Love this movie, from the robers messing with the cops with a foreign language speach, to the plot twist. Love this movie.
Everyone was top of their game with this one
yeah, it's a good robbery movie
It was a fantastic movie, we should have had a sequel with this one.
But I see that you *are* the sort to repeat yourself, unlike Clive Owen's robber!
@@stephencombes1979there is actually
This is the only movie I’ve ever watched, then immediately watched again right after. I had to go back and see how everything connected.
The Prestige would be another one
@@dragospahontuthe Prestige was a bit disturbing for me
@@captainjacksparrow1518 me too
The hidden compartment twist is something I have thought about almost every time I’ve walked into any establishment with items of value to steal. I just always thought it was so brilliant.
It's still stupid. Why go through the trouble making an extra big compartment including an effing toilet to hide the loot AND the guy when you could just make a way smaller one, leave the loot there and retrieve it some weeks later?
Even when you've seen the ending and know all the twists, you can watch this movie over and over again. The characters, the acting, the dialogues, the production design, the music, the style, the atmosphere, and the mustaches. Nothing of that ever gets old. True masterpiece.
3:16 "the windows provide plenty of light and yet the lamps persist" cant wait til cinemasins discover the passage of time, and "The Night"
Dante's inferno rules cinemasins guy spends eternity in sunlit room filled with lamps & candles😵💫🫨🤯
Love this film. Sure it has flaws like every film does but the things it does well makes it easy to look past those things
Considering they sin anything, I wouldn’t take it personally. I concur, love this movie
Nah, it's pretty well made.
They’ve both “sinned” AND made a “everything RIGHT about” videos about the same movies before. Like you said, every movie has it’s flaws so every movie can be sinned.
Best part is in rewatching the movie where you see things in the first act that were joked about or hinted at, at the end. They did so many Chekhov's gun threads that pay off by the end, and you don't realize you are seeing them.
One of the best "slow burn" films of the last 40 years.
I love this movie but I'm a little bit surprised why Clive Oven didn't have a bigger career (he was successful but still he had potential for more)
I loved Shoot em Up.
Yeah, definitely deserved more memorable roles like this one, but he is worth 30 mill so i guess hes doing fine
For the people, watch the croupier
Clive Owen would have made an awesome Bond
@@robbo391 I agree, he actually was offered the role and turned it down. Same with Christian Bale.
„If a hostage taker ever offers to play a game with you, assume you already lost“🤣🤣😂😂😂💯
This is an awesome movie, with an excellent cast.
Sadly, they down't make movies like this anymore. At least not on this scale.
Yes they do have you seen 21 bridges
@@allenlavine1351 21 Bridges is amazing! And I would put it just below this for a great thriller movie! With a number of twists!
@@AkodoGarou I know I love movies with a twist if you know any good ones please share
This has to be in the top 3 of my favourite Spike Lee films of all time. Superb 👍
I'm not sure if it's a sin, or a sin removal, but at 13:56 Frazier giving the middle finger to the former Nazi, was cleverly done in a way that was both subtle and meant to give maximum impact.
You can't be a former Nazi
@@TheStormbringer8751 Touche...the hidden nazi.
He wasn’t a nazi. He just worked for them.

I literally watched this film last night. And you make a video on it today 😭
Speaking of the Negotiator, I'd love to see a cinemasins for one of sam Jackson's and (ugh) Spacey's best
“Fourth wall breakage.” I see what you did there.
One of the best Spike Lee movies that was damn near perfect. “Inside Man” is a testament of how to never assume anything until that facts have been known. I personally admire the pacing of this film and how it subverts the audience’s expectations without disappointment. 4.5 out of 5 ⭐️s!!!To me anyway 😁👍🏽
That’s why the sin count was so low and a lot of the sins were just for jokes.
I think I was 6 years old when I watched inside man for the first time with my grandpa and till this day we still watch it sometimes. I couldn’t understand the plot back then I just saw cops and robbers but as I grew older I know this was one of the best realistic heists someone could pull off
You make me feel so old.
"Most realistic" lmao
Blessed that gramps is still here!
4:17 - Fam, this movie takes place in either 2005 or 2006 - The Year of the *Kansas City Shuffle,* a playbook which this movie unintentionally borrows a few chapters out of.
*The Cloud* wasn't a thing in 2006 is what I'm getting at. 🤨😎
🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️🛎️ sins for your rambling incoherent babbling
This movie is a masterpiece
All i read before the video started sinning was the description about this movie being fantastic. Wholeheartly agreed, and liked the video before even watching it.
Thanks for finally doing a movie I care about again.
The bank footage thing is clearly a product of this movie being made in 2005.... the cloud much of a thing, USB thumb drives were tiny and putting things on dvd took... time?
