Dave Mustaine wrote Sad But True back in 1929.
yeah right. Hugh Tanner wrote'em all
He wrote fixxxer in 1867.
Oh shi, I guess I’ve opened Pandoras box
@beinmetal No friiiend, you opened Dave's box of voodoo dolls. He's been collecting them since 1472.
Good to see you well Andriy. 👍
At around the 7th century BC, soon after he finished writing the Old Testament, Dave Mustaine began writing every single metal riff that ever existed. The first riff he ever wrote is what we now know as the Damage Inc bridge part.
I know this is a meme, but at this point, megadeth fan boys are so stupid they may one day think this is true
I love how the first riff he wrote is *specifically* the Damage Inc bridge lmao😭😭
Epic, thanks. The last part caught me off guard, but alright.
@@ddduv Oh wow hi
Dave created the first metal riff 6000 years ago, right after he said “Let there be light.”
And from multiple translations over the millennia, the phrase turned into “Hit the lights”
Dave Mustaine wrote "one" riff and also solo in 1856
1856??? Thats to old
Man that photo of Jaymz with his tuff leopard gloves. So cute. Reminds me of my 14-year-old son. 9:20
Dave Mustaine taught James and Lars how to ride a bike and to use the big boy potty
Help, i'm seeing a very blurred version of The Great Southern Trendkill album cover and i can't unsee it
Lmao I see it too
Dave mustaine wrote the four horsemen with Beethoven in 1802
He copied it from Bach! Don’t believe that liar Beethoven! He couldn’t even hear what he was writing!
Damn, I thought James has been looking for a singer 'till Master to focus on his guitar playing, not the other way around.
In a lot of interviews he mentions that very early into Metallica's life he switched back and forth between wanting to be the singer or guitarist.
@@evancole6852they even played one gig with some dude on rhythm guitar instead of James in 1982
What about the Trapped Under Ice main riff that also appeared on Impaler by Exodus? Do we know when was it written?
Definitely later than the Die one, since Kirk tells so
@@beinmetal yeah I guess it kinda makes sense because Kirk would probably not shut the fuck about it😂
trapped under ice riff is also Helloween - Ride The Sky
@@ritualdeathmetal they also used it for Impaler on Tempo of the Damned 100% with Kirk's permission.
@@Nestorglass I have heard about this. Something about them wanting it to be just like the original track they wrote 20 years before they actually recorded it
Has your beard become thicker lately? Looks badass. Also your playing on hit the lights might be slower than 'tallica but you're really tight. You playing the riffs gives the videos a great touch too btw. Glad you're doing well!!
Thanks man!
Dave Mustaine has written 72 seasons no doubt abt it
CONGRATS ON 100K ANDRIY ‼️‼️
Great stuff, thank you very much. Including songs in a form of you playing them adds something unique to the experience, so I think it's a great idea that you can do more often if you feel comfortable enough with it.
Really appreciate it?
Sucks that I never got a notification for this until 3 weeks after the fact, but still glad I got to see it! It’s been a while, and thinking about it, I really miss these history memories (lessons?) from you Andrei… You really polished the 🤘 outta this one and it shows!
Happy to see you still jamming away, and finding new life in playing the 🎸… Keep it up!
Hugh Tanner didn't write those songs, Hugh did write some early lyrics on Hit the Lights though I believe.Anything Mustaine says should be taken with a pinch of salt! Especially in 1984 at the height of his bitterness!
Ron Mcgoveny will attest to James writing those songs.
No Remorse riffs were also written by James prior to Metallica as Ron Mcgovney also points out.
I'm sure Dave wrote those, too. Hugh and James are most likely lying about it. Little known fact: Dave also wrote all the riffs on Black Sabbath's first 6 albums before he got kicked out. As well as Polyphia's first 3 albums and he is secretly writing Steve Vai's solos
@@sutoneru-sama9836 Well Yeah I mean Dave has written every musical outpouring in existence since cavemen learned to grunt in tune.
@@deletedhero5579 Very true. He also invented the spider grunts
@@sutoneru-sama9836 Spider grunts 🤣 that got me
Die by his hand/Creeping Death bridge is also in High Plains Drifter
You are awesome, Andriy, stay strong, from Latvia.
