The story between Ahsoka and Anakin is heartwrenching. I was like everyone else, not too keen on her at the start, but when she left the order I felt my heart drop out of my chest. I just thought as I went through TCW, "How are they gonna work in Ahsoka being awol in RotS?" I never imagined it would hurt like that. Just knowing there were even more people hurt by the end of Anakin Skywalker was brilliant. Even in Rebels she was fantastic.
Ok my rant is over. I will be in my corner crying if anyone needs me.

I must be the only person who liked Ahsoka day 1. I saw The Clone Wars movie in theatres and instantly liked the energetic little girl. However when it came time for her to leave the order I was so happy. I remember cheering when this scene stealer finally got kicked out of the show. She went from being a great and fun side character, to an unbelievably forced and annoying main that stole scenes and moments and development away from everyone else. I went from liking her to loathing her. I was glad she got kicked out, but I was unironically hoping for the show to end with Anakin killing her in Order 66. Would have loved to see Anakin kill Ashoka at the end of the show, would have been pure kino. And I'd have been siding with Anakin the entire fight.

I get your viewpoint, but she is Filoni's OC Donut Steel waifu, so how could she have gotten anything less? I still very much love how things turned out, but I definitely agree that she's got the Poochy effect (I think that's what it was, Homer's cartoon character that he tried pushing too hard) and was around too much.

@@jessicawinchester158 Why is it so hard for Ahsoka fans to accept that she's not important for the overall story? Anakin turned to the dark side for Padme. Anakin cares about Padme so much more than Ahsoka. Padme beats out Ahsoka every single time in Anakin's mind and he'd still have turned to save her. Had Ahsoka been there and tried to prevent him turning, Anakin would have just killed Ahsoka on the path to saving Padme.

The final few eps of Clone Wars were so utterly bad it was like the Last Jedi all over again. I guess one takeaway though is if you indeed polish a turd up enough, midwits will enjoy it. I mean that's all Filoni did with Clone Wars, polish turds. He just tried to come up with the stupidest most offensively bad ideas he could come up with, then tried to see if he could dramatize them and pull of the execution of these garbage ideas well enough to get away with it. That's because Filoni is a hack and couldn't or rather wouldn't develop Anakin because he hates strong men, so he just decided to get around the problem by vicariously developing Anakin through Ahsoka. It's not cool though it's absolute garbage. Ahsoka just ended up stealing from the development of everyone around her. Go and retwatch the Clone Wars and see the pattern. Filoni hates masculine men and feminine women. All feminine women and masculine men are punished or ignored. Padme has all of her scenes stolen and basically gets kicked out of the show in favor of Ahsoka or Bo Katan, Anakin stops having any development and his character starts being shown through Ahsoka. Luminara is constantly degraded and her Padawan turned to evil out of nowhere just to make Ahsoka look good, it's ridiculous how far Filoni disparages feminine women and masculine men in the show. All development of Clone Wars shifts to being done through masculine women like Ahsoka and Bo, or feminine men. It's awful.
REAL Star Wars is 1-6 and that's it.

She was understanding and empathetic. Too many people lack sympathy for Anakin in Ep 2 especially. TCW did expand upon Padme greatly in the first 4 seasons where she got a good amount of attention, but in the later seasons she just suddenly disappears and is rarely involved anymore. I hated how they just dropped her for boring Ahsoka. The first 3 seasons particularly were very good in regards to Padme, but it was S4 were Ahsoka really started butting in and overtaking her story. Ahsoka was pushed into Padme's story arc in S3 but it wasn't detrimental to either character at that point, so it was interesting, but then in S4 Ahsoka immediately starts hard taking over and pushing Padme out of scenes and then S5 and onwards Padme barely appears. She just got pushed out of the show by Ahsoka.

Then oddly she became my favorite Star Wars character. Never saw it coming.
-- So when I saw how the Jedi Orders Council treated their very own to judged her guilty without consulting the Force for the truth, or given her fair Jedi trials first - I felt then and there that Yoda and the whole Jedi Orders Council( I repeat - C O U N C I L - and not the Jedis under them ) deserved what happened to them from Order 66. Read a lot of comments. Late to Star Wars and have to say, I instantly loved her. The smart mouth side kick reminded me of my niece when she stayed with me for awhile and then her story happened and it was really tough to watch. I’m excited to continue seeing her but always watch old clips of her and Anakin time to time for nostalgia.

I think this new Balan character was probably a former Jedi Temple Knight (or was in training to be a Temple Knight during Order 66). I can't remember if Temple Knights were all force wielders (not Jedi), but they were definitely force sensitive. Anyways... I can't wait for the show to start.

    • @functionatthejunction
      @functionatthejunction 5 місяців тому

What are you referring to as a temple knight? There were Jedi Consular, Jedi Guardian, and Jedi Sentinels. All three were Force using, trained Jedi knights.

Anikin knew about order 66. in a way. He had visions when he was a young Jedi. like with Padme. I bet he saw Ahsoka get killed in one and that's why he trained her so hard.

Great recap! You covered all the important points without going overboard. I'm anticipating great reviews from you.
I appreciate your shared love for Star Wars. I'm currently preparing for the major rewatch of Ashoka-centric Clone Wars and Rebels. However, Rebels left me with many unanswered questions.
I noticed that in the Mandalorian, Ashoka is dressed in black or gray, but in the Rebel epilogue, she transformed into Ashoka the White (like Gandalf's transformation). I'm eagerly anticipating Dave's explanation of what happened to Ashoka in the temple at the end of "World Between Worlds", how she disappeared during the initial Trilogy, and how she found Luke. There are so many loose ends.
What's particularly haunting to me is the LucasFilms banner in red, suggesting a death or loss battle. Thus, this first season will keep me in suspense until the very end.

Thank you! Yes her grey outfit, and then switching to white is interesting. Good catch on the red Lucasfilm logo! The rumor of a place called “the beyond” might have some significance to that. The Beyond is referenced in the Thrawn Ascendancy novel Greater Good. In the unknown regions, some force sensitives called the force, the beyond. Possibly even the cosmic force. Interesting idea

The master in the series Is extremely thoughtful and kind. Avoiding violence and preferring dialogue. I like him. He is a dark sith who has clarity, is a man of his word, and thinks things through. He has a lot of wisdom and isn't just made out to be this villain. He strikes me as a stoic or philosophical sith.