Ding!
One of my favorite movies of all time a true classic
Y'all crack me up SO much! "Holy S___ back to back 'you better come look at this' cliches!!! A CinemaSins first, people!" You at CinemaSins make my life worth living!!! Kudos to you! And thanks for all your hard work...
Delicious irony if he repeated the same joke he used in a previous video
Thank you for this video. Been waiting for it for a long time.
I'm extremely mad that you didn't sin the police captain telling Denzel Washington to bury the case, like somehow holding several people hostage threatening their life, even falsey, is not enough of a crime to continue to pursue the case even after all the leads go nowhere.
3:09 At least in my experience, soda machines usually have more water than anything else. Presumably people buy water more than any individual kind of soda.
I've never seen that
And now I have no choice but to rewatch this movie after work today. Dammit, you did this to me and I missed this movie.
SO GLAD YOU DID THIS literaly tied for being my favorate movie
The 2000s movies were lit and fun to watch.
Gaedaemn right.
Bear in mind the timing of this movie after 9/11 shrouding the NYC setting
Cool timing I only watched this last week, cool watch and I like the song and the beginning
Most of the time I can guess the twist about 3/4 of the way through. This one kept me guessing the whole time. Great Movie.
It is something how you did a cinema sins on this and I’ve been watching this since STARZ brought it back. Nicely done
I really liked the movie overall, but a few aspects of the plot and the script were so ridiculously unbelievable that they pulled me out of it at several points. This video was a cathartic happy-medium for me.
A classic. All star cast an all. Very good movie Hollywood rarely does so well anymore. I miss it. That kinda WOULDA been a clever an near perfect robbery.
Spike isn't Hollywood
He's never been, never will
They never let him, being one of the reasons
You should do robin hood men in tights.
One of the few flicks left in my cinema sins wishlist, hell yeah!!!
Double Jeopardy (1999) would be great
A cinemasins video that isn't 45 min long? DING
Can’t believe you didn’t bring up the biggest sin being how would they know another well endowed woman would be in the bank? If there wasn’t, she would have been easily identifiable.
Not necessarily. In the painters suits it isn't so noticeable. Shuffling people around between the rooms served to make it so no one could really tell who was and was not just a customer in the bank. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I don't remember there being anything where any of the robbers were identified as female while any of the staff, customers, or police were around.
@@johngaltline9933 watch it again, they definitely make it clear one of them is a woman with a large chest. They just aren’t sure which one of those two it was, so they can’t charge either of them.
@@JRebels In the police interview the say that she matches the description of a robber, but they also say things to all of the other people suggesting they think they are one of the robbers. It's generic police interrogation where they claim to know things that they actually don't to try and get them to confess to something. They suggested they knew every one interviewed was involved.
@@JRebels This is just so stupid lol, people actually think this is a smart movie?
@@johngaltline9933 no a victim says specifically that one of the robbers had a large chest
Such a good movie. Rewatched it so many times!
'Picture them in their underwear.' Yeah, I remember that. And the Mary Tyler Moore show where Ted Baxter asks someone if they pictured everyone in their underwear, then says, 'I did.' as he looks at Mary Tyler Moore.
I never caught on to that big Willie and the twins line omfg xD
You could've also chosen "Shooter (2007)" since we have another Antoine Fuqua movie coming out but I appreciate it! Another more underrated movie is the Denzel Washington flick called "Out of Time (2003)". Who knows when you'll get to that movie on the Sin Counter?
One of my favorites of all time 🔥❤️
I'm very embarrassed that I have never heard of this movie. Will definitely watch it.
This movie and Man on Fire are both excellent Denzel movies made within 2 years of each other. I recommend u watch Man on Fire!
@@renehernandez4797adding it to the backlist as well. My favourite Denzel movies are Flight, Training Day and Malcolm X
This one never seemed to get much press, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
At the time Spike was known more for his eccentric type of movies, so I wasn’t expecting him to have such a good thriller/suspense movie. But it was awesome
I hope you didnt finish this vid and went straight to the movie. Its gonna be a shame if you already know about the fantastic plot
Great, great film. One of the few "twisty" heist films that is both surprising and not ridiculous.
This was such a dope film to see in theaters
Funny enough i searched for this exact video ON SUNDAY and was sadden that yall never thought to do this movie... i havent even watched it yet and ik imma enjoy!
G-Cup. B-Cup. Yeah, yeah. That's a good one :)
Wtf! The beginning monologue was definitely written by a scriptwriter inpired by the Architect of Matrix Reloaded.
I really enjoyed this film. And the sins on it are SPOT-ON, but also completely forgivable. :)
Arguably denzels best work 🐐
😂😂😂 @ the ridiculous stop sign!
