This is a piece of french music history.
Bizarre and fascinating.
Kooky.
elon approves of that
This is a piece of world music history.... Better!
And world music history
Piece of music history*
Daft punk is definitely my comfort artist, their music never fails to make me feel good no matter my mood
Same here, brother...
You right!
Same here.. their music feels like home 😊
Same... Big Love..✨🙌🏻✨
I’ve used their songs as my alarm clock for work. It’s probably one of my biggest regrets of my life
Nostalgia
Big chungus
Lyric video mainstream normie thing music channel among us
Michel Gondry is a genius. He almost mixes stop motion concepts with choreography and animates human movement in different time scales. Love it!
It’s crazy seeing how many small details were put into making that music video. Daft Punk forever!
My video clip in mexico has just been released the family 🇲🇽🎥I sing rap in English and French trap I need your opinion🙏🏼🇺🇸💽
Michel Gondry forever!
It was pretty amazing huh?
you understand that they are geniuses when you see that they have made one of the greatest music just by repeating the same sentence 144 times
Technically, they did it twice if you count “call me”
I can't believe you actually counted them all!!!!!!
@@aktchungrabanio6467 xD
You need that if you wanna get your music around the world
Well, they did more than just repeat a line. But it is remarkable.
I didn't know they recorded the choreo in half speed and sped it up in post! Brilliant!
que lindo
Genial demais!!

We saw daft punk make history
Now we're seeing the making of history of daft punk
I like how Daft Punk just became an archive channel of the prime time of their lives
pun intended?
@@Catbattle mabye, but if it is, it could make everyone happy "around the world".

@@thblu213 What's wrong? Are you "burnin" up?
That's what robots tend to do.
All the people involved in the making of this amazing videoclip are more than legends, they are gods. Absolutely outstanding job.
🎉
The fact that they put those vids a year after they announced "the end" makes me feel that daft punk sort of misses making music but they put them here to show they know that actually WE miss them and want to make us smile and remind us that they are not gone (but its just my reflection). You are not gone to us Daft punk.
You will always live in our hearts forever.
You will never be forgotten.
We all know it.
One More Time.
Yeah Daft Punk have split up. But T Bangalter and Guy Manuel are still alive, it’s still a possibility they’re working on solo projects.
@@Shmynkellbonkenstein From what I heard Thomas Bangelter have hearing damage in 2015, they planned to actually appeared in The Weeknd concert but because of health reason it was cancelled.
I still don't know if it was really what happens or not but the hearing damage was real from what I got in my research.
@@unknownguyindo4356 damn that sucks especially as a musician. Even as someone who plays as an amateur I’d hate to damage my hearing, can’t imagine how it would affect a professional
I just hope for a DVD or online release of all these kinds of ancient archive footage it'd be amazing to watch these unseen footage
I remember this vividly. The first music video I saw in MTV. Was witnessing history in the making and never knew it!
I'm 28 years old and this is the oldest music video I could remember watching ! I remember watching it when I was about 5 years old
Yessss i was a little kid when i saw it on mtv, it fascinated me and it stuck in my mind forever!!!
Always a good day when daft punk uploads
True
Yes man. 100%right! Daft punk always cool😁✊🏽🎧🎹🎶💪🏽😎
True .
Si.
Agreed!
So, I just watched this video the first time, and right after the finished version of the music video....F****** speechless! This is insane. The perfection in choreography is sth I have never seen before! Absolute masters of their field!
Its says that in the description
Equisde
im glad daft punk is turning their youtube channel into a museum.
It's so cool because it looks like everyone is having fun
Yes
They must've hated the song by the end of this
Daft Punk has already done all this musical preparation with this choreography, all this just on their debut album, that's what makes me even more surprised. Daft Punk is really unique
Love from 🇧🇷
I remember walking around my University campus with this track on repeat in my CD player (yes, CD PLAYER) because I’m old lol). In fact this is still one of my all time favorite tracks and introduced me to the wonderful world of French House…
I just really wish I could have got a chance to see them live, would have been amazing I'm sure
sorry to say that, it was behind amazing at that time
@@4r1ga70u-irl I bet! I envy you friend 😭
I think they'll come back... I need to repeat that to live sane (:(
@@weezeringo I'll flip if they did and try DESPERATELY to see them live
@Rodrigo Barraza Damn...sorry to hear that ;/
The way this Making Of video is edited is quite smart. Small, quick clips with no narration. The only context you need is the original music video and from there you can piece the story of just how hard everyone worked for this.
