If you watch blood thirsty lordy on UA-cam. When he plays predator hunting grounds he allows the fireteams to get revives and downs them again. So it's legit when predators toy with their prey.
Arnold Schwarzenegger sat me on his bicep when I was abt 4, in Columbus Ohio, during one of his tours for kids health and exercise awareness. It was the best thing ever! -He IS a Legend to me!
At 12:22 we actually see that removing the helmet alters the Predator's vision - more specifically, the environment gets all red, meaning it is warmer. It's the movie essentially telling us that the helmet provides some kind of filter, only reading the heat radiating by a living, hot-blooded animal. It is actually pretty consistent and definitely not a sin. I've always believed that they got this idea after their initial tentatives to shoot with a thermal camera in the jungle became problematic because the environment was warmer than the actors' bodies, making them impossible to read (the director says it in the audio commentary).
Heat it heat - mask simply might have higher dynamic range, accenting small differences, HDR of sorts, to make everything more readable. ALSO: in real life , crew had to cool jungle off with water so thermal camera could capture the cast xD
I'm sorry, but how can you sin Arnold's roar? After the two warriors have prepared themselves for battle in their own distinct ways, Dutch challenges the predator to a final showdown with a loud, booming, primeval roar that echoes throughout the jungle; a challenge and signal that two beasts of nature are to war with each other to the death, winner take all. That's just too fucking awesome
The reason why the Predator didn't kill Arnold's team right off the bat was explained in the comics canon- The first rescue team caught the Predator by surprise within minutes of crashing, so he killed them all in a haste. When a Predator has a "bad kill" he usually strings them up. When he has a "good kill"- facing a worthy opponent- he beheads them after he kills them and keeps their skulls as trophies. By the time Arnold and his team arrived the Predator had gotten used to his surroundings so he was able to hunt as per tradition- study his prey's combat skills, determine if he should kill them from a distance or close combat, and then wipe them out and take their skulls.
@Jase_LV actually it isn't a flaw in film when certain information is omitted. Some info, when not vital to the actual plot, is left for theorists to explore. It is fun to theorize the reasoning behind certain actions and motivations in material. In this particular case we have the comic as an answer, but plenty of people who study Yautja or other beings/characters in fantasy/sci-fi/etc. look to the available depictions as a form of study material.
Billy wasn't the game he wanted to fight fairly. These creatures laid down their entire lives just to find that one fight with the real challenging prey to the death. It was what they lived for.
Gary Castro Dutch earned the respect cause the predator didn’t even try to get up after getting crushed by that log. It knew it was done for so it set of its bomb, probably not really to kill Dutch but to destroy its gear.
Billy was Brave but still armed with a Knife and was killed quickly. Arnold showed not only Brave but Intelligence as well, he had escaped the Predator, he wounded the Predator and took out his plasma weapon...The Predator had respect for him after all that.
@@Dettlaff2 The cannon shot for center mass, just like with the other 2 guys. His rifle was held at chest height, and just so happened to block it. The cannon aimed at the center of the target, it wasn't made to shoot around a held object that may or may not have been able to block a plasma round. The only potential sin is whether or not an m16 would be penetrated by a plasma caster shot. Obviously the movie is saying it wouldn't, and so its plausible he survived with only minor injuries given the circumstances. No sin.
@@Dettlaff2 Depends on the amount of force behind the shot. I don't know enough about the mass/density of plasma to say whether the blunt force alone could do major damage, or if its the heat alone that is lethal- similar to how a laser would work. @@Dettlaff2 Just skimmed through that episode i mentioned. Turns out, he specifically says that plasma doesn't have much mass, so its the heat transfer, not the kinetic energy, that does the real damage. Think getting struck by lightning. Looks like the movie got it right, even if they didn't put nearly that much thought into their "cool movie weapons," lol.
Definitely. A movie/book/game cant really be dinged for a cliché that it spawned; it wasn't a cliché when the work in question was made, it only became one after OTHER media started copying it.
Actually, mythbusters tested the heat vision thing and mud will in fact make you invisible. So will a common bedsheet. so exchange that sin for "most advanced hunter in the universe can be fooled by a bad casper costume"
ua-cam.com/video/nMbx3WUf89k/v-deo.html Check out 1:19 - 1:21. It's during the scene where the Predator "doesn't see" Arnold. Only, you can see him during the Predator Vision sequence. Meaning, Predator saw Arnie, but didn't recognize the blue blob AS Arnie.
Title of Venturas autobiography. Because this film is the only thing he has ever done which isn't an embarrassment to the human species. He could have called it "When I first heard of this conspiracy theory I though it was ridiculous, but I asked June Sarpong to investigate and now..."
8:57 The Predator Shoots Arnolds gun, not Arnold. Knowing he was the last one left, The Predator wanted to draw out the kill. Like toying with someone weaker than you.
I guessed that when I first saw the movie, too. Though the way the shot was made, one could be forgiven the misconception. Knowing Cinemasins, they prioritized on this deliberately.
Thats not the point. The point is that the 'bullet' of the predator should have had a stronger effect, because it has a strong effect. Just like when you shoot with a shotgun at someone and all thats left is a mearly wound.
I am not completely sure but I think predator can control how strong a blast shot from his cannon he wants it to be so I always thought he toned it down just to disarm Arnie
The reason Predator left for so long is because he had to climb the cliff and grab Billy's body and put it in a tree to get the skull and spine as a trophy.

