We have been on the Road since the beginning of December 2018. Started in Sydney and hoping to finish in London around September 2019. All we have are our 2 Suzuki DR650s. This is Episode 6 of our little adventure.
Borneo... Known by the locals as Kalimantan. This is a huuuge Island. 3rd Biggest in the
world in fact! and it has a whole lot to offer. This episode is our longest yet, but that is only because so much happened in the short time we were there.
we had tough roads, tough weather, bike issues, plenty of wildlife including Orangutans in the jungles of Tanjung Puting. Small accidents and some not so small accidents. Met new friends, caught up with old friends, and loved every part of it! action packed week or so for us on this incredibly beautiful Island.
Enjoy

I don't understand how smartphones get a signal all over the world in the middle of nowhere. It makes no sense to me. It is not a GPS and satellite. You guys are far better than "itchy boots" (Noraly). There is no comparison. It is amazing when pronouncing the name of places you talk just like them. Just like me when I am imitating them being silly with their accent. If you get that down, you would be mistaken for a white indian/indonesian/whatever. Thanks so much. If you guys had a weekly series you would be very big. You two have not changed much in 4 years. Amazing. 😍😍
Still have a few episodes to catch up but I must say this has been one the best motorcycle adventure series I'm following, truly awesome, well done you two, what a fantastic trip!! 👍👍
Thankyou mate, really appreciate your feedback but if youre only on Borneo you have quite a few left yet haha.
Feel free to share with any friends or groups you think would like the series, it would really help us out.
@@Northandleftabit I know, you're already riding in the Stans, I'll get there too. 😂
I motorbiked Borneo in 2016 with my ex MRS. Had the time of my life. Beautiful place. Made it from Kota Kinabalu to Sepilok then down to the river then went over to the World music festival
Great footage guys 👍
Thanks mate im glad you're enjoying them. Keep up the awesome work on your channel.
Just spend a great deal of my evening watching all of your videos guys. It looks amazing (except for the accident part in the last video of course...). And I can say I’m a bit jealous of your adventure! Can’t wait to see the rest of the videos and hope you’re both doing fine! :D xx ps. The pasta arribiata joke cracked me up
+Karlien Spobeck thanks Karlien - that means a lot. Hope you are doing well wherever you are in the world! 😉
This series is incredible. I’d love to see a tv station sign you guys up. You’ve a great chemistry, you are both great to listen to, funny and the challenge you took on was incredible. This channel should have way more followers. Damn algorithms.
1:42 “like a glove”. Great call back 😂
Sorry to hear your predicament. Unfortunately it is how things work there the party "at fault" would always ask for compensation from those perceived to be at higher economic status (eg. a car hitting a bike will almost pay for damages regardless of whose fault!). I dread the time when I had to do this myself, and like you I was glad enough that no one died and move on.
Yeah it's really tricky but definitely could have been worse. Riding this many kms accidents are bound to happen.
Can't wait for your next video.
Wish both of you okay. 🙏
Great series so far. I'm really surprised that you don't have 1 million subs. Can't wait for the next episode.
Thanks mate, you never know we might get there one day. Glad you enjoyed them regardless, there are more videos to follow don't worry.
Amazing, enjoy your adventure
Another enjoyable edition. Well done.
Fantastic boys, what a great journey
Glad you guys are okay. Safe travels amigos!!!
Looking forward to more videos guys!
Love it lads keen for the next one👍🏻
Glad everyone is ok
Great coverage of an awesome trip. Thx
Awesome videos, hope all is well. Hopefully more videos to come
Love it lads all the best and take care 👍🏼
These vids just get better and better, really enjoying the trip, your approach to issues and above all the awesome friendship you guys have is priceless. Right! on to the next bit of the trip.
This is better than T.V!
Great video guys. Sorry for the accident traffic is crazy in this part of the world.