On the other hand, what could be said in the narration. So we started with these mummys, then someone thought some guys in spacesuits might work especially if we get them all walking in circles lol
Back when music videos were actually banging. Phenomenal work Daft Punk, this ones timeless.
I wish I was able to be there for one more concert in person. Me and my brother are huge fans 🙏🏻🥺
ME ENCANTÓ DESDE LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE LO VÍ PORQUE ADEMÁS, LA COREOGRAFÍA ES IMPECABLE!!!
I marvel at how much complexity this Making Of has, while we have a music video so simple.
Just Perfect.
The music video, the song itself and the choreography is amazing.
Well done Daft Punk and the creators of this music video
YESSS! Another one! 🎉✨
As an aspiring music video director im extremely grateful you guys uploaded this its great to see the bts of one of my favorite mv
ahh mcm
4:30 the cameraman definitely knew what he was doing
😍😂
What an amazing video... Michel Gondry the best director ever!!!!!
i deeply appreciate Daft Punk for existing, even if they've basically split at this point
It's incredible how much time and effort went into this one music video! Fantastic ❤
This is a video how legends were creating beautiful music with long history
You got to wonder if all the dancers in this video had any idea they were taking part in something that became truly iconic
Thanks to Daft Punk and Michel Gondry for showing us the Making Of “Around The World” 25 years later.
It’s quarter century of this song.
Happy 25th anniversary
yay it’s up!! beautiful piece of history
This is real art! Also nice to see the people behind the scenes. They go unnoticed but are a big part of the result. Thanks everyone for creating this. I loved it back then and I still love it now.
As an exchange student to France in 1996-97, I'd watch Canal + early in the morning with my Nutella and bread breakfast. On that small tv in the kitchen, this video would come on every morning. It was my soundtrack of France. So cool to see all the people who made it happen. Daft Punk Forever!
Thank you so much for showing the behind the scenes, this was my life growing up.
I wonder the pure amount of time went into just the music video.....seems like an eternity with all the practical fx vs digital. Thank you for a glimpse into the bts.
I can’t believe the round floor is painted like to look like a vinyl. I’ve never noticed that detail in the video.
!!
I don't know what is going on rn but I was listening to this song on a 1 hour loop high asf yesterday hoping something beautiful was about to happen in my life so thank you
Imagine having to listen to the slow down version every day during weeks and weeks and dance on it 😃 amazing job!
Juste incroyable!
I just find the robots so cute. Really reminds me of daft punk. They are their voices after all.
Merci
It' really stunning how much work they put into this short video. Was it really worth it? Well, if you see the result, you can only say: Yes, absolutely.
I love the making of!! This was absolutely amazing! The light, the choreography, the costumes, the design of the platform... All was so well designed and well done! You're the best!!
Gracias daft punk, mercy beaucoup pour les memories, thank you for the beautiful moments.
Une œuvre d’art, l’art lui-même
With the dozens, if not hundreds of times I've watched this music video, I've never paid much attention to the background lighting.
...and the one squirrely light that didn't quite work right. It adds a nice charm.
I can't believe this video is only 5 mins long. Every detail, effort, and enthusiasm in this video made me watch each seconds carefully.
Nice! Finally after years of wondering!!! Thank you robot men!
I LOVE DAFT PUNK!!!
I remember that it was totally mind blowing for me when I realize that every kind of dencers are representing a different instrument part and this all corresponds to arrangement - pure masterpiece!!!
It was exactly as I expected. Daft Punk were so talented and their music videos were all quite unique, so for sure they would have been a fun, but total hell, to make. So many details. So many nuances.
This is a fantastic upload. Thank you.
Love Daft Punk ❤️
Imagine showing the music video and telling your friends the shortest mummy is my mom.
