Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife, Beast And The Harlot, Buried Alive, Bat country, So far away and Nightmare are some other good ones. Oddly enough to me Hail to the king is the most "radio friendly" song they made.
Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. these guys are FIRE!!!
I am 52 years old, I have seen an heard so many generations of rock music. I grew up on classic and hair metal . Then was grunge and nu metal. These guys are some of my favorite bands.
The entire "Live in the LBC" album is a MUST, especially "Critical Acclaim", "Beast and the Harlot", "Afterlife", "Second Heartbeat", "Almost Easy", "Scream" and .... Just watch the whole damned concert! You will NOT regret it!
Afterlife from them is a must! Also So Far Away is a great song and tribute to theor original drummers who passed away. Another one of my favorites is This Means War which you can hear their Metallica influence on them. The list goes on.
Hey y'all, you're absolutely right this is a great song, by a great band. Just so you all know, in the chorus they are not cheering saying yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, it's "Hail Hail Hail".. that makes it even better huh! Love to see you all checking out the old tunes that I always thought were great- keep it up and FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT! 👍🏻✌🏻
Great song. Please check out Queensryche "Take hold of the flame" live in Tokyo. This is one of two encore songs after a full concert. Geoff Tate is great in this. You will not be disappointed.
Avenged Sevenfold is one of the most successful rock/hard rock groups of the 21st century. I saw them live last year and they kicked ass “Critical Acclaim”, “Bat Country”, “Buried Alive” and “Afterlife” are good choices to hit next
This band has been all over the metal genre spectrum. Going from Metalcore to straight Metal, Hard Rock, and Prog Metal/Rock. They’re incredible musicians with a wide range of sound in the Metal genre. Would definitely recommend you guys check out a lot more of their stuff!
I am so happy to see you back, Jay. I hope this past week has been healing for you. This song tells the story of a tyrannical king who strikes down any who oppose him. It begs the question about how society sees itself. The lead singer, who goes by the name M. Shadows said: "People have elected kings and leaders, people have followed presidents. Sometimes you've got to step back and say, "What are we doing here? Why do we need all of these people to tell us how to run our lives?"
I had the pleasure of getting to see them for the first time this year. When they got to this song, seeing hundreds of fists surrounding me as the whole crowd was screaming "Hail!" was something I'll never forget. One of my favorite bands of all time. Edit: Some song suggestions! Nightmare, Critical Acclaim, Unholy Confessions, Requiem, Buried Alive, Acid Rain, Gunslinger, Afterlife and So Far Away are all must-hear (in my humble opinion)
This band is one of my favorite Heavy Metal band and plays in Sacramento California because they live in the area. And I see them every year they perform here.
'Strength of the World' 'Nightmare' 'Bat Country' 'The Beast and The Harlot' 'Sidewinder' 'So Far Away' (a tribute to A7X founding drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan) Little bit of Trivia about the name: "Avenged Sevenfold" refers to the Mark of God's vengeance placed upon Cain after he murdered Able.
You gotta hear So Far Away! It is a ballad tribute to the loss of Rev Sullivan, the bands original drummer. It will leave an impression on you for sure.
It is truly awesome to see Amber rocking out. It is amazing that when you actually listen to other styles of music that you may not have thought you would be into or even sheltered from that you discover new things. I was fortunate enough to have a diverse group of people in my life early on that got me into so many genre's. Great song! Bang your head while folding that laundry Amber.
I've been waiting for you guy's to watch this video, and I'm glad you loved it. 🤘 Another banger from a different band is Praise by Sevendust. I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed this.
