Here i find stolen superbikes • magnet fishing motorbikes
So on my way to go magnet fishing scott hargood invited me to try bottle digging for the very first time, i was excited and of course said yes but i never expected to find so many cool old bottles and even bones.
I have no idea if the bones i found are human bones or animal bones but it was a wierd find.

100% agree mate
Mikey daniel I would rather my kids watch tv than dig up an old rubbish tip
Dave Bayliss
Well have fun with that
xXLil ObamaXx thanks 👍
Thank you for your kind comments about me means alot
I feel so humbled by your content. I have spent many hours with my father fishing/walking and have never really appreciated those times until now. We weren't an affluent family, but he gave me an appreciation of pastimes such as yours. You are an inspiration Mr. G... Also the family you are with!
Thankyou mate i love this message and hope you dont mind me posting it on my community feed
Old bottles look so cool, definitely keepers

Woah I’ve never seen snakes in England. What area?
xXLil ObamaXx we are in Nottinghamshire but snakes are everywhere in the U.K.

Great to see kids out and about. Scott you should give up smoking mate!
That marble is rare color to find I will look in my book and see what it is worth.
Look forward to seeing the bottles all cleaned up! Great watch :) 👍🏻
No problem mate
Thanks for giving me something to watch on this boring Sunday man 👍👍
No probs mate and hope your sunday gets better
I love old bottles!! I found a gallon brown bottle with a screw lid. Possibly an old Clorox bottle but not sure. No chips or cracks. My mom has a huge collection of old bottles that my dad dug out of fill dirt.
Oh amazing its good to keep history
at 12:16 I saw a coin! botoom right section of the screen. a great dig, Gareth!
Oh dam i need your eye sight lol
@@drasticg hehehe you could really do with a metal detector for these jobs
@@JohnDRobinsonelectronicdrums i have one mate but id need a van to carry everything i needed for all my hobbys lol
@@drasticg lol a man needs a hobby or three :D
Looks fun, love digging in old dumps
they look like old battery cells
Oh cool thanks
out of a pp9 battery
Lovely to see a family out enjoying the land!
Sure is zoe
@@drasticg what will you do with the bottles? Also who even knew bottle digging was a pastime? Looks fun though!!
@@zedjay81 no idea what i will do, any suggestions
@@drasticg now I would clean them up and polish them up.. I'm sure lids could be made or purchased and I would repurpose them with oils and spices in them.. lol that's just me though, you could see if they're worth anything.. they look quite old.
The red thing looks like a light of a vintage schwinn 1960 American bike well done mate great video
I thought so to
2:00 are the cells of a battery, similar to a 9 Volt block battery.
Nice to have the children participate.
Cheers pal ans yes its good to see scott and the kids having fun
The black oblong things (like slate) are battery cells from old pp3 and pp9 batteries. Well done.
At 20;02 those square black things are segments from old Battries, 9 v and 14 v segments, there were several of them stackeed on top of each other then terminals added to connect the cables to.
Thanks for the info mate
Cheers pal I really enjoyed this video 😎💯 bottle digging looks fun! Iv has a few old bottles myself in the past.. milk bottles, old lucozade bottles, medicine bottles ....old barn finds .... and they all seem to sell on eBay too 😉👍🏻 cheers bro and big respect 😎🇬🇧💪🏻
Watch out for old bottles that are closed. It could be something corrosive someone carelessly threw away. Great video as always!
Thankyou
What a great adventure for the boys. Both big n little😉
Thankyou so much
Wow, I never realised you'd been here lol.
This is the bottle dump I showed Scott.
My wife's mom told us about it years ago.
Peaky dippers has moved on from there now as we have about four victorian tips we dig,the tip where you was ,was 1940/50s.
The bones are animal bones that were butchered in the day,if your lucky you find the skulls which go for good money.
hi mate hope you and the family are well and thankyou for the information about the spot mate
@@drasticg No problem Gareth.
Hope to see you soon
Great video ...it's like Time Team with Drasticg
Lol thanks
Quality mate! Some nice little finds there 👍 - *Dave Liverpool* ✌
Cheers dave
Hi Gareth, I've done bottle digging a few times over the years, it's like the dry land version of magnet fishing!
First thing I would advise is to wear thick gloves.
Unless you know your area, you usually have to do a bit of research to find the best areas, you can use the 'side by side' maps app to see old maps of an area & compare it to now so you can find where old dumps, tips & landfill sites have been, the older the better, the most interesting sites would be pre war & Victorian era, where you might find embossed bottles, stoneware pots, Codd bottles etc.
Those you were finding looked like 1950s /60s era, those flat black things are the inside of old 9 volt batteries & that red cone shape item was an old Every ready rear cycle light.
Another thing, if you find a good area to dig, don't give out the exact location, otherwise everyone else will go there & clear it out!
Thanks for the all this amazing info mate it really helps
I know that hospitals used to bury the amputated arms or legs in the grounds of the hospital not sure if they are all human but some of them look like the might be
