I'm confident that Marvel is keeping some things secret about Thunderbolts. I have a theory that Abomination was kept from the cast reveal at D23 because they didn't want to spoil what's going on in She-Hulk. I guess we'll have to wait and see though 🤔
My theory is they will be compromised and filled with Skrulls, this sets up a chance for a brand new mystery team of heroes to show up to save the day, later to be found out to be villains. Either way, I agree there's no way this is the actual team, there's too much redundency with 3x super soldier
I loved Bucky and Sams relationship in the series! I feel like they could easily pull off the "buddy cop vibe" and still get the anti-hero. They showed how he can flip the switch on a dime in the series. They also showed his ability to flip the switch back off when necessary (control)
So the way I see it the reason the team doesn't have big heavy hitters like a hulk or a thor is because they aren't the "stand on the front lines and fight the enemy head on" type like The Avengers, they're all more covert (with the exception of Red Guardian) "we're going to sneak behind and hit you where you aren't looking" type of team
There are 2 Red Hulks. I can see General Robert Maverick taking over Ross' work in trying to have a government controlled team, leading to the Thunderbolts, named in Ross' honor. While Val deals with the team face to face, Maverick continues trying to perfect the super soldier serum (maybe some cooperation with the Abomination), eventually leading to Red Hulk, perhaps in a post credit scene. The Lack of Zemo and Abomination makes me think that Zemo will be the villian in this with Abomination as his muscle. They didnt bring him back just for a couple moments in the She-Hulk series i would think

It the comic he has a temper. He can't keep a leadership jobs because of it and gets fired alot. He is not pure like Cap. He is willing to go vigilante to stop villians. Unstable he is not on Peacemaker level. He would rather quit being a hero than go that far.
It does occur to me that since OsCorp doesn't exist in the MCU that we'll instead find out that Justin Hammer is actually behind the Thunderbolts. He was stupidly competitive with Stark so attempting to destroy his legacy (is. The Avengers) would be consistent with his personality and history.
For Winter Soldier, I think he’ll be in between villainous and heroic. He’s not killing just because, but if the situation calls for it, he’ll be willing to.
I remember a while back this leaker got everything right about Avengers: Endgame and then later leaked that The Leader will be the villain of the Thunderbolts movie but I guess Marvel changed that and put the Leader in Captain America 4.
Well she was more of a prop in black widow for more Natasha story telling. It shouldn't be too hard to do better than that. She'll actually get to be a character now.

I doubt it’ll be the turn around the MCU needs. With the exception of Bucky, most of these characters weren’t well received or their individual movies flopped. Ultimately it’ll depend on who directs and what they try to do with it.
I don't know what's the deal with sony when it comes to venom, because even if it's not eddie brock let's not forget that part of the symbiote is now in the mcu, so they probably have plans for it. I don't think it will attach to flash because I really don't know how much you can beef up tony revolori. A part of me hopes it attached right then and there to dani rojas, rooooojas, dani rojas! But the point is, it will take a host sooner rather than later. They don't let more than two or three years pass before paying off the post credit scenes. Here's an idea... imagine if the symbiote attaches to whoever the villain of the thunderbolts is for the final fight. Or even better... imagine if it happens to be looking for a host during that final fight and jumps from one thunderbolt to the other and we get a temporary but awesome power up from each character. Like, ghost with a venom suit? What would that even look like?

They usually talk about the animation stuff separate from all the live action stuff. That said, they have promoted What If Season 2 at Comic Con with a trailer and everything, it was just never released to the public. Based on what people reported to have seen in the trailer we appear to be getting Captain Carter's Winter Soldier storyline with Hydra Stomper in place of Winter Soldier, an episode on Mandarin vs Odin, and an episode based on the Marvel 1602 story, among others. Thunderbolts is closer to two years out, as it's a July 2024 release.
To have 3 super soldiers in the team, I think they will be facing forces more powerful and more dangerous than the Avengers have ever faced.... MUTANTS!!! Even having 3 super soldiers won't be nearly enough.

If they’re smart they’ll say given Ross’s involvement with the Accords when the Avengers disbanded he worked on a government controlled version of the team before he died which is why they call the team Thunderbolts in his honor however Val is running the team now so she chooses members with criminal histories to essentially have control of them. I think Yelena will be as comical as she has been previously, Bucky will be given field command but given his history with Walker and the fact that there are 3 super soldiers on the team it will cause strife so Yelena will end up taking command. I could see Sebastian leaving after Thunderbolts and have Bucky written out as becoming the man on the wall

This MCU version of the Thunderbolts is really street level power scale, so most likely the storyline will consist of low level challenges.

I doubt it’ll be the turn around the MCU needs. With the exception of Bucky, most of these characters weren’t well received or their individual movies flopped. Ultimately it’ll depend on who directs and what they try to do with it.

I don't know what's the deal with sony when it comes to venom, because even if it's not eddie brock let's not forget that part of the symbiote is now in the mcu, so they probably have plans for it. I don't think it will attach to flash because I really don't know how much you can beef up tony revolori. A part of me hopes it attached right then and there to dani rojas, rooooojas, dani rojas! But the point is, it will take a host sooner rather than later. They don't let more than two or three years pass before paying off the post credit scenes.
Here's an idea... imagine if the symbiote attaches to whoever the villain of the thunderbolts is for the final fight. Or even better... imagine if it happens to be looking for a host during that final fight and jumps from one thunderbolt to the other and we get a temporary but awesome power up from each character. Like, ghost with a venom suit? What would that even look like?
Naw BP 2 and Antman 3 will be a great back to back combo that should do it before Thunderbolt drops.

As the MCU is "Live action", do you not feel like there is a time limit on how long this will work before they start running out of heroes to put into the shows and movies?how many captain america's after Sam till we no longer want Cap? how many Black Widows? How would you handle it if it was you running the show. I can't think of how you could do it without introducing heavy burnout.

I'm more confused about the lack of What If season 2 info, but they're already promoting Thunderbolts and Secret Invasion and both projects are over a year away 🤨
They usually talk about the animation stuff separate from all the live action stuff. That said, they have promoted What If Season 2 at Comic Con with a trailer and everything, it was just never released to the public. Based on what people reported to have seen in the trailer we appear to be getting Captain Carter's Winter Soldier storyline with Hydra Stomper in place of Winter Soldier, an episode on Mandarin vs Odin, and an episode based on the Marvel 1602 story, among others. Thunderbolts is closer to two years out, as it's a July 2024 release.

If they’re smart they’ll say given Ross’s involvement with the Accords when the Avengers disbanded he worked on a government controlled version of the team before he died which is why they call the team Thunderbolts in his honor however Val is running the team now so she chooses members with criminal histories to essentially have control of them. I think Yelena will be as comical as she has been previously, Bucky will be given field command but given his history with Walker and the fact that there are 3 super soldiers on the team it will cause strife so Yelena will end up taking command. I could see Sebastian leaving after Thunderbolts and have Bucky written out as becoming the man on the wall
