#Metallica #72Seasons
Rob is so humble and talented musician. He has been with Metallica for 20 years now, that is longer than Cliff and Jason together. Rob perhaps a kind of saved Metallica from a self destruction and pushed it the next level. Thank you Robert!
Exactly ❤
Perhaps your kind of overly exaggerating..
He might of been a positive influence but he was the safe option back then, Hes never really fit into the band and they definitely never reached a next level. DM was decent but Hardwired left a lot to be desired and this album doesn't sound like a step forward at all.
The antithesis to the master of puppets lol
That was Kirk
My favorite thing is that he refers to James, Kirk, and Lars as his "friends." That's a very important dynamic to have in a band, especially for guys at their age. It really feels like they're all inspiring the best in each other these days.
I think Robert is just so wholesome. His gesturing his attitude and acting with the band especially with his expressions on stage he is just a likable dude.
He is such a humble man and such a kick-ass, amazing bass player
Metallica has always had the bassist they need.
Especially bob rock
@@Ottophil rob bock
Man Rob is such a real one. He’s so thoughtful and seems like he’d be an amazing friend.
Well it's only taken twenty years, but I guess people have finally stopped calling Rob "the new guy". Glad he's now getting the recognition he deserves. At last.
right? so cool. i mean he's been their bassist for half of metallica's existence. I'd say he's earned his place!
@@JoeySimon True, but he has 0 hits or massive selling albums with them, which is why....
LOL all he had to do was stop playing his bass on stage while walking like a frog/crab 👍
@@javiercojoba I always liked that. It's stupid. In a fun way.
@@johnknight9150 Remember crabcore? LOL I love Rob! Metallica are lucky to have him!
Commenting on Kirk's interview here because they turned his comments off because they want to protect him rightfully so. I've never seen Kirk open up so much, especially about his relationship with Rob, I didn't realize close the two guys were, and how much of an intimate bond of trust they have. Listening to how Rob helped Kirk through the pandemic was beautiful.
What? I haven’t listened to it yet why where people being so mean?
@@NoName4MePLZ935That's what I want to know too. I was going to put a comment about how much I appreciate the interview with him, because he's such an interesting person. He's actually my favorite member of Metallica. Then I saw the comments were turned off.
So nice to get time to listen to Rob. I don't think Metallica would have lasted as long as they have without him. His demeanour is just what the band needed when he joined and I'm sure that has helped over the last twenty years. Can't wait to see them at Download festival!!
Rob fits so well into Metallica and he’s been such a wonderful creative addition since ‘03. So glad he was picked as Metallica’s bassist and I’m glad that he’s stuck around!
@MIND thats because james and lars suck! and everybody has to walk on eggs around james..even lars. i dont get how are people so in love with james, as a musician yes, he is great and has my respect. but as a person no. i wouldnt like to meet him.
They won't let Rob contribute to song composition, his role is to ride James and Lars just like Kirk. Rob knows his role and got no problem with that, that's why he is still around the band. He even said he have a riff galore that never got listened to, and he's ok and I'm ok with that because most likely it doesn't sound or will never sound like a Metallica song.
@@alchitran Rob is Ok with his role in the band because he’s allowed a creative outlet elsewhere. That something Jaymz learned to accept after Newsted left and Metallica almost fell apart.
Robert is the consummate professional to bring out the best in the other artists. He contributed as bassist on Jerry Cantrell’s award winning solo albums.
We need more Rob interviews. He's a cool guy and monster player! 🤘
I love his energy on stage and what he brings to Metallica.
Jason was a hard act to follow, but Rob just does his own thing and it's great.
This guy brings so much passion and positive vibes to the band, he really is the glue that has kept Metallica together
In many ways, Rob saved Metallica from the downfall. 👍 Great member of a great band.
Gotta love this guy! What a class act and wonderful personality!
Rob is such a great guy!
I love how honestly proud of this record Robert is. 🔥❤️🔥 Can’t wait to hear it all.
This interview just flew by, I could listen to Rob talk for hours.
I cant wait for the album!
Legit just been listening to it while doing some work and my god how was that 54 minutes
You are a great musician, and an even greater human being.
Well said
I was at the wedding band show in SC. Awesome show, but Robert really stood out to me. Incredible presence and great musician
I’d love to hear the story of how that whole situation came about.
Rob seems like such a humble and likeable guy!