It does serve the story for Anna to start speaking English at that point. Before that moment, she had escape on her mind, and considering the CIA interrogation that awaited her who could blame her? But at that moment she realized her chances of surviving were better if she began cooperating with her captors after weighing her options with the Predator.
You cant sin cliches in old movies because in that time it wasnt cliche until the following movies kept using it over and over again hence becoming a cliche.
Everything about the Predator’s behaviour can be explained by the fact that he’s hunting these guys for sport. They’re his trophies. Why doesn’t he kill the Spanish/Russian insurgents early on? Cause they’re not “warriors” worthy of being hunted? Why does he stalk the team for so long rather than just kill them right away? It’s all part of the game, the sport. He’s having fun. He’s the hunter, and they’re his prey. PREDATOR.
He’s also learning from them. That’s part of watching, if he ran in there shoulder canon blazing he could’ve gotten caught by surprise by something, but by watching them he was learning everything he needed to successfully hunt them.
Yes and the scene where they start moving long distance to the chopper... it pauses when theyre looking out over the ravine. A deep dark valley.. pacho looks back at dutch as if to say were really gonna go through that kill house.. but they have no choice down there is where it hits the fan. Movies explain a lot of things it just takes a few viewings to pick up every little thing.

Actually that 'iron fence' face camouflage is the most effective face paint to blend in nature, tested by US Army. The pattern called 'South Korean pattern' because Korean during Korean war usually used that pattern. At close, the pattern might look as ineffective because of straight lines, but the most important part of camouflage is breaking up your outlines. And your face is dimensional, not as flat as your body parts. From US Army test, straight lines painted across your face work better than any micro patterns. Look at this video, if your don't have spare time just skip to the last part. ua-cam.com/video/YpzUr3twW4Q/v-deo.html
honestly they're scraping the bottom of the barrel now. there are certain films that are perfect within their genre and this is one of them. if you're looking for the perfect 80s action flick, it's simply not possible to make a film better than Predator.
So, I get why he's drinking the vine even while he still has supplies; He doesn't know where he's going to get more water. But hey, I'm thirsty now, and there's a vine. Boom. Remove a sin!
as a team, they'd pack the supplies they need for their short mission... the movie was clearly just alluding to billy's supposedly superior survival knowledge and general outdoorsy-ness due to his native american heritage. They do it in every gd movie involving a native american, it's super cliche.
@@waynewayne8419 True, they might have been new to things and on their first mission therefore believing everything will go according to plan, no one is withholding information, and backup is always at your back. It's possible, I guess..
@@markjohnson4643 Sure, it became a cliché, but hadn't been used as much before Predator, so in 1987 people hadn't seen it a hundred times already. The first scenes are fantastic at introducing the crew in two ways: 1. They're a really diverse group, and not in the bullsh*t modern sense. They have white guys, black guys, a native (probably halfblood) and a Hispanic guy, and what's great is that they're all presented as individual badasses, who are great at their job, but each have their specific fields of expertise. There are no filler characters on the team. None only cast to be the diversity hire. They're very distinct, but at the same time absolutely believable as a crew. Billy drinking from the vine shows, that he has been on similar missions before, because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be idiotic enough to drink from a plant that he hasn't researched and that could be poisonous... or give him bad diarrhea on such a mission. He's a competent survivalist, not just the nutjob psychic Indian, who runs around with a machete and decides to commit suicide in a creative way near the end. They all have these little scenes, that tell you something about