And YES she is
That's neat!!!
It’s amazing how the whole thing is put together with so many different people. It’s art in itself how people can even get together to know what going on enough to create the final video
My fav video when I was a kid. I remembered playing this on the dvd player. Mesmerized by the repetitive dance and the music, got hooked quickly.
I've never been so happy🥰🥰🥰
I had a hard day today, but I got rid of my fatigue all at once🫶✨
Homework 25th Anniversary Celebration Still Continues🎉
Anyone else find this hella interesting to see how these music videos were originally made and how they came up with these ideas?
Michel Gondry is the director, its an idea he had since his youth i saw somewhere. Look him up if you like this 'professionally-home-made' style.
I was watching this music video on my dad's laptop when my niece was born. I'll always associate this song with that moment.
I once read that in this video, the artists represent the hythm of an instrument in the song. Each group (skeletons, swimmers, mummies etc) represent an instrument. It changed the way I see this video clip
Nice! I hope they upload more Behind The Scenes soon. Specifically Discovery & Alive 2007.
Probably for their anniversary, the reason is they uploaded this because it was homework's anniversary.
Classic
My day is better when Daft punk uploads
So amazing, all the hard work from the dancers, director, producers, EVERYONE INVOLVED THANK YOU !! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Imagine the satisfaction that the performers, producers and everyone else involved felt when they finally got to sit down and watch the finished music video
Oui
Man I love daft punk I was listening to them when I was 1 or 2 idk but still young. ❤❤
It’s awesome to see that they were pixel mapping the background light wall before pixel mapping was a thing that could be done relatively easy.
I haven't watched the DAFT DVD in years! Thanks for this!
One of my favourite music videos. I love seeing how it was made. Thanks, Daft Punk!
Les légendes ne meurent jamais
I WISH THAT WE COULD GET ANOTHER BACKSTAGE OR OTHER VIDEOS FOR THEIR OTHER ALBUMS TOO PLEASE
Maybe in 2026 when there will be Discovery 25th Anniversary, we'll get some Interstella 5555 behind the scenes stuff.
depends on if there is footage of it
Incredible. Had no idea how much went into this!!! PLEASE keep releasing more archival footage/behind the scenes stuff!! ❤
Obviously any music video is a big ordeal to handle. But for as simple and flowing and entertaining Around the World is. Admittedly, I never thought of it as too big.
But then I watch the music video again, and everyone is insynch with each other.
Bravo everyone who was a part of it.
Quién diría que una canción tan simple como around the world tenía tanto trabajo por detras
My fav band sad that they won't be making music albums anymore
I remember watching this on the D.A.F.T. DVD as a kid. Glad to see it added on UA-cam.
This is awesome. I've always wanted to see the behind the scenes of how this video was created. It's no surprise it took so much planning, coordinating, and practice to piece it all together into a brilliant music video that's just as much a treat to watch as it is to listen to. Bravo to everyone involved from beginning to end.
Quantas pessoas estavam envolvidas diretamente na produção do videoclipe ????
Quantos dias levaram a filmagem deste Videoclip ???
O resultado pra mim é fantástico !!!
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷Amo muito Daft Punk !!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
Como deu trabalho! Cheio de detalhes! É para valorizar cada profissional!!! ❤️❤️
This is actually historically generation defining footage right here
It’s insanity to witness how much it went into just repeating two words
Thank you for the amazing and relentless effort to make your music
Not gonna lie this is a masterpiece
J'adore ♡
I used to listen to this on 10 hr repeat and annoy the hell out of my sister. Refreshing to see how the bizarre video came to be
That is an incredible standard of artistry on all levels. Should be an inspiration for everyone to begin in thought first. Thought and remembering. And then execution. Beautiful!
Increíble equipo!! Genios
CARAJO QUE HERMOSO ME ENCANTARIA QUE VOLVIERAN LOS 2 Y HAGAN UN TOUR PORQUE LOS EXTRAÑO MUCHO :(
Finally , i have seen a lower rez version years ago without translations . I feel amazing now , thanks daft punk team
masterpiece… almost nothing beats a good “behind the scenes” feature. great work