Yes i think like that
He is one
He's always been that kwl dood even in the eighties with suicidal tendencies ST!😎🤘🤘✌️
Considering how intense Lars and James are, they definitely needed a partner for Kirk on team chill to even things out 😅
He’s a bass player!
It’s wonderful getting to admire these great people and having done so for almost 30 years now.
From being a teenager and waiting for hours just to see them show up to an event- to seeing them play shows.
Love from Stockholm Sweden- “var i helvete är mina träskor” /Lars Ulrich
What a great interview! Robert is so down to earth and has great insight. I would love to hear that idea he sent to Lars! I really love that he was very involved in the writing on this album. Can't wait to hear his singing and the bass breaks!
6:05 thank you Robert for giving a blueprint on how to help a band member heal and how offering support is done.
Glad to see the guys riding high again, refreshing album with some great licks and riffs
Robert you are a great natural man and a fabulous bassist and I love ❤️ you
Rob is such an amazing musician and human being, extremely talented and humble.
this album for me is a holy fire of a heavy metal masterpiece soo much life and energy and this album cover just pops man just like that bad ass yellow with a little bit of black just pops as well and if that tells you anything about the way it sounds sonically wow
❤️🔥🐍METALLICA🎸❤️🔥
Rob on Metallica is great specially happy for him career wise however Rob on Infectious Groove i freaking Love
Great interview! 👏
Rob is the glue that's keeps them together imo ..a calming soothing voice...top bloke
Oh we feel it, Rob!
Thank you rob
Robert Trujillo is crazy talented, Metallica to me is Cliff and Jason, even though no one has ever heard Jason play bass on a Metallica album.
Guys, I wish you health because this band must exist as long as possible. Regards from Poland.
Very talented guy, also good person.
An awesome human being. His playing and personality has had a amazingly positive impact on the band.
To me Rob is the reason we still have a Metallica to this day, he’s so kind and brings a calm energy to the bands dynamic. Also he positively shreds. Thank you for everything Roberto! 🤘
Metallica should cover an ST song!
👏👏👏👏 ROBERT TRUJILLO, UN GRAN MAESTRO, UNA GRAN PERSONALIDAD... SALUDOS DESDE RIOHACHA, COLOMBIA...
Some have said it in other comments but this guy absolutely saved Metallica. I honestly believe that not only is he amazing as a player but the positive vibe and down to earth energy seemed to have a calming effect on some of the volatility that the band was rolling around in.
Dude, you killed it on this album, especially Room of Mirrors! More, more!
❤️👏🏻 🥇Thank you Rob
Always so well spoken and thoughtful.
This is a great interview. So nice to see. Rob's the coolest.✨
I love this band
Great to hear Rob at length!
Rob really is awesome! Such a humble guy and seems like the type of person who would easily sit down with you and have a beer.
Rob you're beautiful patience is everything
Awesome guys! 🤘🥁🤘
Loved this interview and he seems like such a good, envisioned talented creative human. Music heals in so many ways I cannot imagine a day without.
Love Rob, man. Great interview.
Wow! Roberts humility and grace is everything Metallica deserves and needs….his input has injected life into this band that we’ve all loved for decades!!
What a great interview!! Love Robert ❤️, he's honest humble and very talented ❤️🎸 Thanks for sharing ❤️💙🖤🤍
Robert, you're so awesome ! Thank you for all your hard work and the way you put your heart and soul into Metallica. God bless your heart.
What a lovely guy❤
Love this band ❤
Good job Robert 😮
Great interview👍
Infectious Grooves!
Love interviews like this
Infectious Grooves.
OMG! Thank you Rob!
yo rob is so underrated he is definitely one of my favourite bassists ever!!
He is definitely the perfect fit for Metallica. I love this guy
I've listened to the Howard Stern interview on XM and the full interview with the full group and I think the group is in a great place. It helps that they don't have to have the pressure of a record Label saying where's the new music they can create at their own pace. Rob to me you weren't the new guy from day one you were the RIGHT guy at a turning point for Metallica and Death, Hard, and 72 shows that. Much ❤
Robert states, "Every note is a statement that appears on this record coming from the heart and soul of who we are every note is important." That is why Metallica is the greatest rock band. They are down to earth, humble, and professional. They are better today than they were 20 years ago. They are still growing and developing as a band. I can't wait to see them in Minneapolis Minnesota in August 2024.