Back in 2018 me and my buddy went to Jacksonville Florida to a Rockfest called Rockville. Had a stellar time. The last band performing was Avenged Sevenfold. We were crowd surfing and I went first then he come after me. There were a few guys getting pissy about surfers and tossed my buddy up in the air as he passed over them. When he come down he landed on his neck and head. He said everything immediately went white. They broke his neck and he winded up having surgery to put in metal pins and whatnot in the front and back of his neck that night. He hasn’t ever been the 100% guy he ever was but it didn’t kill him thankfully. He has nerve issues now. Rain feels like knives to him. He couldn’t grasp anything with his hands for the first year. For the first six months he had to have someone bath him and feed him. I’d say he is 75% of the guy he was as far as that stuff goes. He can walk, drive, hold things and everything else he couldn’t do he can now. EDIT: check out “So Far Away” from then next. It’s a tribute song other drummer/friend they lost, The Rev. his shows them all sitting around in a room just playing and him singing his guts out to their lost friend.
This is a big band for you to get into, and a huge rabbit hole...... When they started out, they had one of the best drummers ever. His name is the Rev he passed away.Rest in peace
AfterLife and Nightmare should be on your list - Save Me is Epic, long but worth it. There are about 20 songs on the workout playlist to be added from AX7- Also check out Gunslinger.
I saw them open for Metallica in Minneapolis in 2016. It was the first rock concert at the new Vikings stadium. My seat was directly under a speaker and it was almost two days before my hearing was back to normal. I was seriously concerned it was permanently damaged. I remembered to bring ear plugs for my next Metallica show in 2018. 🤘
Gunslinger & Coming Home are my 2 favorites from them. Seen them live several years ago when they were touring to promote Nightmare album. It was also 1 of their first shows after the passing of the REV, who was their original drummer. The crowd lost it when they played Bat Country and started running down the stands to crowd the pit on arena floor, amazing show!
For me Afterlife and Almost Easy are by far their best songs. Growing up in the 80's, what I like about Avenged Sevenfold is they have a shredder on guitar in an age where there aren't many bands that do.
Afterlife was my intro to A7F followed by Hail to the king, the more i listen to it the more i love it! (watch this with the video from Vikings Ragnar it gives this song so much more!)
I love A7X! The singer, M. Shadows, has such a powerful and expressive voice. I saw them at Ozzfest 2006 and they slayed their set - best performance at Ozzfest that year.
Some of Avenged Sevenfold's songs, has an anthem-like aspect to them like you mentioned. They started out in the punk scene instead of the more usual rock/metal scene. One big difference between bands who are in the punk scene and the metal/rock scene is in punk, everyone in the band participates with some vocals. Often with a call-and-response type of arrangement going back and forth, or to underscore something the singer is saying with some kinda shout.
Alright, you got to one of my all time favorite bands now! They have A TON of amazing songs for you to check out, but the best next step after this is probably “Nightmare”, and make sure it’s the official video! They are so talented from top to bottom.
I wanna go kick down a door. But I'm gonna go fold some laundry instead!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm sorry. That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while. I totally understand the feeling though. Keep it up y'all. You do great things daily. 💯
Avenged Sevenfold are one of my fav bands, but they have changed their sound several times over the years, and some of their albums mix a lot of different musical styles. What type of genre are Avenged Sevenfold. That is difficult. Their lastest album is more prog rock and metal. Hail to the King is a different sound to their core sound but they keep changing what their core sound is. So many great songs to discover. Very heavy ones, to much softer ones. They have everything for any type of rock and metal fan. They are a mix of Guns N Roses and Metallica with influences from Iron Maiden and Pantera. If you have not heard Pantera yet then you must. One of the greatest metal bands ever. Just when you have figured out Avenged Sevenfold's sound, they go and change it on you. My fav Avenged Sevenfold songs are Nightmare, Bat Country, Afterlife, Almost Easy, Buried Alive, So Far Away, Seize the Day, Dear God, Welcome to the Family, The Stage, Critical Aclaim, MIA. So Far Away just might make you cry when you know the story behind it. So heartbreaking. My 4th fav rock ballad after the rock ballard trillog November Rain, Dont Cry and Estranged by Guns N Roses.
Avenged sevenfold awesome group can't believe it took you guys soo long ya got to react to "bat country" awesome dual guitars and banging drums. RIP to the Rev.
