  • When I began to sit down and write out an exegesis of Luke 1:26-38 my mind and my fingers went in another direction. I felt led to give an overview of the miracle-working power of Yahweh, and encouraging everyone to stay with the text of Scripture not matter where it leads or what the cost. I hope and pray this lesson will be a righteous influence to all who have ears to hear.

What a wonderful song & spot on. I have been searching for a wife for a while & my “pickup line” was always - God is #1 for me, you will be #2. I can trust my wife 100% to be faithful if God is always #1 for her.

Brother Matthew, I appreciate this message. Some issues that people struggle regarding the virgin conception are valid. I think the biggest thing is not 1 other New Testament author, mentions the virgin birth or defines its doctrinal importance. I believe in the virgin birth like you because it is clearly in Matthew and Luke. But you don’t think it’s odd the point above? Also since the NT has corruptions and additions like the end of Mark, do you think it’s an absolute impossibility that the Matthew and Luke accounts were later additions and that all other accounts were eradicated? Do you think that is an impossible scenario? Knowing the Catholic Church did MUCH to redefine terms and eliminate the necessity or Torah and intending to proof text the Trinity doctrine? Especially as a Unitarian, for arguments sake, remove the virgin birth narrative, and could they promote a “Trinity” ? Just questions. I believe like you do but I have learned to question EVERYTHING. A lot of other questions about the virgin birth…. What are your thoughts?

Like you, I've been attempting to sort out by reading and listening to the scholars, what are the authentic NT texts. I came to the conclusion that if Yeshua is indeed born of a virgin, then he is the Messiah. If Joseph, Mary's husband was actually Yeshua's father, then Yeshua is still the Messiah.
I believe in the Virgin birth, but if I did find out that it's wrong belief, then my faith in Yeshua isn't dented.
      Shalom

@@lilynazara3809I agree with that. Thank you for commenting. I just don’t understand why it’s important. We know Messiah was a son of Adam at least through the egg of Mary and therefore was a mortal human. Romans 8:3 says Yehoshua was in “sinful flesh”, which means mortal body. I think our bent as sinners, we want to make him more than we are, to in a sense, diminish the fact that we have chosen sin. In other words the only way Yehoshua could have remained sinless was because he was “divine” in some way from birth. Man is made “divine” because we ALL are made in Ya’s image. For Yeshua to have to be some how be conceived of Elohim, does seem like a very gnostic idea which became Trinitarianism. Although I recognize the textual information Matthew mentioned is true, namely that there is no evidence of textual corruption, at least in my mind that is not 100% proof that there couldn’t have been and wasn’t textual corruption. If that was a central point of doctrine, wouldn’t at least 1 NT author outside of Luke & Matthew emphasize it? You make a good point, thank you! I would be curious if Matthew thinks there is something wrong with your or my statements.

      Thanks for listening brother.
I think two NT authors (Matthew and Luke) are valid. We only have one time in the Tanach that tells us not to take a mother bird with her young (Deut. 22:6-7), but it’s still valid.
Concerning corruptions (interpolations), as I mentioned in the sermon, we have to be able to prove them with manuscript evidence, else we will just be believing what we want the text to say rather than what it actually says.
A Catholic (or Protestant) might redefine some terms but we can always go back to Scripture. Someone can attempt to proof-text for the Trinity doctrine, but is it really in Scripture? I argue no, and I don’t have to do that by making up an interpolation. It’s good to question and be critical, but we should always trust Holy Scripture.

@@emjmnc thank you for your response. I agree with the things you say. It can not be underemphasized the importance of the preservation of the truth in the manuscript evidence of the scriptures. Once you remove the doctrine of preservation, the whole house comes crumbling down. Like you said in the video and your reply, there is no evidence for that.

A quick side note, I believe scripture (1 Enoch included) speaks to Enoch being translated into the heavens where he saw many things in those layers of the firmament. He was translated without seeing death, however, I believe he did not receive the promise of the resurrected body and eternal life as told in Hebrews 11. I think he did eventually die a fleshly death, due to the fact that the information he received was written in scripture and passed down. How would we have an account of his experience and shared understanding otherwise? Just food for thought I suppose.

I have a question Brother. The verse in Luke that says In saying this Jesus declared all foods clean. Surely this is a later addition by translators, not the words of our Lord Yeshua..

    • @emjmnc
      @emjmnc  3 місяці тому +1

It’s in Mark 7:19 in some modern versions.
The issue is a grammatical, textual variant in the manuscripts. The phrase “purging all meats/foods” is neuter in some manuscripts but masculine in others. Most modern translations side with the manuscripts in which the verb purging (katharizon) is in the masculine form, thus going back to the “he” in verse 18. Other manuscripts have katharizon in the neuter, which would then go back to the “stomach” or “belly” mentioned just before. The KJV follows this latter view drawing from the neuter form manuscripts; at that point the intestines purge the meat by eliminating what is not needed into the toilet or draught (KJV). Contextually, I like the KJV rendering, but if the masculine rendering is true (and it is “he” or Yeshua purging all foods) the word foods should be understood in the Hebrew context. Nothing that is considered to be defined as food in Torah can be defiled by eating it with ritually unwashed hands.

"YATSAR YAHUAH ELOHIYM MIN HA' ADAMAH/GROUND"
    Genesis 2: 19-20
And ""OUT OF THE GROUND"" ""THE LORD GOD"" "FORMED EVERY BEAST OF THE FIELD"", ""and every fowl of the air"" ; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him."
    Genesis 2: 7
"But there went up "A MIST FROM THE EARTH", and "WATERED THE WHOLE FACE OF THE GROUND". And ""THE LORD GOD FORMED MAN"" ""OF THE DUST"" ""OF THE GROUND"", and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and "MAN BECAME A LIVING SOUL".
And The LORD God planted a Garden eastward in Eden; and there he put "THE MAN WHOM HE HAD FORMED". And "OUT OF THE GROUND" "MADE THE LORD GOD" "to grow every tree" "that is pleasant to the sight", "and Good for Food" ; "The Tree of Life" also in The Midst of The Garden, and "the tree of knowledge of good and evil"."
    Genesis 1: 24-26
"And GOD SAID, ""LET THE EARTH"" ""BRING FORTH"" ""THE LIVING CREATURE"" ""AFTER HIS KIND"", ""cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind"" : ""and it was so"". And "God" ""made"" ""the beast of the earth after his kind"", and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
And God said, "Let us make Man in our image, after our likeness : and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
    AMEN

      - Case of The "Only Begotten Son" :
John 3 16 : "For God so loved "The World", that he gave "HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON", "that whosoever believeth in him should not perish", "but have Everlasting Life"."
... It means "Only One of His Kind", "His Only Perfect Reflection" ! "The Seed of THe Promises" !
      ...Let us see :
1 Chronicles 1 28 : "The Sons of Abraham; "Isaac, and Ishmael"."
Genesis 22 1-2 : "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, "Abraham" : and he said, "Behold, here I am." And he said, "TAKE THY SON", "THINE ONLY SON ISAAC", "whom thou lovest", and get thee into The Land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of"."
Hebrews 11 17-19 : "By Faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac : and he that had received "THE PROMISES" offered up "HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON", "of whom it was said", "That in Isaac" shall "THY SEED" "be called" : "Accounting that God was able "to raise him up", even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure"."
