Buried Alive is their "best" song in my opinion. It has the pop sensibilities with all the melody and the breakdown toward the end is as heavy as you could want it to be. But you REALLY gotta do A Little Piece of Heaven. It's IDEAL for a reaction.

Yeah tbh that’s my issue with their analysis too…they would be best served starting with Sounding the 7th Trumpet and Waking the Fallen

ya their The Stage record is wild, love every song on it except for Simulation. Higher & the guitar playing on Fermi Paradox is sick… Actually all the guitars on that album are wild and Brooks on the drums is hands down technical as I’ve ever heard someone across all genre’s while yet still follows a sense of structure.

This song was the Title Track, was the 1st Single, and it's sort of the flagship of the Album. That's why it doesn't stray too far from home. It's really steady, solid, great sounding. There's nothing super crazy or experimental stuff. It's the meat n potatoes.

I really liked Ryan’s perspective because it felt so relatable, I think the metal community can be a little bit obsessed with speed and technique at times, and the fact is that as humans most of us don’t have the same mood every single day so it’s ok to have some diversity.
This comes from a dude that was getting bored with thrash and then upgraded to death metal, it felt good for a few months but I got bored again until I went back to softer genres with a different perspective. You may not appreciate a song’s technique but the production, the lyrics, the story behind it can make your experience with music even more fulfilling.

Like many of A7X later songs, you can really hear the growth of the band. From the production they have, to the sound that they have. The star of this song, is Syn. Metal/ rock guitarist have a tendency to just really play fast leads, with quick tricks, to give you that wow factor. Syn, actually puts a voice to his guitar. He really gives you that old school slash, sound in a modern sound. I can’t say that every song with these guys is a great, but wow, their catalog is really really good.

But you definetly have to react to "A little piece of heaven" that is a completly masterpiece! This is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm working out or when I have repetitive, high energy tasks at work. It feels like a song that was made for its listeners to enjoy. Some musicians and bands produce songs that demand attention to understand or enjoy fully. Which is okay, but sometimes I want to listen to good music without having to devote more than a head bang to it.

Ryan talking about how he likes to fantasize about playing the guitar and everything really makes me feel like I'm FINALLY not alone, because ever since I was a child (I'm 36 now), whenever I listen to music I really like by bands I really enjoy, I'll imagine myself playing the guitar and/or singing the songs. When I was in school, it was at school for like a talent show or something, and since I was bullied in real life, in my fantasy during this, I was adored and loved and everyone was in awe by how awesome I was, and then as I got older, and got out of school, the fantasy became playing as a cover band or whatever in front of people at a bar/club. Lol. ♥
