift, the forks can be removed and reinstalled upside down on the rails. if you also remove the pallet load backrest, it allows the forklift to start its lift from a lower point on the mast. This gives better control for the engine lift, also the mast goes up a shorter distance and your ceiling fans are safe. lastly, if you drill a 3/4 or 1" ~12" in from the tip centered on the fork you can use it for a lifting hook to more safely attach chain. Alternately, when the forks and backrest are reinstalled correctly after your engine pick is complete, the hole in the fork can be used to install a ball hitch to move cars or trailers.
Just 50,000 to get VGG to 2 million!! LET’S GO!! Tell your friends about VGG!!
I saw that too, very well deserved.
Yer preaching to the choir, friend!
Nope, they can get a real job like the rest of us. Moneygrubbing youtubers. No thanks.
bro. You know this man works seven days a week right? He resurrects old cars get some running again and back on the road. He also has plenty of acreage that he mows and then bales the hay. Again, the man works seven days a week. Pretty sure he does more work than you.
And by the way, he’s pretty tight with his money. So. Don’t judge someone by what they do for a living. He has more work ethic in his pinky than you have in your whole body. And if that’s your attitude then fine we don’t need you. Or rather vice grip garage doesn’t need you.
So get lost. So get lost. @@chrisramsey3603
@@chrisramsey3603 and on this particular project, he’s using a Junk motor that he will rebuild himself and a junk transmission and a junk rear axle oou of an old car instead of doing what most UA-camrs would do is buy a brand new engine engine brand new transmission brand new differential rear axle. So bro, again, stop judging this man by what you see others do.
He is humble, and hard-working, a man as you would ever want to know
Knock it off I’m pretty sure Derek doesn’t need me to defend him but, I’m gonna do it anyways. Don’t be an a$$
Oh boy me and little man were just settling in for an evening show and ill be dipped
9:30 just randomly asks about the hubcaps and he knows they are Lancer repops. Love it!
Would love to see more Dave collabs. With your goofiness and his semi seriousness it makes for a funny duo. Gonna go watch his video after I get done with my doctors appointment and for sure subbing. Love to see this kind of work and how brains figure this stuff out.
Awesome content and a lot of fun to watch keep it up Derek and family, friends
A Monday episode!? Yes! Super pumped for this build!
Super cool Derek you got your son involved in the project!! Your channel is my favorite!! Regular blue collar dude turning turds into drivers!! Impressive! I think the mid-engine Rebel was the craziest!!
Please keep bringing in dave. Hes awsome.
So excited! 🤗
What hell yaaa more truck content sweet I love the video man I can't wait to watch this series happen
Derek my son drug home a 1976 chevy 2500 4x4 that hadn’t ran since 1997. I live 100 miles away so I turned him on to you and VGG. He had it running and driving in 3 days( with brakes😅). Keep up the good work.
Ooo yeah my son and I really appreciate and enjoy derek and his family I'm proud of Bentley and little grip garage the little humans kicking some tail so all I can say is well done little dude keep it going...
Yeah double the fun this week!🎉
Man, I always love sick week and hot Rod power tour. We always get multiple videos in one week. We’re so spoiled.
Love that you UA-cam fellas share the love. You guys are the best. Love this chopped ford truck. Will be following the series closely.
Glad to see you being able to toodle around the farm and do your thing with the family and a friend. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy the content.
Oh ya keep ‘‘em coming Derek love the truck mods
Always a pleasure to see new videos!!!
I look forward to the rebuilt. I took my DMV driver's test back in the mid-60s and used our 35 Ford shop truch. Straight exhaust that climbed up the right rear corner of cab, including a large wooden push bumper on the front. Simpler times, from California 😎✌️
Put the bare frame on a table to square it up. Save those wishbones and crossmember. They can be used on a 50's style rod. Great stuff. Can't wait to see it finished.
Wow Dave is such an international talent, did you know on top of being a really talented car guy he's also the best comedian in the world.
I love bonus videos!
Bentley, (Little Grip Garage), just doing his thing in the background and helping out now and then. Love it. Looking very confident.
Oh this was as real as it gets!!
For anyone thinking about their first Hot Rod project, this is a great example how things really go when your starting out or getting into Custom.
That motor didn't come out, the truck fell away from it!!
Good thing da kiddies weren't co-piloting, mo' betta a grown-ass man with his cap on backwards & spewing sage advice! Classic.....now you boys be safe.
Yeah. good thing ya got dat forklift D, that'll show 'em! That'll be fun to rebuild too. Ha!
Dave is the man.
What a delightful surprise
