Listened to Telemann for many years. There seems to be NO story or allegorical content in most of his music - a huge majority. It's simply good, enjoyable music. It doesn't make you think about God, mortality, rainy days, happy times, your puppy - nothing. It's uncanny. It doesn't relate to anything - except music. I like much of it a lot. I understand many people who do not.
A big thank you to Brilliant Classics for bring a smattering of the huge output of Telemann to all of us who appreciate the works composed in the Barok period. Tafel musik and the Hamburger Ebb und Flut are especially among my favorites.
Error in the documentation: Chalumeau is a predecessor of clarinet, a single reed instrument, not of bassoon! Yeah, a great piece the Ouverture; actually Telemann also wrote a concerto for 2 clarinets & orchestra, a fun piece to perform and one of the earliest clarinet compositions! Obviously Telemann was familiar with the clarinet.
He was one of the giants of the baroque music 🎶. Bach chose him to be the godfather of Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach. I would do that. Sadly Mr Teleman is on most underrated composers of all time.
I love Telemann. Except for the famous works for viola and a handful of others, his music has been ignored for too long, in part because printed editions were less available. Now, however, performers are making the effort to transcribe public domain, online facsimiles of hand written or early published scores! I'm discovering a "new" gem every week!

The comfort of Telemann's music is exceptional, and particular, and stains in heart
I like your description, "the comfort of Telemann's music". Never thought of that myself, but his music is a comfort, isn't it? 😌

¡Precioso! Telemann es un gran compositor que merece mayor difusión.
We still have a long way to go, alas. This fits the flauto dolce so perfectly.
Georg Philipp Telemann ~ Yes sir! 🙂
Het begint met een swingende 18e eeuwer. Alles Pakkend, helder en mooi gespeeld .
Thank you again for allowing me to discover masterpieces after masterpieces!
Thank you so much. NB: chalumeau is not a pre-runner of bassoon, but of clarinett :-) (it is a one-reed instrument)
Every part sounds tuneful and uniquely original. Never boring or trite. He was a great composer.
He was; I love Telemann. These two musicians are exceptional, too, and express themselves so well.
Glück ist Telemann so wunderbar gespielt, hören zu dürfen,ja, freue mich, danke.
Bravo, Wonderful Music Forever !
One of my favorite composers.
Lovely music, a real treat. Don't usually hear much Telemann. Thanks!

"I would do that." Well, of course you would! Quite sensible. 😆
Such an interesting set of timbres!
Wow, this is beautiful music. For some reason I never gave Telemann much credit, but the pieces of his you have posted here are really enjoyable.
