PTSD can be triggered from any traumatic event not necessarily from time Reiner has developed split personality because of the trauma he is dealing with while also developing a new identity
Dissociative Identity Disorder has been found irl to develop from lost-lasting trauma taking place over a long time during the development of identity, usually very very young. I'm not an expert so take it with a grain of salt, I just find Reiner so interesting that I did my own research😅
There wasn't much that Hannes could do against the Titans back then. He(unlike the Scouts) never had to fight Titans or seen one up close before, because the walls were protecting them from the Titans.
Reiner's disassociation is actually understandable considering where it actually comes from.
It's hard to tell in the anime, but Eren's titan is actually about 50 feet tall and the Colossal Titan is about 200 feet tall. I think it's stated in the manga.
If Hannes didn't snatch up Eren and Mikasa when he did, there would be no Eren and Mikasa. There just wasn't enough time to save his mom.

I don't think Reiner has DID, It's just disassociation and severe PTSD. His way of coping so much trauma.