their personalities and how capable they are at their job: The scorpion scene serves a similar purpose. Poncho effortlessly switching between languages (with no on-the-nose ethnic setup) and taking Hawkins' job after he has been killed. Dutch making clear, that he won't risk his men's lives and cares for each one of them. That's what you won't find in modern Predator sequels. Those little snippets, that show the characters' humanity and give away that they're all equally great, but in their own ways. 2. When you've started to see them as those expert badasses and care for them, because they come across as real people and not just fictional characters, the movie gives you this fight scene and has them absolutely obliterate the enemy. The hyper-violence exists to show you, that they are really the best of the best, who can easily (within a couple of minutes) take out a whole enemy base, almost without a scratch. And then it hits you with the Predator, but in a very clever way. First it takes out Hawkins, the least buff of them, the jester of the group. But then the bodybuilders start to fall. A minigun won't protect you from it. There's something in the woods, that can kill this elite commando - the best of the best. Something, that scares Billy. And that's when you realise, that they're f*cked. In several scenes Billy was almost able to see it, or at least sense it. You thought they might have a chance, but when even your expert survivalist tracker shaman says, that you're all going to die, shit has hit the fan and your life expectancy is nearing zero. To have THAT team of top-notch mercenaries in fear and getting killed one by one, despite their knowledge and experience and firepower makes the whole story all the more intense and terrifying. The predator isn't taking out a bunch of pet gerbils, but the kings of the jungle themselves. It's defined by the danger its prey poses, and we've learned right from the start, that this is the toughest, most capable, ridiculously overpowered prey it could have run into. Thanos is having nightmares about Dutch's team.
She doesn’t speak English right away out of self-protection. At first she’s keeping her distance, probably planning her escape, then once she sees the green goo and realizes they’re being hunted by a badass alien creature, she figures “oh shit, I better start speaking English and help these guys out or we’re all dead”. Seems motivation enough for me. I buy it.
And she helps them when it's clear the Predator is the bigger threat to her than some US soldiers who just want to take her back as a prisoner and not skin her.
I am always amazed by the actor who played The Predator had to wear so many prosthetics and makeup. Kudos to him for wearing that makeup and prosthetics in the jungle
RJ Spinello Kevin Peter Hall. He was also the helicopter pilot at the end and played as the Predator in the 2nd movie but died in 1991 at the age of 36 of AIDS related Pneumonia👎
jean claude van damme was the predator originally but he refused to stop doing kicks and the producers thought a alien doing jump kicks was retarded so they fired him

The narrator has never set an ambush, nor is he aware of how they are set. Maybe the predator wasn't watching them set up the kill zone/beaten ground? This isn't a documentary, is it?
Man I lost so much respect for you. The mud thing, yeah that was stupid. But the reason he let Dutch get ready, didn't kill him right away, set his shoulder gun to not kill him, and took off his mask for a one on one is because he was after Dutch the whole time. If you knew anything about Predator, the reason his vision changed was because he took off his mask. So the red is his natural eye sight and if that's what your species saw, it wouldn't hinder you at all. And, like I said, he was after Dutch. He killed off everyone else so he could have an honorable fight with his target. It's the Predator right of passage. Find a target, hunt it, and fight it. Same thing happened in 2. Plus, they aren't monsters. They are intelligent aliens. So, everyone of them is different. They all have their own personalities. Some will just kill their targets outright, others will fight them in fair combat.
He was after Dutch? So that’s why he had been killing everyone else before Dutch got there. ....hhhmm...you cosplay as a friendly predator in mlp world don’t you.