That demo Creeping death was 🔥
man cant believe how i miss your vids i just keep rewatching them and get old memories
9:41 lmao that censhorship killed me xd
Dave was writing one of his solos when he accidentally discovered general relativity
In 1978, Mark Biedermann formed Blind Illusion when he was 15 and wrote riffs like Kamikaze and Death Noise that were extremely visionary and avant-garde for that time, foreshadowing the thrash metal genre to come.
Great to see you again frrieend! 🤘
Loved this
Dave Wrote Raining Blood back in 1788
So long ago?
There’s evidence he copied it from an obscure Mongolian tune from 1332.
@@MrOoYTno no no Dave the barbarian famous for creating riffs with his bone guitar straight from mammoth tusks
@@pedroa.c7902 he copied from monkey chants
perfectly researched and analyzed frriend
i cant remember where i heard it i think it was an interview with ron mcgovney but he definitely said the intro riff on no remorse was from leather charm
Doesn't that snippit from creeping death sound a bit like Sails of Charon from the Scorpions? Or a bit like some stuff from Rainbow? I think the inspiration for later Power Metal bands came from those guys, not Kirk...
Know who has never clamed Hugh Tanner wrote Hit The Lights or Motorbreath? Hugh Tanner.
To be fair, we have no idea how much of Hit the Lights was written by James or who wrote the initial riff because Metallica isn't sharing that info. Though, they have added a credit to two Kill 'Em All songs that didn't exist until around 2011, meaning the band decided to acknowledge Hugh's contribution which likely meant a huge payday for him since those residuals would have covered nearly 30 years of sales & performances (yes, you get paid when a band performs your song live).
The credits for kill em all haven't changed since 1983
Creeping Death is still my favorite. The live versions are incredible! Especially when Jason was in the band. I hate he left.
First will be National Acrobat, which they "quoted" on on fade to Black
Jk
Please, don't exclude Lars. He wrote the second main riff of the song. The one that's played for 2 minutes under the final guitar solo.
Mustane, like Moose? Or Mustaine like Must? Which is the correct pronunciation?? I always thought it was Must.
Hug tanner : Hit the lights + Motorbreath.
Then Dave Mustaine, and James & Lars, then Cliff and Kirk.
Hugh didn't write those songs, James did.
Oldest riff? The bridge to Four Horsemen. 1973 - 1974. Originally heard on the album “Second Helping”. Can’t help but tell me that James didn’t lift the riff from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
David Bowie's Andy Warhol came out in 71 and theres a riff on Master of Puppets copied from it.
Cliff based Damage Inc intro on a Bach piece I believe so that HAS to be the oldest
dave mustaine wrote the four horsemen originally called mechanix. I doubt he stole any riff from lynyrd skynyrd, riffs sound similar all the time,
@@daves_not_here_mannnthe slow part in the four horsemen is sweet home Alabama by Lynyrd skynyrd which Dave showed off as a joke to Lars since Lars wanted to slow down the song. So you’re wrong. Btw Dave himself told this story you can find it easily.
@@daves_not_here_mannnWell all the riffs in Mechanix are based on other riffs.
@H.E.M. dude the riff may have been inspired by sweet home alabama but it wasnt played note for note. It sounds completely different. I wouldnt call that ripping off lynyrd skynyrd.
Diamondhead!
You have not up dated your other channels I thought you had been drafted and sent to the front!
4:59 what a surprise, the only 2 mediocre songs on that album are the ones Cliff didn't help write
To be fair he only wrote the harmonies on those songs, and he only wrote 3 parts on master of puppets album and that album is far from mediocre.
7:10 HAHAHAHA
Cliff weote the bells riff at Maxwell. Its on the wmd of CD 1. he makes it up as he goes along and it slowly sounds more familiar. That was 1982. 🫡
HEY YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!!
It was NEITHER of them it was Lloyd Grant who helped lars and James write Hit the Lights for the metal massacre album from Brian Slegal. Mustaine didnt join till after that compilation came out.
YES!! i was looking for somebody to mention Lloyd
