Bosch GHD 26 82D plane (planer) unboxed and Tested

- I've owned a Bosch PHO 100 plane (planer?) for 3 decades and have only replaced a drive belt and recently a set of blade that I shattered on first usage! So rather than spend out on another set of blade for a 30 year old tool I decided to upgrade.
I went for Bosch again, the GHD 26 82D, due to the reliability of the old one. I hope I was right in that choice. Time will tell.
It feels very well made and not too heavy in use. The duel port for dust extraction is great for a left hander too. There is a nice length of cable so I found it easy to move around the door in the video with ease. A rebating jig is inclued as is a dust collection bas and a nice storage case in blown plastic. Not a bag like some manufactures give you!
Overall, so far I'd give it 10 out of 10. I'll report back if I have any issues.

Proper review of a proper tool from a proper man who does a proper job always, BAU 👏🏻🤩👍🏻
HI, great comments, thank you. Many thanks for watching 👍🏽👍🏽
Absolutely not happy with mine. As a test I planed four dry scantlings. At the end the shoe aluminium was badly scratched by knots and jolted so it leaves marks on the surface now.
Wow, that’s a shame. So far so good on mine, all is well. I would have expected more from Bosch.
Wish all reviews be like this good. Spot on camera right where you are talking and easy to understand to the basics 👍
Many thanks for the great comments and feedback, much appreciated
I'm late to the party, but this was still a very helpful review from the real world. Thank you for making this!
Glad it was helpful! It's a great tool, I use mine most weeks. Thanks for the feedback and for watching 👍🏽
great review, thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Bill, much appreciated 👍🏽
it is better to have just one blade? whats the difference white the ones that has 2 blades? thanks !!
Hi Martin, my earlier Bosch had 2 blades and although I only have replaced them once I had a real job aligning one blade to the other. If one was a tad high it would do most of the work. Also they both needed to be dead square or else you would get a bad cut. The same thing applies to the single blade I have now in the sense of being square but now I only need to replace and set one blade. I do suppose though as its doing all the work it will wear out quicker but I would choose 1 blade over 2 simply for the ease of blade replacement, even if I had to do it a bit more frequently than a 2 blader. There may be a lot more to it than that but that is my take on it. Thanks for the comment and of course for watching 👍🏽
@@MikeMakesIt Thanks Mike !!