"No one filmed this scene on the same day" hey you're actually right, most of the action/shooting segment of the village assault was filmed by the 2nd unit.
When watching a B-movie, having a confused face and cringing eyes about a scene, is when you notice a CinemaSin. For me (and I love this movie) was the sin52, and maybe Dutch surviving the jungle exterminating blast while at most 100 yards from the center.
NO WAY I’M LETTING YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS The predator hunts for sport, he wants a challenge. That’s why he didn’t kill people crawling for weapons. Same reason he didn’t kill the unarmed girl. The predator has more than one sense of vision. The two that were displayed in this film were thermal, and infra red. So the other one you saw, was infra red. The predator took his mask off at the end then fist fought him, because again, its supposed to be a challenge for the predator. Its a hunt he wanted to be impressed by, so he thinned a lot of them off and when he saw the opportunity for an interesting fight, he took it. So hah.
CinemaSins, the Predator didn't leave Arnold a flesh wound or even hit Arnold with its Plasma Cannon. The Plasma hit the Gun and broke it into two pieces. 8:55
By far, my very best, most adored movie ever put to film! I LOVE THIS FILM! I JUST LOVE IT!!!! PS: The Predator was hunting them one at a time. The time of deaths of the commandos are planned to perfection by the Hunter. First, the guy that got away from the pack (kill of opportunity), then the guy with the big gun (most dangerous foe), then the one that wound him crawls in the dirt (didn't even bother for him, not worthy of his time, he didn't even take his skull), then another man is in the open and dies like a "hero" (mano a mano, chops his hand of, mutilates him, the predator way of saying I like you), then the one that was your "main" adversary ( the Hunter knew he was on to him, that's why he took his spine too, but he turned out to be rather easy kill), then the wounded one (no need to over analyze :P ) and finally the main event: Arnie! At first, he was a worthy adversary (that's why he took off his mask) but then he smacked him around like nothing (so he decided to just cut his head off and be done with it! But then he finds out about the traps, so he is ready to fuck him up. But he is fooled by the trap thing. So, as he is about to die, he does what any Predator would do: A ritualistic suicide (yes, that's what that was). He doesn't care if he would kill Arnie, all he did was send a signal to the mothership, to make sure that other Predators know that Earth is a somewhat good place to hunt! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
It did take Mac's skull. During Arnie and the Predator's parallel preparation scenes, the Predator takes out a skull from his hunt and strokes it; one of the others has a charred hole in the temple area, the same place where Mac was shot. I believe while it was an easy kill (and possibly had little sport value when compared with the others), he still took it since Mac was the only one (up to that point) who was able to wound it.
JediBlades42 I was going to say that, yeah I saw a skull with a hole in it. Then again, what about the last guy the predator shot before? He got shot in the head too, right?
I saw this movie in 2014 for the first time and I though it wasn't older than 10 years. Then I found this was released in the mid 80'.Anyway this was the best predator movie for me
@@judgewilson2410 The two arent separate; Sport and Fun are interchangable for Yautja. Thats why they dont kill the unarmed and children, because theres no challenge. No challenge = not fun. Their honorcode is completely tied to their idea of sport... but as the comics show, so is fun.
@@judgewilson2410 _> I think you misunderstood what i was saying..? For predators, the sport comes with an honorcode that they strictly adhere to. They hunt (the sport) because its fun. Its just like big game hunters in real life... they dont Need to hunt; they've made a sport out of it for the fun of it. There are rules and guidelines they need to adhere to, and choosing not to adhere to said rules makes them poachers. Yes there is. Mac’s scorpion kill. It makes a 360 before and after it gets crushed by the boot. So many filming mistakes. But plotwise? No. It’s perfect the way it is.
Look at when Predators comes out. They usually put out content when a new film that’s similar is out in cinemas because people will be searching for the new film. Don’t blame them at all.
Arnold says 'if it bleeds' not 'it is bleeding.' He's trying to reassure himself and his unit there's a chance of victory and seeing very good evidence of what humans and every living creature would consider a 'wound' is by far the best shot they have at actually winning an engagement. Saying 'I cannot make a single quantifiable assessment of it other than it is dangerous' may be slightly more accurate buuuuut isn't really the best choice in a leadership role. That's more like a scientists job
Now count how many incredibly lazy movies got sins off lately. Quality of the movie has nothing to do with sin offs, sins are offed for awesomeness of the moment itself. Arnie going mano-a-mano against an alien super-hunter is worth a sin-off no matter how shitty the rest of the movie is.

