The steel 5712 version goes clockwise, the gold 5712 goes counterclockwise ( look at 2:23 )
That's the different.

Patek is going to lose a lot of money on the 5711 imo. Going white gold instead of steal means you lost a majority of your rich middle eastern market which is substantial.

You think so? I would disagree on the 5811 and the 5712R as well as the Travel Time. Of course it’s sporty watches and nothing like an A Lange or the Grande Complications Patek does but they are much more tasteful than what AP released.
I personally am in Love with the 5712R and definitely would wear it.

@@zenon6493 Definitely the Patek market and product line has changed, not the level of quality. It is far less exclusive, someone said Patek is hunting on Rolex ground.
