"The Element 4 + HD600 = The Rock, the midpoint of everything." Great quote, great idea & great advice to anyone just learning or expert level in audio. Well said & thanks.
The DAC chip info I found off a comment on ASR. It still uses the ES9018K2M DAC chip introduced in 2013. "We explored ES9038Q2M and revisited AKM DACs early in the project and found that our tightly tuned 9018K2M performs every bit as well at lower cost."
38:00 You can 100% disable the "weird" on the Fiio K19... so they give you bad info. You can literally go into the menu directly on the unit and EQ is the first option. You have a bunch of presets and 'custom' options that you can rename with the app and fly between them. I have custom presets for all my headphones programmed into mine. The only thing you cannot do is program the custom EQ on the device itself, like the RME. But once it is saved, you can switch between them on the device, unlike the Element IV. You can save a bunch of presets on the Element IV web app and just quickly switch between them.
I think there might be something wrong with the microphone, I keep getting some sort of distortion/weird resonance in the right channel every video. At first I just thought it was my gear but I've narrowed it down to the audio in these videos.
Its the Gimbal that is doing the motion smoothing. Interacting with the resonance from my voice. You don't hear it on speakers. Just sensitive headphones that are loud.
Sup zeos, i reckon you should review some popular pc speakers from gaming companies even, for fun to compare them. Logitech, creative pebbles, etc. I want to hear what you think of these options as youve never heard true non music based desktop speakers, whethet you like em, or poo on them

I feel weird saying this but having advanced EQ config on a dac that requires a PC seems like a lot of effort for basically no real return. People that want this level of EQ will be doing it in their media app of choice, or via the various EQ apps you can get on PC. For the price and as an entry point into EQing, it's a fantastic value. But it's kind of wild to see them invest so much effort into software instead of really iterating on the hardware. They could have added more ins and outs or something to really pump the value up IMO.
Its weird because its a Hardware DSP. Which is different then just some software doing it. I can't explain it. But I have not EQ'd something and been happy with the results like this.
I find myself watching another Z Review which has me ready to empty my wallet... again. I still miss my beloved Emotiva Control Freak. The TC Electronic Level Pilot X has been a barely acceptable substitute, but this Element 4 looks most intriguing. I'm not a headphones guy, so can't jump on the bandwagon until this thing gets TRS outs for my speakers (Adam A7V). I'd love to be able to dump my dac and Pilot X in favor of something like this beautiful dac/big knob beast someday.
Interesting, I was thinking of getting an Aune S9c Pro for the same price. I guess with the Element IV you're getting EQ built in but you have no balanced output. I'm guessing JDS Labs will keep up with the drivers my Audio Gd is useless since I bricked it trying to get it to work on the Windows 11 work laptop.

The coffee is strong with this one.
Does anyone else read it as JD Slabs? I cant unsee it.
I didn't.. and now I do.. FFFFFFFFFFFFF
They do make some excellent slabs, tbh.
You get 10 Slabs of Beef Ribs with every Element IV purchase

Optional 4.4mm HP output is such a nice quality of life improvement. Got mine equipped with one :) great amp, great DAC.
Jelly
Can you get both... or just choose one or the other?

They must have added it. I need to up the firmware. When I asked them direct at a show they were not sure.
@ZReviews Are the SR7000 (that you mentioned) and Aeon Noire X reviews coming soon? Could you say something on the timing of those? Thx!
Zeos do you have any recommendations for speakers that fit on a desk to use with a computer? What about components to support that computer speaker?
The Emotiva Control Freak is the knob god of the audio world. Too bad it's discontinued.
That is what I want to make as a Collab. It needs to come back but Better.
Looks nice!! Did they manage to incorporate a way to adjust left and right balance in their software?

Id need to setup a donation box in my driveway.
Nice review Z. What kind of DAC is in this Element IV? If i needed an AIO I'd probably get this, especially with the engraving
Ya know. I don't know. Feel like I should have that knowledge
@@ZE0SPantera I tried to find out on their website... but nothing. 🤷🏻

YES! Been waiting for this review!
Zeos, just a random question, are you going to Munich this year?
Speakers please
I mean. We just had a ton of speaker reviews

Who brought you this cheeyot? 👽
I got the JDS labs II, should I upgrade? Anyone got comments? My is bugging out so thinking of buying something else
Do you need more power? Do you need EQ? If not, there's no need.

Your cam angle is abit low in this video.
Yeah It was the first review in a while. I forgot the feel of it
Switch on back. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
But you can't tuck this under a thing anyway. So its a BIT better.
Good thing I didn't buy the 3rd version. I almost did a few months back.
HD 6XX IS TRASH IMO. my reffrence to any headphones is the argon t60rp.