Excellent adventures. Asia has been home for over 20+years and I cycled Jakarta to Dili and lots of other parts of Asia and I love going out on long distance Motorcycle (typically Scootering) adventures. Hospitality and welcoming smiles of S.E Asia is why it will always remain home.
Yeah so true it's an awesome place
Guys keep up the good work and enjoy your trip. Been watching your channel every morning when I wake up to go work out. I absolutely enjoy these adventure videos.
There should be more coming out soon. Thanks for the feedback 😊
I really enjoy your vids. Laid back style, good communicators, treat locals with respect, adventurous... excellent. I really commend you on how you handled the accident. Not your fault and you were out of pocket but your care and concern for the injured girl was front and centre in your reaction. Respect.
Keep riding stay safe!! The place of this series is reminiscent of Binky! No worries though! It stands well on its own and will forever.
Thanks mate, probably a stupid question but who is Binky?
Super seria. Powodzenia na dalszej drodze! Have a great ride!
Great video! We just left Borneo, it was amazing and we were so lucky to see some wild orangutangs!! Was absolutely incredible :) I really hope you enjoy your time there :)
I love ur journey and it documented naturally. You will understand and how widely indonesia with different people.
offroad vibes... yes
Yeah fairly tame offroading haha but we're having a good time learning along the way
Okay...
Luckily the accident went out fine! Love your videos and adventures! Good luck and Greetings from Germany!
Thanks mate, yeah it was a horrible experience at the time and all very confusing but it could have been alot worse
Just subbed!!! Im just in bali now and rented a dirtbike to get around and now im itching to do what you guys are doing!
Love your videos!! Keep it up. New sub
Mantap mister 👍🏻
Disabled the clutch switch and kick stand switch on my DR650 straight away.
Great video guys and excellent editing skills in my opinion. Looking forward to your next upload and if I get one ask, please continue to upload this trip, it looks like it will make an awesome series 👊💪👍
Hi Nick, thanks for the message it's really good to get feedback and keeps us motivated.
Good news is we made it and there should be a new video (Malaysia) coming out this week.
We really want to get to the stans videos as that's when the real adventure kicks off.
Excellent news. I'll be looking forward to those then, but don't go skimping on the 'up to' vids 😄, they're all good from where I'm sitting 👍
I have pitifully little experience of the Far East but I worked for five weeks in Thailand and I was blown away by how utterly charming the people were there. Seems that my experience is not unique! Nobody wanted a selfie with me though which if you saw me wouldn’t surprise you. 😂
Nice man)
I am wondering if my 88' honda africa twin 650 could also manage to do such journey , PS. It was pleasure to watch the video.
Nicee dudee,
In Borneo, the road conditions are indeed still a lot of dirt roads, not asphalt, especially when it rains the roads will become slippery. so just enjoy😁😄
Awesome footage guys. Dont understand why you don’t have allready 200 k subscribers. Great work and Greetings from Bavaria 😉
Thanks Marc, maybe we will get there one day. We hope to have some more videos out soon. We got too busy with riding on the trip so left the editing for after.
@@Northandleftabit completely understandable but cant wait for more videos. Yall are both outstanding guys, really enjoyable and entertaining to watch and incredible video makers. This. Will. Catch. Fire!
when you guys finish the trip, can you do like a QA of what you liked loved about the trip, how its helped you in your life, how it has hindered you, what you didnt like. do you recommend this as a bucket list item? im srsly considering it
Omlette with spices and um ......goodness :) :)
Gents, first you get us hooked, and then you stop uploading... WTF?? hehehe Any more vids coming our way??
Awesome series guys. What happens next?? (how ya goin from Canada)
Hi Jaden, thanks for the message it's awesome to get comments and feedback.
Good news is there should be our next video out this week. Editing on the road was too time consuming and we had some riding to do.
Would love to ride Canada one day.