Wow
Excellent video, nice to see something so refreshing. Excellent finds Gareth..
Thanks caroline
Cheers for the feature again. Hope we meet again sometime
Cheers buddy and will have to meet up again when im back in the area
@@drasticg I'll look forward to that 👍
Landfills now thats recycling love it
You guys have some pretty interesting places to explore.
Thanks mate
Watching this now with the wife, love your vids mate keep them up
Cheers pal hope you both are having a great night
You guys seemed like you had such a good time!! What were those little rectangle coin like things? Scary bones! They looked like animal bones to me but Im no expert. Great video everyone!!!!
Ive been told they where from an old 9v battery
Cant believe you bottled it g lol
Ha ha
This looks like fun, Man you could be there all day
I know mate i could spend many a day doing it
Plot twist the place they were digging is an old unmarked Graveyard 👻
Hope not
Some awesome finds coming out enjoyed watching thanks for sharing
What a day it was m8 your welcome to join us anytime
Cheers pal your to kind
Anything for a brother
Great to see a different kind of video! Would be nice to see some metal detecting.
Thats coming over the summer mate
Great Video!!
The 2oz bottle near the end that had the raised lines would prob be a poisonous bottle. The raised lines or lumps were put on bottles for the visually impaired so they new it had something poisonous in it an not to drink it!
Oh cool thanks for letting me know mate its really interesting
Now that looks like an old battery stack, they would have been encased in card board.
No way lol thanks pal
That's what I think as well
Yeah makes sense. Very old though if that's what they are.
Going with this as well, as soon as I saw them 'that's batteries' :)
They are old battery stacks from valve radios. Each segment was 1.5 volts and would be stacked up to give 9v or 20v, depending on what they were used for. Probably from the 50s.
Great video! Smashing to hear all the different accents!!
Thanks
Lol get used to bones when you bottle dig we found loads you should have seen the big jaw bones with the teeth in that we found bottle digging proper freaky 😱 😬
Hope it wasnt human
Drasticg lol we don’t think it was human we dug up that many bones dad thinks it was a dead horse 😬
Im surprised everything isn't broken the way you all go at it with the picks and shovels. (especially the youngest boy, lol)
@drasticg you should try Loughborough magnet fishing near the boat Inn Loughborough trust me lots of junk
Ok thanks pal
great video some great finds
Thanks pal
Nice hunt 2:14 is old batteries I found a few before
Cheers pal
Nice job mate, always nice to do something a bit different.
The bones will be from the hospital kitchens surely and from cattle.
I remember doing a bit of old tip digging when i was a young lad, found a load of old pocket watches once.
Oh cool thanks for letting me know
Another good video mate keep up the good work
Cheers pal
9 volt batteries when stacked
Cheers pal
I really hope those bones aren't human. How would you know without getting them tested? Looking through the history might help solve some of the mystery.
Im not sure
Hey y'all. Fun bottle hunting.
I agree. That red conical thing around the 8 minute marker *looks like* a bike light generator that may hook up to a tire via a cable or directly via a clamp and wheel. Kewl.
What a death pit! :-)
Annyhow... some really interesting small bottles y'all uncovered. Very nice. Marbles are always fun to find as well. They come in so many shapes, designs and colors schemes.
Thankyou and hope you have a goid day
@@drasticg You too Gareth.
Good bottle finds
Cheers pal
Bones are probably beef.
One for sure cut on a saw!
Mahjong? Cute partners you got there!
Can someone explain it to me? why are there many bottles buried at that particular spot?
I presume years ago they just buried them

great finds!!!! The weird looking things at 2:02 are old batterys i believe! Are you in scotland in that video or does the dad just have a scottish accent?
Scott has a scotish accent mate
Your friend teach his kids digging.. A bounding moment of a father n Son's very nice playing with family time..coz quarantine stay your place far from place of a dangerous diseases(corona)...no schools so time to be with his father... Searching of what or farm give a good closeness to each other....coz corona s look same of zombies walk around but n a real we cannot c the epidemic...

Useless with the iron scattered all over
Good idea
You're not allowed to metal detect in most places unfortunately...but then I guess you aren't going to get caught
@@beware_the_moose with land owners permission we csn detect
@@beware_the_moose I metal detect any forests I see
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👌
what is the point in digging for bottles? I can understand magnet fishing as you are making the canals and rivers nicer and you can restore and or sell the scrap metal... Do they sell the bottles? I wouldn't have thought bottles were that sort after? Not trying to be rude it's a genuine question. Also like someone else said it's really nice to see the lads outside rather than in front of tellys or computers
my boyfriend just informed me that some old bottles can be quite expensive
Hi mate ive never done it before so i wanted to try it and i like the different shapes of old bottkes
It’s history finding bottles with writing on them