See ya there brother!
the bass as an instrument in regards in an orchestra situation, it HOLDS and brings EVERYTHING together. I see Rob and his way of understanding and care for everyone is very great and what I aspire to be as I grow both personally and musically thank you ROB thank you METALLICA !
great interview, the guy asking questions actually asked some deep questions while listening to and responding well to Robert who gave real and direct answers with some interesting but relevant tangents
Que grande y que bajista de la puta madre Roberto!! Ojalá algun día tenga la suerte de verte en vivo en Montevideo Uruguay. Vengan por primera vez 🙏🇺🇾🔥🔥
Rob has ruled since the Suicidal Tendencies days. Amazing player and person.
It resonates already! Awesome record!!!🤟🤟
Hey Rob, you make an realy good job with metallica, iam realy proud of you, how good you make it, pls stay yourself as good as possible, and to all the orhers Metallicas, you also makes your job absulutely well, if id could, id will give you all an hug..., please stay allways human, stay some personal to yourself, you all earned to be yourself, everytime an everywhere, pls allways remember you all are humans, pls dont care if somone not understands you..., iam allways with you as humans (fuch the ordians and press, make no preassure more as you need, you are all!!! also jason belongs to you, iam with you and iam wish you most private times...(as real persons you are more powerfull!) Greetings from Germany❤ 👍
Rob is the best bass player Metallica has ever had. There, I said it. Musically he has the previous members covered. We long time Suicidal Tendencies & Infectious Grooves fans knew straight away what Metallica got when he joined. He’s a beast.
come on bruh. rob can play anything but he could never write the way cliff did
@@greekneek How old are you?
@@skoottar show me a song Rob wrote that is comparable to Orion please.
@@greekneek writing a song isn’t a comparison of one’s ability over another to play bass
@@skoottar I’m talking about the ability to craft good songs. Cliff had his own original style and wrote amazing music. There’s a thousand people technically better but who cares? Technique doesn’t define the best musician. The music they create does
Good dude. Hell of a musician. Grounded family man. Has become core to the band.
Hey thanks Robert we love you to death. Everyone who lives in the town I live in we respect you so much. Thank you also because Metallica and your family we are so appreciative of what you have provided with us. You guys know who I am and who my family is thanks so much guys.
Jason was good, Cliff was great but this guy has been the best Metallica bassist! He’s obviously been pushing the rest which is what you should be doing!
He’s also brought peace the band and longevity!
I just love Rob and the band xxxIrish love and support xxxto all
What a great interview! Thanks !
Myyyy precioussss
Rob is one of my all time favorite bass players!
Robert becoming a Metallica member is one of the most important moments of the band.
Thank you Rob!
I like this guy, he's so chilled...!!
I really enjoyed this interview 😊... How often do you play his songs
Truly enjoy this guy reminds me of you in some ways…
Rob, the base GOAT
😊
I was a Suicidal Tendencies fan before I was a Metallica fan. And Before that I was an Ozzy fan. Rob has played with all three. That's so amazing.
❤️ Such a fantastic role model for young artists.
LOVE YA ROB ! YOU ARE MAGIC !
The new album is amazing so far all 4 released songs are 🔥
I’m not even a heavy metal music fan, but really enjoy Metallica. Very talented group of guys.
Class act
One of the best. God bless you brother.
So excited about this album. Can't wait.
Why is Kirk Hammetts commentary turned off?
Love how bass heavy the album is reminds me a bit of the black album in terms of bass👍🏾
Yeah I agree but Metallica needs to give Rob more parts. I feel they don’t let his playing come out with bass driven songs, solos , or more complex lines -- all of which he could play , and would make Metallica even more interesting. Hey, there’s always the next album!
Write that down, Lars and James 😂
@@alessandromorosin3251 that would be freakin awesome to hear more complex stand out bass parts because he’s totally capable…. They really should bring back the instrumental and match orion…. Now that would be an awesome addition.
Guys! This is the next level from And Justice for All, not from the last Album. Please tell each other “We did it”. You guys have created what your fans have been begging for since 1990!!! This album is not a repeat of anything in the past. It is just simply the next level and just everything a Metallica fan has dreamed of.
I must disagree, death magnetic is a phenomenal album.
I can't wait for the honeymoon phase to be over. That's when we can actually discuss whether or not if it actually holds up.
Rob just seems like a great dude. I always thought that about him
A thoroughly class act, and an excellent bassist too.
Thanks for the insights. 🔥
Rob is such an asset to this band. His influence should not be understated. He is exactly what this band needed and is a shining light. He knows his role. He is pure class.
Can't wait for Kirk's and Lars' episodes!
