I'm rather sure the person on the cover can't be Telemann -- who is it then, the soloist? Choosing a photo like this for an album of classical music does seem a bit silly
Bosgraaf is often photographed in unusual attires and odd situations. So this is not out of character for him. What is odd to me is that this boy on the table appears to have hairy legs and a hairy chest. That is definitely out of the box.
By paying too much attention to speed, less focus was given to bringing out the emotional beauty of this music. Virtuosity is not all about technique, it implies also TASTE and FEELING for the music being interpreted.
I agree. In a lot of instances, it was like a race to reach to the end of the pieces. Who would reach the end of the pieces first, the orchestra or the soloist. Of course, very few people can play the recorder that fast... 😉 p.s. I think I will give up learning to play the recorder... 🕊️ It is telling that, presently, there are only a little more than 72 thousand views of the video since 2016.
This is the problem also with HIP orchestra's doing Bach. Everything has to be high-paced and dance. It's crazy. I like Dorothee Orberinger's Telemann. Seems to have the tempo right at least.
Telemann never ceases to surprise. His melodic inventions are fantastic, unpredictable, beautiful
This is a great gift to Telemann music lovers
Bravo Erik!Brilliant!
A Blockbuster! And that "Ouverture Suite in A Minor, III. Air à l’Italien" has ALWAYS been to die for!
Wunderschöne Musik, fantastisch gesielt!
I’ve been a Telemann/recorder fan for decades but never heard this wonderful E-flat major suite. Loved it-thanks!
Thanks for this. A great way to start a Saturday morning. Beautiful.
Wow. Whole album. Wow. Amazing quality of playing the whole way through.
Telemann and the Recorder are twins. It is here that he reaches out to everyone
Vibrant, uplifting and amazing. Eric is the Paganini of the recorder.
An amazing composer.
Very very very good!! Thanks!!
Maravilhoso!!! Obrigada por postar.
refallen in love with Telemann
Bravo bravo bravo brilliance music

¡Ella Es danesa, no italiana! 🤦🏻♂️
Mooi ,zeg.Beautifully played
Very nice! I love it
Beautiful! Thank you
Mi autor favorito,,,, del barroco,,, me encanta
Thank you very much!
Never knew recorder could sound so metal in the Rejouissance track.
Formidable !
And the A-minor is a thrill-ride!!🏍🎢⛷
Splendide
Telemann was great...
Beautiful!
La meilleure musique au monde !
¡Qué lindo! 🤗
Bach, Handel and Mozart get a lot of attention. I think Telemann is sometimes overlooked.
what does the kid from the cover have to do with the music?

I assumed it is Erik himself as a child
I actually think it is brilliant... you should be more open minded... just a bit more "dutch", like Erik :o)

I agree, weird picture, the "boy" looks like a satyr. It's photoshopped. The music is great though.

hi Brilliant Classics. Is this selection available with only the accompaniments for solo recorder?
Dear Ronaldo, unfortunately it is not available.

Thanks for the reference! 👍
I will check that!
chào buổi sáng an lành
hey ya
I read that his sister was also an accomplished composer
Really? I have been working in the Telemanncenter in Magdeburg, I never heard but I am very keen to know!
¿in the first 10 minutes its a soprano recorder?
yes
Fantástica versión , pero horrible portada ...
wtf is that cover
Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
way too fast. 0.75 speed sounds just right. Never a good idea, if artists simply want to show off.
Wonderful music, but such a disturbing album cover!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful!!!
