It is such a valuable search for me to go over the videos you have made over the years. At 53 years old and playing guitar my whole life however not being as good as I should be your videos have become a extremely valuable source of my learning
Agreed! He is one of the very few UA-cam teachers that make sense to me. Maybe cause he dumbs it down a lot, I dunno, but I've learned more from this guy in 6 months than I did the previous 4 years.
Same here Brother, I was googling Metal versions of Simple Man and saw this looking at a Simple Man solo lesson and my family would Love to hear me Jam this too
You need to listen to a Gibson Dove or a Taylor ....I will tell you this if your going to get a acoustic buy the best you can but electric guitars you don't need a brand name that's going to brake the bank...Technology has came so far you can change pickups. For example Fender Strat but alot of plp including my self like the fender squir made in Mexico...I think Mexican Fenders are better cause all you haft to do is change the pickups ,that is optional but if so you can have a American Strat for a few hundred bucks than a 1000 dollar American Strat...Cheers bro 🤘💯
Hi Carl, great lesson....a lot of us are solo players, so it's really cool to have a tutorial that combines chords with some of the "signature" lead lines....an acoustic intro for Freebird would be brilliant!
Favorite band of all time. I learned this from a guitar world magazine back in 2009. Note for note but still watching to see if there is a little quirk you can show me. Thanks Carl.
Curious why the G is looked at as being borrowed from the key of A minor and not D in the piano solo progression? In the chorus it feels like V-IV-I in A and then I-V-IV in D when it goes back to the E instead of the G, so that is how I have approached. Because I see it as the IV chord from a borrowed key in the piano solo party when they are jamming I approach that one for a G Lydian perceptive.
When it comes to analyzing any chord’s function, you can always analyze it multiple ways on paper… the key to analyzing it is listening for the tonal center, that always gives you the proper way to analyze a chords function.. the tonal center of Tuesdays Gone is A from beginning to end so the G major chord needs to be analyzed with that is mind… probably a better and more stylistically appropriate way to analyze that G major chord is that is comes from G Mixolydian … but regardless, it needs to be analyzed as a bVII chord because of the tonal center of A… 👍
@@GuitarLessons365SongLessons ahhh okay that makes a lot of sense, I wasn’t really thinking about tonal center because I wasn’t resolving the chord but seeing as it is revolving around the A note that makes it the bVII, thanks for taking the time to reply!
Excellent Tutorial :) Most comprehensive great for a single guitar arrangement that can be built on for play in a 2-3 guitar band setting - Thanks a million
hey I don't know if u take request but I been trying to learn Matt Andersen's she comes down and i just can't get the sound right but I'm playing it without a cappo which u know their has gotta be a way to lol but great vid id love to see 1 on that Matt Andersen song its so good
Hey Carl, I don't know if you take requests, but I've been trying to learn the song Lost for Words by Pink Floyd, but I'm having no luck finding a decent video that does a semi-decent job of showing how to play it. I recently picked the guitar back up and have been learning new songs as much as possible. So far, thanks to your videos alone I've managed to learn Hey there Delilah, Goodbye Blue Sky, and Mother. I doubt you'll see this comment, but if you do I would much appreciate it!
I am a big southern rock fan. Would you do a video for the song "peace, love and dixie." Bye the Caddilac three. Or anything from them. Thanks P.s. keep up the great videos.
I just ran across this video. You do a great job of showing the layout and structure of the song. Has it ever crossed your mind that by capo-ing up two frets it would be a lot easier for the beginner-to-intermediate players to handle the chords, as you can eliminate the F#m barre. Now it becomes G, D, Em, C & F.
Learning this for my dad… thank you for this. Amazing song and tutorial.
Love you pops. 2/25/62 - 8/25/2020
You can do it...He will be looking down on you, Rock it out for him...🤘💯😇