Actually the Predator was looking the shape of his skull and didn't like it for a trophy. That's why colected the first one and decided to play with Dutch.

I think he's being ironic
From US Army test, straight lines painted across your face work better than any micro patterns. honestly they're scraping the bottom of the barrel now. there are certain films that are perfect within their genre and this is one of them. if you're looking for the perfect 80s action flick, it's simply not possible to make a film better than Predator.
So, I get why he's drinking the vine even while he still has supplies; He doesn't know where he's going to get more water. But hey, I'm thirsty now, and there's a vine. Boom. Remove a sin!
Yup. Best to extract needed resources BEFORE using supplies. It's 101.
as a team, they'd pack the supplies they need for their short mission... the movie was clearly just alluding to billy's supposedly superior survival knowledge and general outdoorsy-ness due to his native american heritage. They do it in every gd movie involving a native american, it's super cliche.
@@a105-t5m no it’s not lol. The guy just landed and the mission is gonna last a day.
The first scenes are fantastic at introducing the crew in two ways:
I expect a 14 minute long video of you saying nothing
Would have been better

The predator hunts for sport, he wants a challenge.
So hah.

Predator is the greatest action movie of all time. It is cinematic perfection. PERIOD.
I just wanted to say that I really like your explanation! :)
Predator: "If you're looking for a challenge come to Earth, 10/10 would hunt again."
JediBlades42 I was going to say that, yeah I saw a skull with a hole in it. Then again, what about the last guy the predator shot before? He got shot in the head too, right?
It's just a theory. Not an definitive explanation of the movie.

@@judgewilson2410 The two arent separate; Sport and Fun are interchangable for Yautja. Thats why they dont kill the unarmed and children, because theres no challenge. No challenge = not fun. Their honorcode is completely tied to their idea of sport... but as the comics show, so is fun.
bloodydove5718 no....the comics novels AND movies show sport 😂😂😂
@@judgewilson2410 _> I think you misunderstood what i was saying..? For predators, the sport comes with an honorcode that they strictly adhere to. They hunt (the sport) because its fun. This is further elaborated on and shown in the movies. They have no other reason for doing this, other than its fun and shows how great they are. Thats why the two (Sport and Fun) arent separate. Its just like big game hunters in real life... they dont Need to hunt; they've made a sport out of it for the fun of it. There are rules and guidelines they need to adhere to, and choosing not to adhere to said rules makes them poachers. In most countries poachers can be killed on sight (bad bloods, just like in the movies, comics, and novels). Look at when Predators comes out. They usually put out content when a new film that’s similar is out in cinemas because people will be searching for the new film.
Don’t blame them at all.
I was thinking the same.
Benjamin Fricke they needed to wait to hype up the new Predator movie. Someone’s getting paid
This was the 80s and this was great movie making, and its called movies a break from reality
"Everything Wrong with Predator" Absolutely nothing
tigerbread78 damn right its a classic
The new predator on the other hand..oof
Jordan Garcia The new predator isnt even out yet
Old sins no way. What this channel is now. Boring