More Avenged Sevenfold: (In no particular order) - Critical Acclaim (Live at LBC) - Unholy Confessions (Live at LBC - Beast and the Harlot - Bat Country - Seize The Day - Nightmare - So Far Away (The video pays tribute to their late drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan who passed away in 2009. But the song was originally written in honour of Guitarist Synyster Gates' grandfather) - Shepherd of Fire - This Means War - The Stage - Nobody
Welcome back! I was always into 80s and 90s metal/rock but I was kind of immune to the appeal of the 00s and beyond, but I heard Avenged Sevenfold's Buried Alive, and it woke me up to how cool this era, this band, could be. You should react to Buried Alive, Nightmare, Afterlife, So Far Away, Critical Acclaim. The whole Nightmare album was a perfect record. Other bands from the 00s you should check out include Sevendust (start with Live Again), The Darkness (Love is Only A Feeling), and of course more Linkin Park (Crawling).
Old guy here, from the origins of metal, so I had not heard this band before, but they are the real deal, as good in the genre as anybody I have ever heard. Fabulous production that kept that drum beat driving the whole track. Loved it, I was imagining my head banging the whole time 😂✌️
Same here! I grew up in the same time period. I was a fan of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Ozzy. Just to name a few. Once Grunge hit, I never really connected with a band as much as I had during the 80's. As a matter of fact, I still don't like the "modern" metal or hardrock bands of today. I can name just two bands that have really impressed me since then. That's Avenged Sevenfold and Airbourne. If you don't know who Airbourne is, they're like a modern day AC/DC.
Glad y'all survived the weather 🌧and that J is doing better. May you get back to Tesla with Call it What you Want, Getting' Better or The Way it Is and keep up the good vids 😁
This band is beyond amazing live or studio. The trials and tribulations they have endured is amazing and sad. Watch the LBC and know that the Rev passed and see the trauma and tribute in the Nightmare album brings full circle Avenged Sevenfold. 🤘
"Shephard of fire " is an absolute MUST LISTEN! it was actually featured in The intro to a Call of Duty Zombies map and is what introduced me to the band. very similar vibes to this.
Oh man, Ax7 is a great band! You need to listen to 'Bat Country', 'Nightmare', and 'So Far Away'. Feeling blessed to see you guys making content again. Praying for you and hope you are doing better Jay! Much love and peace from Canada!
What a beautiful message at the end!! I was just going to watch your video and comment but now I’m compelled to subscribe to your channel because of it!! Thank you and my favorite Avenged song is The Gunslinger 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
There are so many great songs by ASF. Gunslinger, A little Piece of Heaven, Bat County, Nightmare just to name a few. I think yall will definitely like this band.
AX7 is an incredible band. As a guitar player, Sinister Gates is highly underrated. Cohesively as a band they are one of the most iconic bands out there. If you see them live they are insane.
When U.S. Bank stadium opened in Minneapolis, the fist rock concert was Metallica & Avenged Sevenfold (Ax7). Amazing show! Side note, I've seen Metallica live at least 12 times, and that was the only time they played Leper Messiah.
Glad you guys finally got this end of the metal genre and get to enjoy! Best wishes Rob and Amber and would love for you to review "So Far Away" as a contrast to this one and show off the range of this awesome band!
"Nightmare", is a must!
Must watch "So Far Away" first!
The Stage should be on the list as well.
Siiii Nightmareeee
Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife, Beast And The Harlot, Buried Alive, Bat country, So far away and Nightmare are some other good ones. Oddly enough to me Hail to the king is the most "radio friendly" song they made.
I would add Seize The Day, The Stage, Cosmic, Save Me to this list... Been a fan since the Unholy Confessions days.
Lost it all!!!
Damn, all these songs mentioned and none of them included almost easy or critical acclaim
Especially with how much they love drums, since almost easy showcased the rev's drumming abilities the most
You've jumped into a rabbit hole and you're going to thoroughly enjoy their huge library of top notch guitar driven songs.
Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. these guys are FIRE!!!
Shut up
No fuckin shit…
W Wikipedia read
I am 52 years old, I have seen an heard so many generations of rock music. I grew up on classic and hair metal . Then was grunge and nu metal. These guys are some of my favorite bands.
I’m 51….52 on November 29th….same…all kinds of music, I have records, cassettes, cd’s and 2800 songs on my Spotify!!
37 here. Love A7X also!
The entire "Live in the LBC" album is a MUST, especially "Critical Acclaim", "Beast and the Harlot", "Afterlife", "Second Heartbeat", "Almost Easy", "Scream" and .... Just watch the whole damned concert! You will NOT regret it!
Now a huge must hear from Avenged Sevenfold "So Far Away"...
SO beautiful!!!
When my brother passed in 2019 I damn near listed to that song on repeat just to get that shit out .
That video makes me cry every time but I love it!
"Seize The Day" is a must ! It's a BANGER !!!!!
Second this one, it's my personal favorite!
Great band! Buried alive nightmare and bat country are definitely ones to check out
Any of those would be a good 2nd look.
Those are three of my four favorite A7X songs, along with So Far Away.
Yes !! Save Me... Nightmare and So Far Away are great songs. One of my favorite bands.
Yes I've been asking them to do these guys for so long now
Nightmare will melt your face. Glad to see you guys back. Hope you worked through your situation Jay!
Afterlife from them is a must! Also So Far Away is a great song and tribute to theor original drummers who passed away. Another one of my favorites is This Means War which you can hear their Metallica influence on them. The list goes on.
Yeah, " This Means War" is basically a rewrite of "Sad But True".
Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Sevendust are also early 2000's rock bands with multiple hits.
Great suggestions. I love Sevendust and Breaking Benjamin
Yes they did breaking Benjamin only once 2 plus years ago but they did a song that is not them they need to go back and revisit breaking benjamin
I hope you guys are doing ok? I am praying for you Rob!! God is with you my friend.
This must be a prerecorded video
what happened
@JPindanga Rob was saying how he was really depressed. Having a hard time with things. That's all I know
M shadows is a ridiculously great vocalist. Synister Gates is amazing
GREAT recommendation!
Eyes of a stranger from Queensryche is an amazing song as well.
Avenged Sevenfold is one of the most successful rock/hard rock groups of the 21st century. I saw them live last year and they kicked ass
“Critical Acclaim”, “Bat Country”, “Buried Alive” and “Afterlife” are good choices to hit next
Metalcore.
Critical acclaim needs to be full version, not live in LBC. While the live version is great, so much of the song is lost
“Nightmare”, “shepherd of fire” and “carry on” are a must
This band has been all over the metal genre spectrum. Going from Metalcore to straight Metal, Hard Rock, and Prog Metal/Rock. They’re incredible musicians with a wide range of sound in the Metal genre. Would definitely recommend you guys check out a lot more of their stuff!
A7X "Buried Alive" and "The Stage" are a must but there are soooo many others that are phenomenal
Just want to add that I love how much Jay gets amped up and excited whenever you listed to something heavier.
"Natural Born Killer" by Avenged Sevenfold is another good song they do.
You'll love their song Bat Country!!!
yes!!!!
I’m just glad to see your smiling faces during a new song. It always brings me joy!❤
This band is one of my favorite Heavy Metal band and plays in Sacramento California because they live in the area. And I see them every year they perform here.

"Acid rain" and "Welcome to the family". Excellent band, lots of songs to pick from. Nightmare as well.
Welcome to the world of A7X. There are so many great songs to choose from. You should react to Nightmare next. Amber will love it.
Love this band so much!
Incredible that M. Shadows' voice has held this raw since 1999
Afterlife live at LBC .
Vocals-M Shadows, Guitars- Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance
I've been waiting for you guy's to watch this video, and I'm glad you loved it. 🤘 Another banger from a different band is Praise by Sevendust. I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed this.
