Waylon is by far my all time country singer. No one comes close to waylon. In a class all his own. My trucks license plate is the flying w. He's just all around the greatest. I miss him
I was a kid of the late 70's and 80's. "Dukes" was an EVERY week thing to me. I watched it every single time it was on. Every one of my friends wanted to be those Duke boys and we all had that normal crush on Daisy, sure enough. Seeing Waylon playing that old guitar as the show opened never clicked until I started going through my mom's old record collection. When I ran across his greatest hits record and made the connection between it, the man on the cover, and the show, it blew my 9 year old mind, She's raise the windows in our old house and put a record on the turn table sometimes, and sometimes it'd be THAT record, with those awesome old tunes flowing out of the windows for anybody in the neighborhood to hear. Even if they didn't want to...lol. I grew up with a love for GOOD country music, and even learned a thing or two from that old show, so I'd just like to say thanks to both Tom and Waylon for being part of the best years of my life. Happy Birthday up there, Waylon. We sure miss you down here.
Couldn't have said it better myself I was born in 78 an absolutely lived for the Dukes of Hazzard and I am a massive Waylon Jennings fan to this day he'll always be my favorite outlaw.🇺🇸❤️🤍 and he's a Gemini like me.
Tom I miss Waylon also, see he was my cousin. I was small sat on aunt Dessies couch, Waylon grandma and he would play his guitar to me. I miss him at family reunions at Littlefield Tx.
Im 42 and grew up on rock n roll but for the last 15 years my music pallet grew and now includes all sorts of country, blue grass, and outlaw music. Waylon is legendary and will be loved for a long time to come as folks discover him in their own time:)
Thanks for saying that, Tom. I never met him in real life, but his words and music were a surrogate father to me after my parents divorced when I was 11. He was one of the best things that ever happened on this planet. To say his music developed my mind and soul would be an understatement. Thanks for the memories.
And we also miss that Dukes cast.. I've had the honor of meeting several of them, good down to earth people.. sadly there's not many of them left now..
This was so heartfelt ❤️ I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazard!! Id be glued to my TV FROM START TO FINISH... and id imagine what it would be like to really like like they did... that voice that would narrate as they was midair had a way of grabbing your attention ❤

I loved the Dukes of Hazzard show it was a totally awesome show and Waylon Jennings is my favorite country music artist what a voice he had thank God for recordings !!!!!!!!!
Waylon Jennings is my all-time favorite music to listen to. I grew up on the Dukes of Hazzard. And my old man who just recently passed away was a big Waylon Jennings fan, and he told me about Waylon Jennings life as I would watch Dukes of Hazzard from touring with Buddy Holly and giving up his seat on the plane. Waylon Jennings music is the best ever and My Old Man thought the same
The show was the best I loved everything about it.. Waylon Jennings was one in a million I totally agree with Tom Wopat.. I loved the narration and the opening song by Waylon Jennings was brilliantly done...R.I.P.
Waylon was one of the first country singers I listened to. The Outlaws. I worked night crew in a grocery store. Transferred to a new store in 1976 and they would not let us play our radios over the store sound system. We had a choice of 2 stations, elevator music or country. We chose country. Waylon, Willie and the boys. And I've been listening to country ever since. I miss Waylon too. And all the rest of them that have gone to the big show. But Waylon and his friends left their music here. And I'm still listening and loving it.
Three good ole boys that had an impact on this good ole boy when he was just a youngin. Thanks, Tom, John, Waylon, and the whole crew. What a show. I can't hear Waylon on the radio and not remember myself at 5 years old, enamored by this beautiful orange machine giving Rosco a fit. Yeeeeehaw!
The Dukes of Hazard was something that was very very special to me. Still is always will be!!!! I enjoyed when it was time to run to the ol tube TV and watch the show with my Father in my living room or with my Grandfather at his home. No matter what those memories will always be in my heart. I love Waylon's music, his voice, his guitar playing, and many, many great songs. Besides watching Dukes as a kid, I found him later on in life and loved the rest of his music, as I always loved that first scene when the man would start playing his guitar.
I have loved Waylon since the 70's. Still by videos or DC's if chance of 1 new song. Love to hear that he was really the kind of man you hoped he was. R.I.P. Waylon!