Come again to Indonesia, for other Adventures, stop by at Java island call me. And take care
oh who needs to sleep anyways... But I have to stop watching your videos now hehe. Glad to hear that the girl was ok and the accident wasnt any worse!.. And yes, that's kinda crazy here that you end up paying for accidents even if it's not your fault. We're bules, that's what matters.. I got a bit scared off the idea of going thru Borneo on my own. Seeing you supporting each other all the way and the crazy roads there, hmm not sure what to do.
Looking forward to your next videos!
Hi mate I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying the videos and I'd say it's definitely a great idea to explore Indonesia it's such a diverse country and there is alot to see and do.
Please don't be put off Borneo we decided to take those tracks and there was other options on paved roads.
Loving the series so far, a little concerned you haven't uploaded in over 9 months, hope everything is okay. Would be great if you could reply with an update so I (we) know what's going on with the trip. Stay safe !!
Hi mate, thanks for the message it really keeps us inspired to carry on and we love feedback.
Good news is we made it and there should be a new video (Malaysia) coming out this week.
@@Northandleftabit awesome can't wait, I have notifications turned on so I won't miss it, looking forward to it !!
Where are you guys now??.. are you coming to peninsular Malaysia?
halo, i am from java😁🙏, indonesia
Bought a bike in Java and the guy told me one thing: If you get involved in a accident try to run away asap because they will always blame the foreigner no matter what
Yeah that's what we heard too but given someone was hurt I couldn't bring myself to do a runner. Luckily we had locals around who were willing and able to help us as they saw what happened. I'd hate to have ridden off and never know what happened to the poor girl as she was just an innocent passenger
@@Northandleftabit you have a heart for her even though it was not your fault and staying at the accident could have got you in big problems
2:49 Indonesian local wisdom😄😅
Great. Who said romance is dead?
Haha, that boat probably would have been better suited to our girlfriends but oh well
Not sure I’m understanding about the accident. If it was their fault and it sounds like it was, why did you pay for their hospital bill and motorcycle? That makes no sense whatsoever. You were not even partially at fault. Unless, you voluntarily paid?
Abit of both. Our bikes was held by the police until an agreement was made and my visa was about to run out. The police said I could take it to court and I'd win but it would take a few weeks at least. Given the timeframe we were on it wasn't worth the stress and time, the main thing for me was everyone was OK and the trip can continue. It was frustrating but could have been alot worse and the money was for the girls medical bills not the rider and his bike.
So what video editing software do you use? Adobe?
+Mark Rutherford - Mostly Adobe Premiere. With a little Adobe After Effects thrown in too.
Have you guys stopped making these videos? Maybe abandoned the plan to reach London?
Next video?
So what happened? Where are you guys? I just found your channel.
Plus a video on your riding gear would be awesome 😀
Hi Alan,
Well you're in luck our next video is out this week. It got too hard editing on the road, the good news is we did make it to the UK. just....
@@Northandleftabit Great to know that you reached the UK. will you ever upload the rest of the footage?
How much?
Why did you guys stop
Unfortunately work got in the way of editing for a while! But the next episode should be out any day now
@@Northandleftabit are you guys finished the trip now?
You need video evidence and give the video to the police they will help you to negotiate with the victim you cant just say to the victim and police it's not my fault without evidence, there actually insurance if the victim have driving license..
This is why big bike community in Indonesia like Harley or sport bike always have a GoPro recording..
You stuck because of the google map. Don't trust 100% to the google map, be wise always asking to the local where's the best way. Asking and always asking
MOST OF THEM DONT HAVE DRIVER LICENCE & DONT KNOW THE RULE, THEY THINK THE ROAD BELONG TO THEM ONLY & NOBODY ELSE, SOMETIMES THEY STRUCK BY BUS OR CAR & DEATH ON THE SPOT THATS VERY COMMON IN INDONESIA & THEY GET COMPENSATION FROM MOTOR VEHICLE TAX. AROUND 25 MIO RUPIAH WHEN THEY DIE