2:18 they got the Equalizer…worry about THAT lol!
Ok.... Now u doin klassikz (salute)
I love this movie, almost couldn't let myself watch this
👌🏾. Great movie! Way to go, Spike!
You're now also whispering sins at me when I'm watching.. anything.
No Brad Pitt outtake yelling: whats im the box?!?
One of the best movies I even seeing
Lmfao called him a degenerate for stealing from grandma 😂 delivery was gold
Thought the sin was for being one of the suspects hiding in plain sight
I asked this movie 3 years ago when you posted Once Upon Time in a Holywood sins video. Better late than never I guess.
Never understood how the girl with big boobs got away. The police KNOWS a woman with big brests is a robber and there are only 2 women who fit the discription. There is no way they would let her go like that.
Like the police chief said though. They weren’t 100% sure and there was no point because “nothing was stolen” and no one was hurt in the end
@@GizmoBeach is that the one headed "More than a handful is just right".
They would have just followed both of them until they observed one of them meeting up with multiple other "hostages" that she should have had no connection with. And boom, search warrants and arrests.
@geezerpleasers_OG
That is only if they were actually investigating.
Considering they werent and there was so much pressure to just move , its very unlikely they could spend the resources.
That is part of the plan as well.
Plus its a movie so those facts get handwaved some to make a week timeline work. Otherwise they would just push it out to a month and get the same effect.
@@donjean6590 The police already spent a huge amount of resources on the apparent robbery, and that would have been only one of many motivating factors to continue to spend all the resources necessary to bust the crew. Let's see, in a highly publicized event that people all over the country, and especially over the city, would have been watching, they captured dozens of bank employees and customers and held them captive for multiple days, so that they were in fear for their lives, couldn't go home to their families or go to their jobs; they brutally beat one employee; they shut down a bank branch for days so that it couldn't do business; and they tied up a great deal of police resources and shut down the area around the bank for days. The idea that they could just walk away from all that and nobody would continue the investigation was the biggest sin in the movie. The idea that they wouldn't be tracked down and found, no matter how long it took, is laughable.
Very cool
5:30 so give them the Green Goblin's glider
Maybe this explains Christopher Plummer's character's past in Remember... (worth checking out if you can find it)
Benedict Cumberbatch had to answer some questions about reparations about his ancestors
Me still hoping we get The Taking of Pelham 123 🤞🏻
I find myself saying “u better come take a look at this cliche” so much😭😭
I love Cinema Sins, just now wondering how many times they watch and replay and pause these movies and TV shows just to make these great videos.🤔😁
Think of the smell😨
The movie does pose an interesting question that I like about whether that man should still be looked down on for the way he got his wealth or the fact that he has shown remorse in that it is often now used for humanitarian purposes. Either way, it's interesting to mull over, but I usually go for the former, personally.
I find the latter to be tantamount to being able to buy forgiveness.
@cassolmedia true. But what world a person have to do to earn forgiveness then?
@@msjkramey Not be a nazi shithead? You don't get to be one of the worst shitstains on the planet and then come crawling back when you lost after you literally wished to eradicate an entire culture and several subcultures and races off of the face of the earth. So, so long as you didn't do that sure you can try and ask for forgiveness.

7:01 - The sheer fact they thought people would think the PSP was capable of graphics that look to be from the PS2. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories doesn't look anywhere near that good.
Another movie with zero sins, somehow gets sinned 😂
3:39 subtitle reads ‘an AK-47’ but my guy CLEARLY says “a AK-47…” grammar sin! Ding
I really enjoyed this movie. Big Denzel fan but also, it had some originality to it.
niiiice. JohnQ next please thank you.
Fucking good film. Only one thing…… Wouldn’t the bank owner check his box and find the ring before the feds ? He’s had a week since the robbery.
Ahh yes Denzel..saw this in the theater a few times and DeJaVu that same year...doesn't matter how convoluted the plot is if Denzel's in it im watching it.
the reason they didn't fire at 5:41 was because they were worried about losing any hostages inside the building so of course they did not fire on anyone
NOW PLEASE SIN CLOSER ❤❤❤ MORE CLIVE OWENS SINS PLEASE
Just realizing that opening by breaking the fourth wall is top tier foreshadowing
Especially BECAUSE it doesn't tie in to the rest of the format; that makes it a stylistic choice we should be questioning, but probably aren't, at least on that level

@@seewhativescene I'm afraid I don't understand what you're trying to point out
This is the first rated R movie I saw in the movies when I was 11/12. I felt so mature, considering how much cursing is in this movie. Always a special place in my heart. Lol for that, I take a sin away.
Awesome movie, great cut-up you did of it, and loved the sin and comment on the stock market early on.
