Just shows you how beautiful the canals are in the uk. So much history and a lot cleaner now thanks to channels like this.
Thankyou, you could probably see the difference between starting in the country and finishing in the towns
Drasticg massively. I suppose the more deprived areas are where you get the biggest loot. I do a lot of canal walking and its beautiful where i go and have seen the odd magnet fisher near the rural bridges. Its crazy to see how much crime is hidden beneath these waters.

Great tour! Living in New England , Rhode Island and Massachusetts we have so many towns named after the town or village the English people left behind? Ashton, RI is a very old mill town located on a river and there are many remaining factories and mills that once produced fabric, lace and other textiles. Naming the new town did show though the people never forgot there English roots. How brave they were to make such big changes . My grandmothers mother and father were from Nottingham . Great video.

Now that was a great video. I love cycling and that canal looks fab for a towpath ride wish I had joined you for that one. Only been on the canal for a short distance on the kayak so far this year I'm sure the bike will be used but carrying my magnet too. Lovely scenery and the amazing bridges look inviting hope you visit a few soon . Few more videos like this would be brilliant really interesting well done my friend.. kev

Twas interesting to see all the gradients and locks in the canal system. A bike ride showed them better than a boat or google maps ever would.

@@drasticg Hi! I'm from Kentucky! USA. Love all things English! Your county is so beautiful, just love the canals, the history, the beautiful architecture, all of it!!! It is heartbreaking to see how some people treat the canals. I have tons of questions; but just wondering do the police ever patrol the canals? Some areas seem a little sketchy. You all do such an amazing job cleaning them. I live near the Ohio river and as soon as the weather warms up I'm getting a magnet and the one of my friends and I are going out "fishing"! How is your underwater magnet doing? When are you going out again? Can't wait to see your next video!!! Can you tell it's very boring here this time of year!!! Sorry to bother you, I'm just an addicted fan!😊

Love it mate, ride the same route a couple of times myself years ago shame about the bike being left where it was, Delph is a lovely place been going there myself since I was a kid as well trout fishing with my dad. If you fancy it in summer I'll show you how to catch trout on that river one fish every throw
Im an expert trout fisher myself mate 🤔 but im up for a spot of fishing for sure

There’s a good spot in between Ashton and dukinfield just of whitelands road. I’d recommend that spot as it’s easily assessable by people in cars who are looking to dump things

6:52 I think that's a drop tank that they used for fuel for fighter planes it would of been full of fuel and once they use it all up they drop them from the wings of the plane to save weight then they'll use their normal fuel tank for fighting

Great video mate. Grew up in Ashton and Stalybridge and great to see where I spent my childhood on the cut and river having a good time. Fun fact: The gates you see to the right at Portland Basin is where Richard Hilman kidnapped the Tyseley familyand drove his car into the canal for coronation street in 2003. Also where you turn left and went under the bridge near the large chimney soon after is possibly a good spot for fishing as the road is a dead end and secluded. Keep up the good work.