Just for Amber, the drums , must do Bat Country.

YES!!!!!! One of my absolute favorite bands. They were my first concert and it was so awesome.
“This means war” is another banger
Great tune by Avenged Sevenfold........this should get your blood flowing!
💯❤️🔥 Sooo glad you're back Jay and Amber!! Agree this was 🔥, probably never would have heard this if not for RSR!!
AfterLife and Nightmare should be on your list - Save Me is Epic, long but worth it. There are about 20 songs on the workout playlist to be added from AX7- Also check out Gunslinger.

M.I.A. One of my favorites!! These guys were no joke!!❤️
Been a while since I listen to this one, I forgot just how good a song it is, and that guitar solo is *FIRE!!!*
Gunslinger & Coming Home are my 2 favorites from them. Seen them live several years ago when they were touring to promote Nightmare album. It was also 1 of their first shows after the passing of the REV, who was their original drummer. Coming Home. Same album, guitar and composition masterpiece, completely underrated.
MORE AVENGED SEVENFOLD PLS!! nightmare, unholy confessions, mia, seize the day, nobody, and i won’t see you tonight are some musts
I love A7X! The singer, M. Shadows, has such a powerful and expressive voice. I saw them at Ozzfest 2006 and they slayed their set - best performance at Ozzfest that year.
So glad yall are finally finding Avenged Sevenfold. Also its great to see you with a big smile on your face, J.
Glad to see you back, hope you are feeling better Jay.

This is such a great rabbit hole to dive into! I'd highly recommend The Stage, Cosmic or Nightmare next. You can't really miss with their songs!
Avengend sevenfold this means war. You will hear the metalica influence.
My daughters favourite band, saw them in Manchester UK 🇬🇧 with disturbed amazing
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm sorry. That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while. I totally understand the feeling though. Keep it up y'all. You do great things daily. 💯

Welcome back!
I was always into 80s and 90s metal/rock but I was kind of immune to the appeal of the 00s and beyond, but I heard Avenged Sevenfold's Buried Alive, and it woke me up to how cool this era, this band, could be. The only band worth being tattooed on my back. 🙂 I love showing it off too. Got the "deathbat" , but when I move my arms the wings move up and down :)
Glad to see you again!
Saludos desde Baja ,Mexico.
This band is beyond amazing live or studio. The trials and tribulations they have endured is amazing and sad. Watch the LBC and know that the Rev passed and see the trauma and tribute in the Nightmare album brings full circle Avenged Sevenfold. 🤘
They are the best rock band of all time in my opinion. Cosmic is my favorite song from them. Nightmare is their most iconic song
SO excited you did this song!!!
Avenged Sevenfold is such a great band because every member is top notch with their instruments. They know their stuff!❤
Omg I really really love this song and the band I'm excited to hear and see y'all's reaction
When I first heard this song...my reaction was the same! I had it on repeat for a while!
"Shephard of fire " is an absolute MUST LISTEN! it was actually featured in The intro to a Call of Duty Zombies map and is what introduced me to the band. very similar vibes to this.
Sending you love and support. Watching you both react makes me smile and enjoy the music even more
Seen these dudes a while back in OKC, they absolutely killed that night!
"Nightmare" and "Bat Country" are two must listen songs! 🤘
Pentatonix, amazing grace, close to 900 million views, just saying, may be your new all time favorite song..

Hard Rock and Metal can deliver the emotion behind the song's meaning no other genre can.
AX7 is an incredible band. As a guitar player, Sinister Gates is highly underrated. Cohesively as a band they are one of the most iconic bands out there. If you see them live they are insane.
The vocalist is M. Shadows. The guitarist, Synyster Gates, is a favorite of mine. One song you need to check out also is Nightmare.
Now youve popped your cherry time for kill switch engage- end of heartache live. One of the few black metal singers youll be blowen away
Haven't checked out one of you videos in a minute, you guys are both looking real healthy!