“Blew a hole the size of Minnesota in Jesse Ventura and blew the right hook clean off Apollo Creed”
OMG I’m dead 😵
You could of made a video 1 second long. Everything Wrong With Predator
Nothing
Gaming Toast *could have
Gaming Toast Arnold outran the 300 block explosion (although it’s more of a sin on the second movie)
Apparently there's 13 minutes wrong with this movie
why the hell people use "could of"? where did it came from?
In my opinion it's not as good watching it few years later, I still like it its just not as good.
This film is a true masterpiece
And not a single sin-off? You're just subverting expectations for the hell of it, and that makes you no better than the Last Jedi.
I agree. Even the new horrible all female Ghost Busters got two sins off, but Predator got none.
This guy just shits out videos now without much real effort
This movie doesn't deserve any sins off. Several times characters talk without moving their lips. Something like that shows laziness.
Alex Trill ... I have no idea how you got from point A to point B
You are seriously my fave channel!
Interesting tidbit:
Predator Blood is made out of KY Jelly and Glow Sticks. Fact!
Lord Krythic what KY jelly
It's lube
Another interesting fact: The black choppa pilot at the end of the movie is Kevin Peter Hall, the guy in who played the Predator!
I always new the Predator movie was secretly an Arno porn video!
Nice.
Can I just say, as a guy who’s taken trees down and hangs multi ton logs from ropes every day, there is nothing wrong with how Arnie ties up that log.
Thank you.
This is movie history man, this isnt a cliche it's the thing that people copied. And "if it bleeds, we can kill it" is a great movie moment and really didnt earn a sin.
Hardest videos to watch while getting stoned. I can't hold in a hit to save my life... Best commentary anywhere!!!
Hey narrator the “pirate plank” is a helicopter blade
lmao
UHHH NO IT'S NOT...LOOK HOW IT PENETRATES THROUGH THE TREES...

@@guyincognito9484 it was a helicopter blade if you ever watched the movie though
"Predicure" - I love it
I will accept none of the sins you give this movie. It is the coolest, most badass film of all time and it has zero flaws - y'all damn well know that!
When you realize most Predator sins turn out to be absolutely EPIC and became a source of inspiration for many filmmakers in all years to come...
Just an fyi the predator was hunting the humans like game hence the gun, then the gun broke and the game proved strong and worthy aka another strong sentient being so the predators honor code demanded a “fair” fight.
Actually the Predator was looking the shape of his skull and didn't like it for a trophy. That's why colected the first one and decided to play with Dutch. But you're right for everything else, the honor code also. They do not kill unarmed 'civilian' prey - women, children, elderly. They hunt only the strongest, violent ones. As said in the second movie - they are drawn by heat and conflict.
well if you look up the story of the predators their race is alot more intriguing then some fans think and we're the reason why aliens were used as prey as well but humans got too dangerous so they left when the mayans(or aztecs i still get that part confused) were still around!
at 1:40 that's not a man made plank. its the rotor off the crashed helicopter that they are investigating. take at least 2 sins off!!!
Don't forget, Sonny Landham (Billy) also ran for governor of Kentucky.
He also holds the record for playing a character with the same name the most times. At the time of his death, he had played a character named "Billy", 22 times.
@@blkmedic That's been proven to be a lie. He only played a a character named Billy like 5 or 6 times, if I remember right. He also started in porn movies in the 70's
@@George-wb9du why you gotta go messing up a good story with facts?

Sin in the hostage rescue scene. McTiernan didn't want this scene. The studio wanted this scene. He wouldn't it film it because of how lazy, rote and amateur it was. He wanted a completely different approach. The studio waited until he was taking a day off and made the second unit director film it. You should hear him bitch about it in the director commentary.
Cinema Sins lost this fight
Yup nothing wrong with this movie. This time cinema sins needs to shut the fuck off
yeah...these sins appear to be extremely forced..
@@RobimusPrime People still take Cinema Sins as a serious review channel? Jesus Christ. And nothing wrong with Predator? 😄 It's great film but didn't age well at all, most 80s and 90s action films are unwatchable now, masterpieces of their time I'll grant you but deeply flawed by today's standards
wtf--unwatchable my ass. Movies nowadays suck big time. 80s rocked the big time.
First off, Predator is actually better thought of and recieved then during its release
Secondly i made a joke about cinema sins losing
I didnt sulk...or throw a tantrum, so give your gums a rest
I thank you
The scene where everybody keeps shooting into the jungle was added by McTiernan as an answer to the higher-ups who wanted more action, more bullets. More bullets, you say? Okay. Everybody, shoot thousands of bullets into that patch of woods. Thank you.
Ben Jacques John McTiernan is a national fucking treasure, he deserves all of life’s luxuries for making this movie
